I've been coming here pretty frequently since my last review and it's genuinely one of my favorite places. I've tried a lot of items on their menu, it's kind of crazy looking through my photos. Anything with hash browns and fries are amazing. My favorites are the sloppy java hero and atlas hero. Their coffee is pretty good too especially the einspanner if you like a strong coffee drink. The staff there are always super welcoming and friendly! Delicious diner style food at affordable prices, friendly staff, speedy service, and attention to detail. Today we ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a roll, eggs over easy. They saw we were splitting the sandwich between two people. And they cut the sandwich in half, an egg placed on each half of the sandwich! How thoughtful was that?! I found Java Day Cafe while out in Queens this past Monday. I had a few hours to kill in between meetings and was looking for a cafe to WFH. At the owners recommendation, I ordered The Frenchie, as well as two hash browns (hey don't judge, I was starvin marvin!). The Frenchie consisted of 2 pieces of delicious cinnamon french toast with sausage, egg and cheese nestled inside. I washed it down with a delicious large coffee with almond milk. I chose a table by the window, which had 2 outlets below, so I was able plug away on my laptop and enjoy my food, with no low battery stress. I ended up having three coffees during my stint there and lucky for me, their bathroom was super spacious and clean... love that! However, I do feel like if both food items (especially the French toast) was hot, it would've been a lot better but unfortunately that's not feasible with delivery (not their fault, obviously). I had the chopped cheese and the strawberry cream French toast. The chopped cheese was great but had a little too much lettuce and less spice to my liking, however I'm sure the latter is adjustable. My usual go to place for breakfast! I visited this place a few times over the past few years and love how there's a different sorts of breakfast items you can order. There's street parking (meter), and residential parking on the side. You can go in, order at the counter, and then you can take a seat. They'll bring your order to you. I've tried different menu items from Java Day and one of my favorites has got to be the HashBrown Wrap! You can choose your meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) but if you want to add extra items, it'll be an additional fee. You don't really see this kind of dish at other places, so give it a try! One tip to keep in mind is that the HashBrown wrap takes some time to cook. So if you want it to go, you'll have to wait a bit. I also order the Western Omelet often and add mushroom to it, along with white or whole-wheat toast and home fries. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the omelets that you order. My go to drink is their Honey Ginger Peach Tea. It's light and refreshing and so delicious. It's the perfect alternative if I want something other than coffee. Staff is always friendly and very accommodating. I haven't ordered anything from their lunch menu but would love to try it in the nearby future. read more

For starters the staff is very friendly and willing to help you with your order. Their menu has a very nice selection of items to choose from, even for a picky eater there's something to pick from! I got the egg avocado toast with a side order of home fries which was simply delicious! Everything was fresh and made exactly to order. It usually comes with sunny eggs but you're able to have the eggs whatever way you like them. It's like bitting into breakfast filled with happiness! My fiancé got the banana nut pancakes which were very filling and delicious! We sure will be returning here to check out the other items! Decided on the Frenchy Sandwich ($8.50) and the Spam Omelette Platter ($14.75). Both items are packed well enough that it made it through delivery still hot (no express needed). The Frenchy is your basic egg and cheese sandwich with french toast instead of regular bread. The balance between the sweetness of the French toast and the savory cheese/egg was perfect. Added a little hot sauce towards the end for a needed kick. The omelette consists of tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, scallions, and of course Spam. Large portion and filling overall (especially in tandem with the sandwich). This is served alongside some home fries which are well crisped and salted. Wow. Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots in all of New York. The food here is incredibly good. I have come here on quite a few occasions and tried a bunch of their omelets and egg sandwiches. Everything was full of flavor. The pancakes they serve here are perfectly soft and taste great. Street parking can be found here (no meter payment before 9am. This is certainly a family run business and the service here is extra friendly. It is mostly Asian/Korean ethnicity in this area and reminded me of Buford Highway in Atlanta. Seating is limited and not exactly comfortable but the atmosphere is nice. Couple tables, around 20 people seating capacity. It is order at the bar and wait. They have a decent menu to choose from and a variety of drinks. I came for an authentic NY bagel experience, with home fries and a macchiato. The plain bagel was perfectly toasted and the egg/cheese/turkey bacon with it was exactly what I craved. The home fries were also good, with peppers and onions. My s'mores macchiato was meh, but I wasn't there for the coffee. This experience certainly hit my expectations, and pricing wasn't bad at all.
