Everything we try at Twelve 28 Kitchen is absolutely phenomenal. You can tell that Chef Zach is truly passionate about his craft. The menu features seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, and the service and décor are just as elevated as the food. It's romantic enough for a date but also welcoming if you want to bring little ones. Our favorite dish on our most recent visit was Pork and a Pancake... crispy pork belly on a Japanese okonomiyaki pancake with ramen noodles. It had the perfect balance of flavors: sweetness from the Asian BBQ sauce and apples, umami from the pork belly and egg yolk jam, and a tart, rich yuzu aioli. Every bite was satisfying and memorable.

This place is top notch!!! Service was outstanding with the waitress giving perfect recommendations to the owner coming by and checking in on us a couple of times. We started off by having a bottle of their house wine $25 for a very good tasting Cab. For our appetizer we had a tomato salad that had cheesecake bites in it (very interesting and tasty). For dinner I had the stuffed pasta which was very good and flavorful. The wife had the duck and in her words the "best duck she has ever had". The duck was so tender and great flavors. Wish I could give higher review rating

Another year, another wonderful meal and welcoming service! My friends were impressed with the flavors, the presentation and the fact that we could carry on a conversation without raising our voices. Still a top recommendation.

Wows all around! I love this place. I came here with a friend to celebrate an engagement and it was the perfect restaurant. I loved the unique flavor and texture combinations, and the presentation. This chef knows his stuff! I loved that it was clearly family run and everyone was so friendly. Families and kids were welcome and I felt comfortable there even though I was not dressed fancy at all. I will come here every time I visit Grass valley. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Always the best, most imaginative and well presented food in the county. Chef makes fabulous meals of local and seasonal produce and his family and staff make the entire meal a treat from entry to exit. The service here is so attentive and unobtrusive, always my favorite. Dessert was killer good, we shared the Crepe Cake, holy cow, so good! Look at this masterpiece, fall flavored crepes stacked, with apple compote, cream and caramel, I could eat it everyday. Thank you!

We were seated quickly, drinks were served fast and our order was taken promptly. I ordered the BLT and he ordered the "special", with sliders. The BLT was pretty standard and pretty good. The fries were excellent. It was pricey in my mind, but not compared to other places in the area. My nephew ordered a mixture of pork and buffalo chicken sliders. It was $14, which is a great price for the area. When his order arrived, it was only pork sliders. However, they were so good he decided not to say anything. He was very happy. When we were ready for the check, I told our server Kierney about the mixup with the nephews order. I told her we weren't complaining, we were happy with our meals, but she needed to know so she could understand where the error was made and make corrections for future guests. To our surprise, Kierney came back a few minutes later with a buffalo chicken slider. It was above and beyond, we were both very impressed. That slider was delicious too, according to my nephew. Overall, it was excellent experience and we are very pleased to have Kierney was our server. Despite the mix reviews on Yelp, I highly recommend trying this place.

My ex father in law owned a house there until he needed to go to assisted living a few years ago. He has always been like a father to me. He is 91 and loves to eat here. Over the years it has been hit and miss until now. The new chef is innovative and the food is delicious. My saffron noodles with prawns were wonderful. Dads salmon was cooked perfectly. We could not have been happier. The sad news was that there was only one other couple dining. A sign of the times, and a sign of too many iffy chefs until now. The dining room is pleasant. It over looks the golf course. A little jitney will come and pick you up in the parking lot if it is raining, or if you need a little extra assistance. What service! I do hope the word will spread and the dining room will fill up and the chef will get the accolades he deserves. You do not need to be a member to eat here. When you make a reservation, just tell them to call down to the main gate. They will then let you in under your name when you arrive. My Dad left smiling and content. Basking in the many memories of this place. We held his 90th birthday celebration here last year. How remarkable is that!
