Came in after a suit fittings. Had the Surf and Turf Burrito with a side of Fries, and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh; burrito straight off the grill and fries straight out the fryer. Chef recommended I come back for their birria and I'm definitely coming back.

Caldo de Rez w/ corn tortillas
    Pat F.

I joined 2 friends here for lunch and immediately discovered that the strip mall ownership most likely thinks all of its patrons own Fiat 500's, Mini's, or motorcycles, because those are the only vehicles who can fit into their parking stalls which are only 80% the width of a typical parking lot stall. You can park on the street at paid metered parking. Once we arrived at Los Tapatios, we found their dining area (and even the kitchen area from what we could tell) was kept tidy and clean. There were ample tables for the lunch crowd. I was undecided between their taco salad bowl and their Caldo de Rez and asked the lady which would she order and she recommended their Caldo de Rez with corn tortillas. The other two ordered a California Burrito, and one of their salads, both of which were plentiful servings! My Caldo soup tasted great, the meat was tender, the broth was tasty, as was the hot tortillas. BUT the potato chunks were undercooked as it was a pain to cut them into smaller bite sized pieces with my metal spoon, and quite tough to chew. It was the only thing I could complain about. Maybe a one-time mistake, maybe that's how they cook it. But nevertheless, those were my only two negatives, the parking, and the potatoes in my Caldo de Rez. Outside of that, it's a great spot! I'd definitely eat there again, but I might need to ride my bicycle since their parking is one of the worst for a strip mall in all of San Diego.

3 mini tacos (carne asado, pollo, carnitas adobada)

The burritos here are huge for $7-$8! They're practically the size of your face. They load it up with your preferred filling and serve it fresh. I tried to get the fish tacos but unfortunately they were out. This time I got the 3 mini tacos, and let me tell you, they were not very "mini". They came with two soft corn tortillas and each one came with a scoop of guacamole! The three salsa flavors were all quite spicy and were not very good, but having a tray of limes was nice. The carnitas were the best tacos in terms of flavor. The carne asado were the driest and most lack luster. Overall, good place to get cheaper Mexican food.

This is another average, slightly overpriced taco shop that is frequented by the base and ship people. There's a good amount of seating, the menu has a lot of stuff. Staff is nice and the food came out quickly...but it wasn't crowded. I only got two potato tacos. Overall, they were alright, priced fairly. The potatoes did have some flavor. There are three salsas available, I only tried two of them, and I enjoyed the non-chunky red one..it has good flavor and just a little spiciness to it.

Ordered bacon breakfast wrap got ham breakfast wrap. Both salsas were lacking any type of heat.

Ordered a bacon breakfast wrap but got a ham breakfast wrap. Salsa was lacking any heat. Have been here many times on my trips to Whales Vag but this was the first time I was mildly disappointed.

Chorizo plate. Very good and tons of food!

Stopped in here for some breakfast and it was delicious! Nice and clean place with a huge menu. I ordered the Chorizo plate with flour tortillas. The plate was HUGE! $8.60! It was enough for two people. The beans and rice were good, the Chorizo and eggs were very fresh. A lot of times the chorizo is over cooked and dry or burnt. Not the case here, the chorizo was plentiful and cooked perfect. Great big breakfast for me!

2 cheese enchiladas and what's supposed to be rice and beans.
    Dorothy D.

We walked and and were told they close in 40 minutes. When in realty what they should have said is we don't want to serve you. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas combo with rice and beans. She did not tell us they already put the rice up for the night. I got 2 cheese ench with the cheese not even melting and half a plate of dried out beans. I wish they would not have wasted my money and just been honest. F you don't want to serve me then just tell me your closed. I wish I could give them no stars

    Tijuana Benedict with potatoes

This place is newly renovated, I had the Tijuana Benedict and it was delicious. The potatoes it came with are also very good. They have free coffee during breakfast also.

Chorizo con Nuevo combo for breakfast

First time at this location. A nice place to sit in and dine on some good Mexican food. I was planning on getting some errands done and needed a big breakfast to start the busy day. I chose the chorizo con Nuevo. My order came out fast. I was surprised how big the portions were. Nice hefty sized meal. Everything was good too. The rice and beans had great flavor. Nice salsa bar to add to your meal. Great hot carrots in the salsa bar. Nice dining area size. Plus plenty of parking. It's next to the 32nd naval base So I can see this place can get busy at lunch. Only minor thing is the inside is old and needs an upgrade and clean up. So many great choices for Mexican food in San Diego. Cool to find this one. I will return.

    Shredded beef "rolled taco"
    Jacob G.

