Good food. The salmon was awesome! Good service. Friendly staff. Ambiance is very vintage.

You just don't find places like Tweeds anymore. Old school ambiance, great cocktail menu, excellent wine list and straight forward steak house fare (featuring Bison, which frankly I don't care for) Don't be alarmed of you don't care for Bison either. There are plenty of other selections. Service is very friendly. Tweeds is really an experience and it's one worth trying for yourself.

What a unique establishment with lots of history! There were so many interesting local artifacts on the walls that were as rich as their offerings on the menu. We came for lunch one day, after many years of driving past Tweeds. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive wait staff and excellent food! Not many food offerings for the non-red-meat eater, but to be expected here. (There are some seafood, chicken, and duck offerings.) The lighting was very dim even in the afternoon, but I was delighted by the light-up menus when you open them! My favorite were the grilled bison kebabs, which were cooked to perfection and just the right texture and juiciness! We don't tend the eat red meat very often but would definitely visit here again when the opportunity presents itself!

Quaint cozy establishment with tons of personality. Ordered the bison burger. Was cooked perfectly and huge. Thai calamari was delicious. The crispy fries were the best. Service was wonderful. Friendly staff.

This is a review of a Sunday dinner in early September. The restaurant is located in the heart of Riverhead, a nice walk from the Hyatt. We had no trouble getting a reservation, the restaurant was about 2/3 full on arrival. The decor is old school atmospheric, reflecting the buffalo theme. Service was a bit erratic, the server brought my cocktail to the table next to ours, which had the benefit of leading to a conversation with the couple occupying it. We shared a starter of bacon wrapped scallops, which were appropriately crisp and tasty. I enjoyed a bison rib steak, which was accompanied by mashed potatoes and broccoli, although I have to say a prime steer steak is going to provide a more luxurious, albeit unhealthy, experience. La Portena's entree was, if memory serves shrimp scampi, accompanied by wild rice and veggies. This pleased. I might have given only four stars, but the true highlight of the evening was the piano player/vocalist. Classic American songbook, delivered with verve. No music charge. Had a nice conversation with him after the set. So much better than the lousy sound systems most restaurants seem to have these days. I would return for dinner, or a drink at the bar.

I had seen a special on News 12 about Tweed's and I wanted to visit Tweed's to see what it was about. We went there for lunch. We ordered the bison burger with American cheese. The lunch came with large potato wedges. The food portions were just right. Enough to fill you but not overstuff you. The wedges were really tasty and crisp. The burger was cooked well but the extra charge of $3 for a slice of cheese for each burger is pretty steep, definitely not worth $3. Skip the cheese. Personally, I am not sure if you gave me a bison burger or regular beef burger if I could taste the difference. The atmosphere is interesting. Lots of historical pictures and articles and of course the bison head. Unfortunately many of the items are mounted behind the tables, so it's awkward to look over people while they are eating to see the items. Overall it's a nice place to try out and good food. I would go there again if I was in the area

This was a great find! We were on Long Island off season (end of April) and were looking for a nice place for lunch. I found this through Yelp. We were thrilled. There is ample parking in the rear. The ambience was lovely; Dimly lit, comfortable, friendly. The menus are backlit which is a definite plus! The food was amazing! Everything was flavorful and delicious! The oysters were gigantic and tender. Our waitress was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Place full of ambiance. Our friends overdid it the night before and were in desperate need of Bloody Marys so we decided to stop at Tweeds. The Bloody Mary was yummy, the shrimp cocktail legit. Service was friendly and patient with our bunch. Didn't try the food but will definitely come back when we are in the area.

It was the same beer called devolve. I liked the beer it was light with a nice fruity taste. Northfork looks like they set up shop in a garage which is pretty cool, they designed it well but I wonder how they stay open in the winter. I did like the atmosphere of nice fresh air coming in from outside. I liked North Fork definitely a good brewery to check out!

Super nice and approachable, let us sample anything we wanted. I went with a flight to start out with since there was a nice variety of options. I'm not an IPA person, so I opted for a peach sour, a pilsner, a wheat beer and one wild card that was bitter but in a good way. I love a good sour and had to get a second glass of the peach beer after my flight. Prices are reasonable, flights are around $12 for four pours, and a draft beer is $9. They also have cans to go if there's a beer you fall in love with and want to take home with you. They have a rotating food truck out back (it was Greek food when we came here) and also had a few empanadas. We did the three for $13 and got a variety. Our bartender accommodated us by leaving the black bean one on a separate plate since one of us don't eat meat. Ambiance here is chill and laid back, there are several games you can play and there was live music you could hear playing from next door at Montauk Distilling Co. which was a nice touch. A solid place to spend a nice Sunday - I was honestly surprised they weren't packed.

The food was great, and were we not stuffed from lunch, we definitely would've gotten some dessert. They all sounded amazing, but we were just too full. This place has a great menu with lots of things that caught my eye. I finally landed on their French Dip, which is one of the best I've had. The meat was ribeye, and it was tender and soft, not to mention moist. The au jus was flavorful and not too salty. The French bread had just enough crunch, but was also soft and easy to bite into. With the melted cheese and caramelized onions, it had amazing flavor!! My grandson and granddaughter split a grilled cheese that looked amazing. My daughter ordered the Bang Bang shrimp tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband ordered a drunken chicken melt, which is essentially chicken parm with vodka sauce. He loved it !! Unfortunately, I don't remember what my son-in-law ordered, nor do I have a photo of it. Oops ! I wished my daughter and her family lived closer to Riverhead cuz I would ask to go here all the time. By far and away the worst I've experienced. I took away a star for this reason. The new spot aesthetically is just okay. As always with local restauranteurs little to no attention paid to the noise level. My ears were bleeding throughout dinner. The restaurant needs decor which creates a warmer inviting presence. Our food was delicious but the wait time for the meals and drinks was insufferable. BTW, the wait time for the check was equally as painful. We ordered fried calamari as appetizers and a zuppa di pesce - while zuppa is translated as soup in English, the dish is closer to what may be considered a fish stew. In addition to the fried calamari we also ordered a large salad that we split. Cova is a unique restaurant that serves dinner in a family-style format. This means that the entrees are designed to be shared between two or four people. While the food is excellent, for a hungry person, the amount per serving is not worth the price. Unfortunately, the cappuccino maker was not in service, so I ordered a regular cup of decaffeinated coffee. Regrettably, the coffee was not to my liking. The Takeaways: 1. The food is very tasty. 2. The coffee is not good. 3. The price to portion ration is poor. 4. Parking is ample. 5. Make reservations.
