We were looking for somewhere different to try some good Mexican food and we found Tuza-Bor online and saw they had decent reviews so decided to give them a shot. We went during the period between lunch and dinner hours on a Friday so there weren't a lot of customers at that time. Tuza is located in a small shopping plaza near the shipyards. They have a parking lot available but they share it with other businesses so I'm sure there are times when it's full. We walked in and noticed how clean and well lit the dining room was. We also took note that they had a karaoke machine playing with some popular music. It was a pretty cool atmosphere. We were greeted by an employee who was kind and patient while we looked over the menu. We both ended up ordering burritos which come with chips and salsa on the side. Food came out quickly and was piping hot. My carne asada burrito was absolutely delicious. I don't often see this type of burrito come with cheese melted inside and wasn't sure if I would like that but it was amazing and I would definitely order it again. Their salsa is tasty as well. Prices are average for Mexican food in San Diego these days. We were told that they get really busy at night with the karaoke. I highly recommend Tuza-Bor. read more

Los Tapatios is located in San Diego right off Main Street and 28th street serving up quick and fast Mexican food with specials daily. After passing by the restaurant daily I decided to drop by and catch one of there specials I see posted up in colorfol words on the windows. It so happened the day was Wednesday so for that day they were having specials on fish tacos. I went ahead and grabbed some fish tacos and a bean burrito. Inside is very decorative with TVs playing and artwork to look at while waiting for your food. Not much long after waiting our order was called to pick up. The bean burrito was was looking hefty than ever while the fish tacos were looking colorful and tasty. The bean burrito had a nice warm temperature to it with the creaminess of refried beans and sharp cheddar cheese filling the warm tortilla. The cheddar cheese wasn't melted but thats okay. I went ahead and complimented it with one of there house green salsas and it hit the spot. The fish tacos were nice and filling that were garnished with tomatoes and sliced cabbage. Los tapatios is a great spot for quick food on the go with daily specials throughout the week. I'm looking forward to come back on a Friday to check out there surf and turf burrito special. read more

The rolled shredded beef tacos I had for lunch were exceptional! Just the right amount of meat, seasoning, crispness, and medley of shredded lettuce, guacamole and sharp cheddar cheese. Pair with a cold sparkling grapefruit soda Refreshing! Delicious! Reasonably priced! read more

Came in after a suit fittings. Had the Surf and Turf Burrito with a side of Fries, and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh; burrito straight off the grill and fries straight out the fryer. Chef recommended I come back for their birria and I'm definitely coming back. read more

I joined 2 friends here for lunch and immediately discovered that the strip mall ownership most likely thinks all of its patrons own Fiat 500's, Mini's, or motorcycles, because those are the only vehicles who can fit into their parking stalls which are only 80% the width of a typical parking lot stall. You can park on the street at paid metered parking. Once we arrived at Los Tapatios, we found their dining area (and even the kitchen area from what we could tell) was kept tidy and clean. There were ample tables for the lunch crowd. I was undecided between their taco salad bowl and their Caldo de Rez and asked the lady which would she order and she recommended their Caldo de Rez with corn tortillas. The other two ordered a California Burrito, and one of their salads, both of which were plentiful servings! My Caldo soup tasted great, the meat was tender, the broth was tasty, as was the hot tortillas. BUT the potato chunks were undercooked as it was a pain to cut them into smaller bite sized pieces with my metal spoon, and quite tough to chew. It was the only thing I could complain about. Maybe a one-time mistake, maybe that's how they cook it. But nevertheless, those were my only two negatives, the parking, and the potatoes in my Caldo de Rez. Outside of that, it's a great spot! I'd definitely eat there again, but I might need to ride my bicycle since their parking is one of the worst for a strip mall in all of San Diego. read more

Ordered a pick-up order thru Yelp and paid. When arrived the guy working said they did not receive order, and wanted us to order and pay again? I cannot put a review in based on the food, but I will say the service and attitude from the guy was extremely rude. I highly recommend calling if you want to order from here. Disappointed. read more

