We were looking for somewhere different to try some good Mexican food and we found Tuza-Bor online and saw they had decent reviews so decided to give them a shot. We went during the period between lunch and dinner hours on a Friday so there weren't a lot of customers at that time. Tuza is located in a small shopping plaza near the shipyards. They have a parking lot available but they share it with other businesses so I'm sure there are times when it's full. We walked in and noticed how clean and well lit the dining room was. We also took note that they had a karaoke machine playing with some popular music. It was a pretty cool atmosphere. We were greeted by an employee who was kind and patient while we looked over the menu. We both ended up ordering burritos which come with chips and salsa on the side. Food came out quickly and was piping hot. My carne asada burrito was absolutely delicious. I don't often see this type of burrito come with cheese melted inside and wasn't sure if I would like that but it was amazing and I would definitely order it again. Their salsa is tasty as well. Prices are average for Mexican food in San Diego these days. We were told that they get really busy at night with the karaoke. I highly recommend Tuza-Bor. read more

Los Tapatios is located in San Diego right off Main Street and 28th street serving up quick and fast Mexican food with specials daily. After passing by the restaurant daily I decided to drop by and catch one of there specials I see posted up in colorfol words on the windows. It so happened the day was Wednesday so for that day they were having specials on fish tacos. I went ahead and grabbed some fish tacos and a bean burrito. Inside is very decorative with TVs playing and artwork to look at while waiting for your food. Not much long after waiting our order was called to pick up. The bean burrito was was looking hefty than ever while the fish tacos were looking colorful and tasty. The bean burrito had a nice warm temperature to it with the creaminess of refried beans and sharp cheddar cheese filling the warm tortilla. The cheddar cheese wasn't melted but thats okay. I went ahead and complimented it with one of there house green salsas and it hit the spot. The fish tacos were nice and filling that were garnished with tomatoes and sliced cabbage. Los tapatios is a great spot for quick food on the go with daily specials throughout the week. I joined 2 friends here for lunch and immediately discovered that the strip mall ownership most likely thinks all of its patrons own Fiat 500's, Mini's, or motorcycles, because those are the only vehicles who can fit into their parking stalls which are only 80% the width of a typical parking lot stall. You can park on the street at paid metered parking. Once we arrived at Los Tapatios, we found their dining area (and even the kitchen area from what we could tell) was kept tidy and clean. There were ample tables for the lunch crowd. I was undecided between their taco salad bowl and their Caldo de Rez and asked the lady which would she order and she recommended their Caldo de Rez with corn tortillas. The other two ordered a California Burrito, and one of their salads, both of which were plentiful servings! My Caldo soup tasted great, the meat was tender, the broth was tasty, as was the hot tortillas. BUT the potato chunks were undercooked as it was a pain to cut them into smaller bite sized pieces with my metal spoon, and quite tough to chew. It was the only thing I could complain about. Maybe a one-time mistake, maybe that's how they cook it. But nevertheless, those were my only two negatives, the parking, and the potatoes in my Caldo de Rez. Outside of that, it's a great spot! I'd definitely eat there again, but I might need to ride my bicycle since their parking is one of the worst for a strip mall in all of San Diego. read more

The burritos here are huge for $7-$8! They're practically the size of your face. They load it up with your preferred filling and serve it fresh. I tried to get the fish tacos but unfortunately they were out. This time I got the 3 mini tacos, and let me tell you, they were not very "mini". They came with two soft corn tortillas and each one came with a scoop of guacamole! The three salsa flavors were all quite spicy and were not very good, but having a tray of limes was nice. This is another average, slightly overpriced taco shop that is frequented by the base and ship people. There's a good amount of seating, the menu has a lot of stuff. Stopped in here for some breakfast and it was delicious! Nice and clean place with a huge menu. I ordered the Chorizo plate with flour tortillas. The plate was HUGE! $8.60! It was enough for two people. The beans and rice were good, the Chorizo and eggs were very fresh. A lot of times the chorizo is over cooked and dry or burnt. I ordered the rolled hard tacos (taquitos) and requested shredded beef and the servers had no problem making it. 3 comes in an order and they do not disappoint. Crunchy on the outside and tender beef inside topped with their style guacamole, shredded lettuce salad and cheddar cheese. Personally I thought the green salsa taste best with the taquitos. quality breakfast burrito this morning from this taco shop which I pass daily but have never previously stopped at before. it was before 8:00am and it looked completely empty so figured I would try it out, especially since breakfast burritos are my favorite thing to order at Mexican shops! the decor was similar to many other similar shops in San Diego but had some nice color mixed in. there are many tables to sit at and the booths were comfortable. Both the young girl and the gentleman working at the counter were very nice and gave great service. I went to try this place because my bf recommended it. The place is awesome. The service was friendly,there were places to sit if that's what you wanted to do. And the food came out quickly. The burrito was huge, but delicious. Seasoned nicely, everything was spaced out great(where you get the same ingredients in every bite) and the fries were crispy. I enjoyed every bite.
