Good food. The salmon was awesome! Good service. Friendly staff. Ambiance is very vintage.

You just don't find places like Tweeds anymore. Old school ambiance, great cocktail menu, excellent wine list and straight forward steak house fare (featuring Bison, which frankly I don't care for) Don't be alarmed of you don't care for Bison either. There are plenty of other selections. Service is very friendly. Tweeds is really an experience and it's one worth trying for yourself.

What a unique establishment with lots of history! There were so many interesting local artifacts on the walls that were as rich as their offerings on the menu. We came for lunch one day, after many years of driving past Tweeds. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive wait staff and excellent food! Not many food offerings for the non-red-meat eater, but to be expected here. (There are some seafood, chicken, and duck offerings.) The lighting was very dim even in the afternoon, but I was delighted by the light-up menus when you open them! My favorite were the grilled bison kebabs, which were cooked to perfection and just the right texture and juiciness! We don't tend the eat red meat very often but would definitely visit here again when the opportunity presents itself!

Quaint cozy establishment with tons of personality. Ordered the bison burger. Was cooked perfectly and huge. Thai calamari was delicious. The crispy fries were the best. Service was wonderful. Friendly staff.

This is a review of a Sunday dinner in early September. The restaurant is located in the heart of Riverhead, a nice walk from the Hyatt. We had no trouble getting a reservation, the restaurant was about 2/3 full on arrival. The decor is old school atmospheric, reflecting the buffalo theme. Service was a bit erratic, the server brought my cocktail to the table next to ours, which had the benefit of leading to a conversation with the couple occupying it. We shared a starter of bacon wrapped scallops, which were appropriately crisp and tasty. I enjoyed a bison rib steak, which was accompanied by mashed potatoes and broccoli, although I have to say a prime steer steak is going to provide a more luxurious, albeit unhealthy, experience. La Portena's entree was, if memory serves shrimp scampi, accompanied by wild rice and veggies. This pleased. I might have given only four stars, but the true highlight of the evening was the piano player/vocalist. Classic American songbook, delivered with verve. No music charge. Had a nice conversation with him after the set. So much better than the lousy sound systems most restaurants seem to have these days. I would return for dinner, or a drink at the bar.

This place always has amazing food, service, and ambience. Our server Taylor was amazing, pleasant and super likable. Thanm you Tweeds for the amazing Bison burger!

I had seen a special on News 12 about Tweed's and I wanted to visit Tweed's to see what it was about. We went there for lunch. We ordered the bison burger with American cheese. The lunch came with large potato wedges. The food portions were just right. Enough to fill you but not overstuff you. The wedges were really tasty and crisp. The burger was cooked well but the extra charge of $3 for a slice of cheese for each burger is pretty steep, definitely not worth $3. Skip the cheese. Personally, I am not sure if you gave me a bison burger or regular beef burger if I could taste the difference. The atmosphere is interesting. Lots of historical pictures and articles and of course the bison head. Unfortunately many of the items are mounted behind the tables, so it's awkward to look over people while they are eating to see the items. Overall it's a nice place to try out and good food. I would go there again if I was in the area

This was a great find! We were on Long Island off season (end of April) and were looking for a nice place for lunch. I found this through Yelp. We were thrilled. There is ample parking in the rear. The ambience was lovely; Dimly lit, comfortable, friendly. The menus are backlit which is a definite plus! The food was amazing! Everything was flavorful and delicious! The oysters were gigantic and tender. Our waitress was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Place full of ambiance. Our friends overdid it the night before and were in desperate need of Bloody Marys so we decided to stop at Tweeds. The Bloody Mary was yummy, the shrimp cocktail legit. Service was friendly and patient with our bunch. Didn't try the food but will definitely come back when we are in the area.

We had an early 6p reservation on a Friday and were the only people there initially. By the time we were leaving it was packed with happy groups filling the tables and the bar seats were full. Our servers were lovely and quick. A man next to the bar was playing lovely music on the piano and singing. I ordered the prime rib - make sure to talk to the server about it first! It's sliced then grilled, which I liked a lot, but know that's not the typical serving for prime rib. The potatoes were amazing! My partner got the bison filet and loved it. While I thought the veggies were a little under cooked - he thought they were perfect. He enjoyed a nice bourbon on the rocks with one big fat cube, which he loves. The only disappointment was the brownie a la mode for dessert. It was very clearly store bought and just not very good. Maybe I'd try a different dessert in the future, but would prefer something made in house. All around great spot in Riverhead and will definitely be returning. I bet it would be beautiful around the holidays!

Who knew I loved bison? The bison filet mignon is outstanding! I loved that the menus light up because the restaurant is dark with an entirely unique vibe of bison heads on the wall and dark wood bar and table - The bison filet mignon is outstanding! I loved that the menus light up because the restaurant is kind of dark kind of looks like a 70s bar, but not in a bad way, just lots of character. On the weekends, there is a piano player that sets the stage for a really fun evening. Definitely go here!

Once we got there; with our luck, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a few mins because their system was down. Which is understandable. As we wait, the couple after us had made reservations for 2 and their table was ready. First impressions matter to me and there is no reason for inconsistency when it comes to reservations. Finally, after a few more mins, they found us a table. Once we sat, and we ordered some water, they decided to moves us again to another table. Now im bothered but I didn't want that to ruin my night. The waitress took our order for drinks and food. The whisky sour was ok and our wait for food began. The couple next to us had their appetizers and main entrees served before we even got our appetizers. I understand it may have been busy, but everyone around was getting there food quicker, lack of attention. We finally got our entrees and the dishes were ok. My duck was cooked perfectly but my wife's dish lacked some flavor. She had to be careful because the fish had fish bones and we had thought they had taken those out. As we waited for the food I noticed that the owner was walking around and greeting the customers and finding out how the food was. I believe that every owner should follow this man's footsteps because he was very attentive to all and I feel that he turned our experience around for the better. Once we finished, he asked us about the food and what brought us there. Conversation with him was great and easy. We mentioned to him that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a dessert and coffee. This dessert was incredible and his sweet gesture made the experience so much better. I hope to return one day and give them another chance. I would say try this restaurant and make sure you make reservations because the restaurant is always full.