Delicious and fast. This small Jalisco restaurant smells good when you walk in and the service is fast. I ordered the rolled hard tacos (taquitos) and requested shredded beef and the servers had no problem making it. 3 comes in an order and they do not disappoint. Crunchy on the outside and tender beef inside topped with their style guacamole, shredded lettuce salad and cheddar cheese. Personally I thought the green salsa taste best with the taquitos. I also ordered the Diablo burrito made w asada. The tortilla is homemade and the Diablo sauce definitely has a kick. This hearty burrito will definitely fill you up if you're up for the challenge!!

I'm always drawn to inventive seafood tacos, especially when they showcase different preparations, and this spot absolutely delivered. We sampled the blackened swordfish, the estilo Baja white fish (light, crisp, and exactly what you want from a classic), and started with the smoked fish dip all paired with margaritas that were dangerously smooth, more like fresh juice than a cocktail. Nothing missed the mark: from the rich, smoky dip to the perfectly seasoned blackened taco and the satisfying crunch of the fried option, each bite was thoughtfully executed. A detail I loved each order comes with two tacos, making it ideal for sharing and tasting your way through the menu. The freshness of the fish really shines and sets the tone for a proper taco crawl. Though the space is on the smaller side, with limited indoor seating and a cozy patio, it adds to the charm. It's the kind of intimate setting that invites you to linger, people watch, and take in the vibrant artwork that defines Barrio Logan. The staff is quick and detailed with honest feedback. A couple of notes: they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and parking is street-only, so plan accordingly. But once you're there, the flavors more than make up for any extra effort.

C-Level never disappoints. We were seated right away after about a five minute wait. I did have a reservation on OpenTable but when we got there, there were several challenges I believe in the seating area. Once we were seated, I noticed Chef Deborah walking around. She was greeting customers and being her very friendly and professional self. I was so impressed. We ordered.: Tempura Artichoke Appetizer, Fish and Chips, and a Chicken Caesar Salad. Everything was DELICIOUS! It was also awesome because Chef Deborah came by to greet us and talk to us and I had a chance to express how much I really like her Casa Gabriella restaurant in La Mesa. I told her how I have been a fan of her restaurants for a long time and I absolutely miss Bo Beau that used to be in Hillcrest, and then Ocean Beach. She updated me that it is now located in Long Beach, which is still good to know. Being able to dine and speak with the actual executive chef of this brand was awesome. Thank you, CRG for providing a wonderful lunch experience and for your consistency and delivering an excellent dining experience. I advise that people join their CRG Dining Loyalty Rewards.

The restaurant is in the heart of Gaslamp District, near Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center. It gives off a lively upscale, casual-elegant vibe that is perfect for date nights or group gatherings after work. The decor is sophisticated and rustic, and the large open windows give it a nice open-air feel. I was super impressed with the view on the second floor with the sophisticated decor and exquisite attention to detail. We decided to have dinner at the bar since we did not have reservations and there was a wait for a table. We were able to get seated at the bar right away. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and offered their food and drink recommendations. We ordered the calamari, brussels sprouts, lobster roll, and rib eye. Way too much food for two people but so worth it! The brussels sprouts were hearty and the calamari was nice and crunchy, topped with a zesty sauce. The lobster roll was served either Maine-style (cold) or Connecticut-style (warm). I ordered it cold and when it arrived, I did not leave a single crumb on the plate. The bun was buttered and nicely toasted with a massive amount of lobster filling in it. Served with fries, it was a great dish that left me satisfied but not overstuffed. My boyfriend had the ribeye and was cooked to his satisfaction. It was tender, salted well, and did not need any condiments added. We will definitely be back when we're in town!

San Diegans are very friendly people. While searching for a bar to get the night started, we were approached by a Padre fan. He recommended us to go to the Water Grill as is usually not congested and had great food. While we followed him to the restaurant, we noticed a lot of nearby bars around Petco Park congested and full. The Water Grill on the other hand was busy, but not congested and had availability at the bar and dine in. Just because it says seafood, doesn't mean the drinks are expensive. The drinks were reasonably priced, and comparing it to the stadium, the drinks were cheap. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Free sourdough bread was offered, where then came our food. The poke (appetizer) was fresh, light and tasty. Nothing too excessive that will fill you up, but will leave you content until you enter the stadium to sample their offerings. The fish and chips was of quality and crisp from beginning to end. The sourdough bread ws delicious and was accompanied by whipped butter. The oysters were fresh, and there was a variety of oysters. If you try the sampler, you will be able to taste oysters from the Atlantic ocean and Pacific ocean. There is a difference in taste due to the environment, but I'll leave that up to your taste buds. This establishment offered a wide variety of beers. They also have a full bar. The prices are very reasonable. I did wish that they offer a happy hour menu, even if it was only at the bar. There's potential, but I'm sure the Water Grill wants to maintain a higher level of service but putting exceptional care in delivering food and service.
