The roasted butternut squash ravioli is sooo tasty. My friends have had the braised beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans and loved it. French fries are actually really good here too. The pear salad with Gorgonzola, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, and maple vinaigrette dressing is exquisite. Every bite is bursting with flavor! That's what I tell myself all the time since I am such a snob when it comes to Italian food and have difficulty finding good Italian in the Pacific NW. I wanted to try some place new and discovered Tutto Bene in Brockton. We decided to have an adults dinner and see how good it really was. The restaurant is in a strip mall, making it look pretty nondescript from the outside. Inside, though, it is quite cute with very nice décor, and it is much larger than expected. We had reservations for a Friday night and were seated immediately upon arrival. I had read about the Lemon Ice cocktail and had to try it, and there was also an Italian Breeze ordered. The Lemon Ice had citrus vodka and creamy lemoncello and pretty much tasted like I was drinking a boozy dessert. It had a creamy lemon flavor that was extremely smooth and was downright delicious. The Italian Breeze had a bit more of an assuming look and feel to it, consisting of rum, Amaretto, and pineapple and cranberry juices. It was also smooth and had a stronger flavor than the Lemon Ice. Both cocktails were fabulous. I normally don't say too much about complimentary bread, but Tutto Bene's is worth talking about. The bread was served warm and was light and soft with a crispy crust, but the real talking point is the dip they served. Most Italian places will provide olive oil with either vinegar or just ground pepper. The dip here consisted of olive oil and a pureed white bean sauce that was almost hummus-like. It was so delicious on the bread that I ended up eating way more bread than I planned. It was definitely a delicious start! We ordered two appetizers for the table--Tutto Benne Hot and Sticky Balls (let the jokes begin!) and the Wrapped Asparagus--and I ordered one for myself: a single Baked Eggplant Rolotini. Getting past the many inappropriate jokes that come to mind due to the name (you know you were!), the Hot and Sticky Balls were amazing. The balls themselves are house made meatballs, and they are baked in a sauce consisting of balsamic, honey, and espresso. They were kind of like a different take on Swedish meatballs and were absolutely delicious. The Wrapped Asparagus came with three asparagus spears wrapped with cheese, roasted peppers, sopresata and then baked with lemon. They were also quite delicious. But what stole the appetizer show was the Eggplant Rolotini. The other apps were delicious, but the party didn't officially start in my mouth until this crossed the threshold. Imagine a large crepe, perhaps like a much larger cannelloni, stuffed with perfect texture eggplant and herbed ricotta, and then topped with lots of melted cheese and tomato basil sauce. It was a taste of Heaven, and I could have eaten several more and called that dinner. If you get one thing here, you must get this. Dinner was already amazing, and I wasn't even to the main course yet. I was having trouble deciding between the Baked Pasta Bolognese and one of the specials, the Veal Bracciole. Someone else wanted the Bolognese and promised to share, so I ordered the Veal. The Bracciole was divine: two veal filets stuffed and rolled with romano, bread crumbs, parsley, garlic, pancetta, and sopresata, and then braised with a herbed tomato sauce. It was served with house made ricotta-filled gnocchi. Yummy, delicious, tantalizing, taste buds boogying and break dancing...this is what happened as I ate this. It was perfectly prepared and utterly delicious. Not to be left out, the Bolognese was also divine. House made pappardelle pasta, a scrumptious meat sauce with veal, pork, and diced veggies, and then topped with beschamel and served like a mini casserole. It kind of reminded me of a baked ziti or a non-dense lasagna, but the flavor was just out of this world. It is simply fabulous and is a must order. All of this food, and now it was dessert time? And yet I had seen the Deconstructed Cannoli since I sat down and just knew I had to have one. Imagine a cannoli with its insides in a bowl, and its outsides formed into chips for dipping. That is the essence of what this was, and it was perfect. Smooth, rich creamy, with the right crisp in the chips. It was the perfect way to end dinner. Great ambiance, amazing menu, super high quality food, great portions, and great service too! I want to give a special call out to our server Jana who was amazing and extremely helpful. I was super happy we made our way to Brockton to eat at Tutto Bene, and you should definitely make your way there too, unless, of course, you are not a fan