The burritos here are huge for $7-$8! They're practically the size of your face. They load it up with your preferred filling and serve it fresh. I tried to get the fish tacos but unfortunately they were out. This time I got the 3 mini tacos, and let me tell you, they were not very "mini". They came with two soft corn tortillas and each one came with a scoop of guacamole! The three salsa flavors were all quite spicy and were not very good, but having a tray of limes was nice. The carnitas were the best tacos in terms of flavor. The carne asado were the driest and most lack luster. Overall, good place to get cheaper Mexican food. read more

The breakfast chorizo burrito was really good. The hours stayed 07 opening but we got there close to 9 and it looked like they were just opening. The tables and floor were still dirty from the night before I'm assuming. The service provided was friendly though. read more

This is another average, slightly overpriced taco shop that is frequented by the base and ship people. There's a good amount of seating, the menu has a lot of stuff. Staff is nice and the food came out quickly...but it wasn't crowded. I only got two potato tacos. Overall, they were alright, priced fairly. The potatoes did have some flavor. There are three salsas available, I only tried two of them, and I enjoyed the non-chunky red one..it has good flavor and just a little spiciness to it. read more

This used to be one of the best places to get a California burrito in San Diego but now it's the absolute worst. The rest of the items on the menu are decent but do not order a California Burrito here or you will be disappointed unless you like your California burrito with cheese whiz and whatever the hell else they put in there. They shouldn't even agree to make one if they don't know how. It hurts my feelings :( and my stomach. read more

Stopped in here for some breakfast and it was delicious! Nice and clean place with a huge menu. I ordered the Chorizo plate with flour tortillas. The plate was HUGE! $8.60! It was enough for two people. The beans and rice were good, the Chorizo and eggs were very fresh. A lot of times the chorizo is over cooked and dry or burnt. We walked and and were told they close in 40 minutes. When in realty what they should have said is we don't want to serve you. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas combo with rice and beans. She did not tell us they already put the rice up for the night. I got 2 cheese ench with the cheese not even melting and half a plate of dried out beans. First time at this location. A nice place to sit in and dine on some good Mexican food. I was planning on getting some errands done and needed a big breakfast to start the busy day. I chose the chorizo con Nuevo. My order came out fast. I was surprised how big the portions were. Nice hefty sized meal. Everything was good too. The rice and beans had great flavor. Nice salsa bar to add to your meal. Great hot carrots in the salsa bar. Nice dining area size. Plus plenty of parking. It's next to the 32nd naval base So I can see this place can get busy at lunch. Only minor thing is the inside is old and needs an upgrade and clean up. So many great choices for Mexican food in San Diego. Cool to find this one. I will return. read more

Delicious and fast. This small Jalisco restaurant smells good when you walk in and the service is fast. I ordered the rolled hard tacos (taquitos) and requested shredded beef and the servers had no problem making it. 3 comes in an order and they do not disappoint. Crunchy on the outside and tender beef inside topped with their style guacamole, shredded lettuce salad and cheddar cheese. Personally I thought the green salsa taste best with the taquitos. I also ordered the Diablo burrito made w asada. The tortilla is homemade and the Diablo sauce definitely has a kick. quality breakfast burrito this morning from this taco shop which I pass daily but have never previously stopped at before. it was before 8:00am and it looked completely empty so figured I would try it out, especially since breakfast burritos are my favorite thing to order at Mexican shops! the decor was similar to many other similar shops in San Diego but had some nice color mixed in. there are many tables to sit at and the booths were comfortable. Both the young girl and the gentleman working at the counter were very nice and gave great service. The menu was extensive and well-organized which is a plus since I have found that that often lacks at small taco shops. they also offer a wide variety of Mexican candies and ice creams which I thought was really cool. read more

