Great source for Hawaiian jams and jellies, hot sauces and other food items. The owner waited on us while we were there and was eager for us to sample the jams and jellies before we made our decision. We ended up purchasing a couple we had tasted, and other items including chocolate. We even stopped by before we left to purchase a few more items to take home. We recently were on a family trip to Maui and came upon this little gem. We walked in and were greeted by Ellie and Chad who were more than willing to help us find some things to take back home. Ellie had us sample all the different hot sauces and the kids tried several chocolates. Chad introduced us to 808 elixirs and gave us one to take with, everyone loved it. I purchased for $11 a bag of mango salt water taffy. The customer service person, who works at Wailea Landscaping and also Tutu pantry, told me this is the best saltwater taffy. She said she gave it to her relatives. I paid $11 cash and went out to my car to open up the bag of saltwater taffy. The saltwater taffy was glued to the paper. I got it all over my hands and the only way to get it off was to pull off with teeth- got all over face.The paper was to pull it with my teeth. I thought to myself saltwater taffy was not made, right I took it back in and told the lady at the counter but the issue was she said oh it's just hot. You need to put it into the refrigerator. I know that you're not supposed to put saltwater taffy in a refrigerator because it gets very hard and you cannot bite down on it. She asked me if I wanted a different bag. I said no, and she started squeezing the pieces of salt water taffy. I would've thought that she would've opened one of them, but she did not. I just asked for my money back. She said I have to call the owner. My wife is handicap so she was just leaving from getting a massage. So I said just forget it you keep the bag and I left. I would think that if a person has an issue with a product you can get your money back. I am not just a tourist. I've been to Maui for the last 28 years and stay here for 8 to 10 weeks a year. Such a great local shop! They've got tons of different options for treats, jams, spices, hot sauces, and more. We originally went here hoping to find some donkey balls chocolates (a request for a souvenir from family back home). Unfortunately, they no longer carried them but it was cool to see all the other treats and snacks they had! The staff was really helpful and even offered us some free samples of their jams and sauces. We visit the islands quite often, yet never seem to bring back enough goodies for everyone, so occasionally we will have to go online to purchase more. I'm not surprised that Ellie's shop has such high reviews. She's bubbly, sweet, and clearly enjoys meeting her customers. Ellie offers samples for most items and went above and beyond with introducing products and offering recommendations. I saw one of the same items for a few dollars cheaper at a nearby shop, but don't mind spending a tad more since this is a great one-stop shop for (mostly) food souvenirs. There also non-food items on offer. I bought an assortment of things for gifts and am glad to know that what I sampled will be well received. If it weren't for the samples, I would have bought significantly less. It's the Costco sample effect: you don't know that you need to buy it until you taste it! Even if the things that I couldn't have as a sample (last item in stock and the other was a pancake mix) are not what the recipient cares for (picky eater), I'm still happy to have supported local Maui businesses and Ellie's business. Maskless during a global pandemic and openly and proudly flouting the indoor mask mandate. Went in to browse and discovered both the owner and cashier (Tiana) were maskless. This is a fully indoor and air conditioned establishment. When I asked the cashier why she wasn't wearing a mask, she proudly said that the owner allows people to wear a mask or not. I informed here that there was still a state mask mandate and she proudly said that as a business, they are free to do as they like. It's hot and they don't like wearing masks is what she told me. No shit sherlock! No one loves wearing a mask! You don't wake up thinking "oh I can't wait. I'm so excited to put on a mask today!! Yippeee!" This is the epitome of entitled and selfish. Add in cultural appropriation by having a store named "Tutu's Pantry" when the last thing they care about is your vulnerable and older Tutu catching covid. The owner will not honor the 15% discount on the products. Order over $300 of chocolate. I will take business somewhere else. Suggest everyone go to another place. By the time I was going to order them, it was all out of stock. I