of party time for your taste buds. What a jewel. Relaxed, a very nice room well lit and comfortable. Our experience started with a hostess who treated us as if we were " regulars". It was our first visit. Our waitress was friendly, and I have no other word... she was sweet. Gave us space...never hovered but seemed to be there when we needed her help. One of my favorite Italian restaurants on the South Shore! I love coming on Wednesday nights for dinner and trivia - so much fun with some tough, friendly competition and lots of laughs. The lobster ravioli either as an appetizer or dinner portion is incredible, but my personal favorite is the veal Parmesan. A HUGE piece of perfectly breaded and seasoned meat with a side of angel hair... perfection! The cannoli dip for dessert is excellent - cannoli shell "chips" with ricotta "dip". First off, I called for a reservation for 16 people - sure, that's fine they said - no mention at all that we would be at 2 tables until we got there - was not happy. The food was just mediocre at best. The homemade ravioli tasted like they were frozen out of a bag, the shrimp had a funny taste to it, the lobster ravioli were very fishy and the pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. Unfortunately we won't be doing that anymore because whoever works on the phones now is very rude. I'm sorry to have to say but when you have an extremely unapproachable type person answering your phones that keeps people from calling. I've called myself and experienced this, and then i had my husband call for me because i didn't want to deal with the rude lady again -- so i had my husband call and he said the same thing. lady is very rude. working there on valentine's day and again today. not really sure if it is worth it for this restaurant to find a nicer person for the phones or continue with this and go on because this person clearly isn't happy or liking this job very much. read more

My new favorite restaurant after having the roasted red pepper and mozzarella cheese appetizer followed up by my insanely delicious lobster stuffed homemade ravioli. Very lumpy which tells me I had some claws in there all smothered in an unbelievable sauce made from the lobster stock.So yummy. I'm happy this place is close to home, no need to head into the North End or East Boston now when i want authentic Italian food plus its served without the big city attitude and free parking! Walking in i was a little surprised at how close the tables were to each other and the close proximity of the bar to the tables, but as the place filled up i realized they needed to be tight to fit everyone in. The host was delightful and our server was just as welcoming, we ordered drinks and were served with warm bread and a dipping side of olive oil / hummus Had to try the sticky balls (which in any other circumstance would be a problem) these were densely packed golf ball sized meat balls served in a sweet and savory balsamic reduction, i know that sounds odd, but it worked. For mains i wanted to try several items so i ordered a app size lobster ravioli, an app sized butternut squash ravioli and chicken saltimbocca. All the ravioli were cooked perfectly, i found the sauces a little thick for my liking (personal preference) the lobster came with a shrimp perched on each little lobster filled pillow, delicious all round, the squash ravioli were my favorite, served in a wonderful sage cream sauce, a little nutmeg would have made these perfect, again, personal preference! My chicken saltimbocca was huge, i ended up bringing half home, i noticed that just about all the entree portions coming out of the kitchen were large, especially the pasta dishes, i saw a chicken/veal parm being delivered and it almost took 2 people to carry it! Seriously though the portions are substantial. The chicken was juicy and was topped with cheese and ham and was in a light white wine sage, mushroom and garlic sauce all atop of Tutto Bene's homemade linguini. Homemade pasta is not always a good decision, i've had thick undercooked pasta in the city only to be told it was "authentic" which is ridiculous by the way, it just wasn't good but they get away with it, here, the pasta is perfect. Absolutely perfect. The linguini was rolled thin and was cooked a little over al dente' which i prefer, so i was over the moon. Had to try the deconstructed cannoli but couldn't manage it right there and then so i had them wrap it to go. The guy that brought it over gave us a side of chocolate sauce as he didn't want to drizzle it over the dish then as it would ruin the consistency, very professional and incredibly thoughtful, wish i got his name. Prices were very reasonable, service was attentive but not over bearing in fact the staff overall were amazing, friendly and personable. I'm looking forward to heading back, there's about 20 other dishes i need to try! read more