Instantly regret eating that, only reason I'm giving two stars is because it was super fast like legit not even 2 minutes. That is convenient I guess if you're on a quick lunch break from the shipyard. However it was sloppy, Carne Asada was missing something (maybe under cooked), sauce not even throughout, and one of the salsas was BAD (SPOILED). Wont come back, like ever. read more

Well the food is ok but the staff seems disconnected. They have a California Burrito that does not have avocado Or pico humm. This place is right across the street from the 32 Street Navy Base walking distance from the gate (McDonald's) side. There is no real spice, the upside is they serve breakfast as long as they are open, I would come back for that. If you keep to the Breakfast Burrito you will be content. read more

I went to try this place because my bf recommended it. The place is awesome. The service was friendly,there were places to sit if that's what you wanted to do. And the food came out quickly. The burrito was huge, but delicious. Seasoned nicely, everything was spaced out great(where you get the same ingredients in every bite) and the fries were crispy. I enjoyed every bite. And the salsas were good as well. I tried both red salsas. One more spicy than the other, but very delicious. read more

Los Tapatios is A-OK, no big complaints. The place looks pretty clean and nice. The service lacked enthusiasm but was pretty average for your typical corner taco shop. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They serve coca-cola products from a fountain, and I'm not sure about the cleanliness of the fountain, but otherwise the place seemed fine. I would go back here frequently if I lived or worked nearby. read more

This place is two legit to quit! If you want that across the border genuine Mexican food then this is your spot. The food is hand made not the boil in the bag or factory made food those high end chains serve. I have been in Hawaii the last year and there is not a homemade torta to be found. The salsa bar has a little something for everyone who wants to dress up their on-tray. The California Burrito is the bomb. The Cally Buro is huge. I could not eat until the next day. Yum, yum, yummy. The mini pollo and carne asada tacos were perfect. Accented with some onions and guacamole. The prices are decent and the service is top notch. The ambience is laid back and I have yet to meet an angry person there. Its like the food makes everyone happy. You will not regret your decision. Totally Delicious. read more

I've eaten here a dozen times over the last 6 months. Great service. Food is out in the blink of an eye with amazing flavors and portions. Salsa bar is a great set up with their fresh help your self options. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. Big fan of their chicken quesadilla and Chilequiles. Parking is ample and free which is a huge bonus! Their Flan is also exceptional (if it's not sold out!) read more

Four words....Surf and Turf Burrito. By far my favorite burrito in all of San Diego. Try it. If I'm wrong, let me know so I can shoot myself. Seriously, though. Their special chipotle sauce makes the taste ridiculous. I recommend avoiding a urinalysis after eating this as I think it's got crack in it. It's that good! read more

Meh. First time ordered 3 street tacos: carnitas, carne asada, chicken. They wanted to put guacamole and pico on there. No thank you, I only like cilantro, onion and lime. Carnitas was delicious. Wasn't a fan of the other two. My husband got a carne asada torta. That was delicious! Then we got the rolled tacos for the kids. They wouldn't eat it and after tasting it, I don't blame them. The horchata was good! Second time, we got carnitas tacos. Ordered same way with cilantro, onion and lime only. They still put pico on there. The carnitas were bland this time. The tortillas were hard. The horchata was not as good. Food is inconsistent in a big way. Won't be going back to gamble. Will just find a place with consistently delicious tacos. read more

The fish was perfectly battered, crispy on the outside, and flaky white on the inside. The fries were also nice and crispy. We also ordered the blackened fish tacos, which were packed with flavor from the very first bite. The service was excellent. The staff was attentive, professional, and welcoming. Several employees regularly checked on us throughout our meal to make sure everything was going well. The outdoor seating offers an incredible view of downtown San Diego, with boats passing by in the harbor. Combined with the perfect weather, it made for a wonderful dining experience. We can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

Their touch is still in place and I almost like them falling under the radar. It is really hard for me to isolate a single item, but if I had to I'd say to go classic with the fried fish taco.