even sent an email a day before the sale started to find out if the store would honor the 15% or not. Never got a callback. When I called the store in the afternoon, I was told it did not apply to the chocolate that I ordered or that they did not have 20 bags to sell to me. I said I was able to place 20 bags at 14.45 = $289 + $32 shipping in my cart this morning. The store still won't honor it. I have proof and it is in the attached picture. And the best part, besides that they had a huge selection of local hot sauces, is that they have samples and will let you try them! Serious this is amazing - to be able to try so many local hot sauces made my day, I truly loved it. I tried not to be greedy with the samples, but I tried my fair share and they were very kind and accommodating. Beyond the hot sauces, they had so many other locally made fun items. There were so many spices I wanted to take home but had to show some restraint and already had committed to taking some hot sauces home. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular here. We were here on vacation and we told the woman who worked here we wanted to make wings, and she let us really try and checkout so many things so we could purchase the right sauces for us! They have travel sizes too that you can fly out with which was so nice! It was so much fun talking with her and checking out the sauces. I'm a sucker for sweets and condiments and this shop was a great place to fulfill my tourist dreams. The lady working there was super friendly and nice about letting us sample items. Everything is either local to Maui or made in Hawaii. We got their coconut candy, Lilikoi hot sauce, Lilikoi jam and butter, Hawaiian shortbread, Lilikoi macadamia nuts, and Lilikoi mustard. I just couldn't find this stuff anywhere else and honestly the prices weren't terrible for specialty items. Great for travel size gifts and souvenirs. My friend was lucky enough to go to Hawaii and she brought me a present, a jar of heaven on Earth; a jar of Island Butter from Tutu's Pantry. Holy Gods! This stuff is the most awesome thing that I have ever, ever, ever tasted. Try it on pancakes. Or just eat it out of the jar if you find yourself addicted and can't stop yourself... As a culinarian who keeps a drawer full of fancy cheeses on hand at all times (in anticipation of 'emergency cheese plates') I absolutely LOVE that I can walk into Tutu's Pantry any day of the week and come out with all the accoutrements I could dream of. I adore the pepper jellies & fruit pastes, as well as the MAUI BALSAMIC vinegars & amazing variety of hot sauces available! The pineapple vinaigrette has recently become my go to salad dressing, it works so well with fresh fruit and goat cheese! With all the space in the new location they've started adding some locally made bath & body products and amazing art work, making this store my 'go to' for quick gifts that I know everyone will be stoked to receive. I'm impressed every time I walk in by the creativity of the residents of the islands. Congrats on the amazing new space!!! read more

Tutu's Pantry was not on my list of to go places; however, a very colorful advertisement in the Kihei to Ma'alaea Dining & Shopping Magazine aroused my curiosity and was beckoning me to ask my honey-do if he wanted to come along with me to do some shopping. "Goodies made in Hawaii with Aloha", especially the seasonings, jams & butters, coffee, tea & honey, fudges, cookies, candy, etc. were things I just could not avoid. My honey-do saw something he liked, too...Tutu's Katcha Fire Hot Sauce. We got a little twisted trying to find Tutu's, so we asked a few people standing around and they were helpful. Tutu's is located in this big building with several kiosks selling a variety of products...clothing, jewelry, wall decor, etc. The lady working there was very nice and allowed me to sample some of the jams - guava and mango. Both jams were delish, but the mango jam was a tad more flavorful. I wanted to sample the lychee butter, but there wasn't an open jar of it for sampling. I had to choose wisely as to what flavor jams and butters I wanted. I knew buying the big jars would be a heavy load for me to pack in my luggage to head home to California. I ended purchasing little 2 ounces jars of these flavors: mango jam, lychee butter, upcountry strawberry butter and smoked Hawaiian salt and seasoning. The seasoning is great to rub on chicken, pork, steak and ribs. The jams and butters are great spread for toast, bagels, scones, muffins and biscuits. There were so many items I wanted to purchase, but the amount of space in our luggages would not have allowed it. Thus, I will check their website and then order more of their products. read more
