The bartender and (maybe manager on duty) other staff were kind. I ordered dinner at 9:55 not knowing the kitchen closes at 10. Originally kitchen staff allegedly gave the bartender an issue but she and mgr repeatedly reassured me it was fine. The bartender did get my order a little wrong, putting in pork belly instead of pulled pork, but I didn't want to deal with all that after the apparent kitchen staff issue. Food: 6.1/10 Price: 7/10. For meat a little steep, but for the sides, pretty decent. Beer prices average. Appetizer and Food both took about 25 minutes- i assume this is due to maybe 1-2 people working kitchen given the day and time. BRISKET QUESADILLA: 7/10, a little overstuffed, but fresh and tender. WHISKEY SAUCE: 2/10. we get it, there's whiskey in the name. but it's WAY too much whiskey flavor. I can't imagine someone who is indifferent to whiskey enjoying this. CAROLINA SAUCE: 8/10 good, tangy mustard based sauce. ALOHA: 5/10 Okay. Weird texture in the sauce? A little thin for my liking for a hawaiian type sauce.! CHICKEN LEG: 7/10 the skin/rub was WIMPY, the meat itself was wonderful and tender. If the skin had been crispy it could be a solid 9. RIBS: 6/10 Dry, not tender, somehow overcooked, but with good flavor. Mancini's bread not included in rating because it's not unique to the restaurant. Pickled veg not included because I didn't try it. OVER ALL: 3/5 I can see myself returning to try the wings with the carolina sauce, but otherwise it was not that impressive. I've been here twice over the past 2 weeks and finding more and more items that I love. Really enjoyed the Wednesday BYO burger starting at $6. Made for a fun combo. Came back for the smoked wings and enjoyed their sauces. They are smoked 2.5 hours then flash fried. Also had their crispy pork belly flatbread which had great flavor. The bread was super soft which I enjoyed. If you're looking for it to be crispy like pizza dough I'd ask for maybe a little longer of a cook. This is a BBQ restaurant but none of the food tastes like BBQ. No smokey flavor, no smoke rings, was this food cooked in an oven? Or was it cooked on a propane grill? Either way, , the food was cold, the ribs were tough and fatty. It took a while for it to come out. The white sauce is not Alabama white sauce, it was yellow and had no flavor. The Carolina sauce was mustard based, I assume because it was yellow, however they should have specified. There are two types of Carolina BBQ sauce, north and south, mustard or vinegar. But none of that matters because the sauces were flavorless. We even got the spicy added at the end, nope, it wasn't spicy and it was bland. The brisket was a thick slab of shoe leather. No flavor, not sure how they achieved a bark on the brisket and it came out tasting like NOTHING. Did I mention it was cold, because it was cold. The pulled pork, had zero flavor and it was GRAY in color. Gray meat is never a good thing which means it may have been boiled or parboiled before they put it in the oven or propane grill, both have the same effect. All the meat tasted just like that, meat. Really tough and unflavored meat. There were three positives, Our server was super NICE The pickled cucumbers and onions were AMAZING. The corn cake was EPIC. Last thing I'd like to say, I did not order any alcohol but that seems to be a big focal point. So I guess if you drink, come here, get a 32oz margarita, get drunk and you won't notice the disgusting food. The food LOOKS good when it comes out but then I realized there was no smell, no warmth, and the colors of the meat were off. Oh their bathrooms are nice and very clean. read more

Great beers. I've seen their beer distributors come in to chat about what beers they will have on rotation and they definitely put a lot of thought into it!! It shows!! I only drink sours and I'm grateful that they usually include a good one on rotation. Best sweet potato fries in the world. Their wings, ribs and burgers are great. It's located on e Carson at so parking is where ever you can find a place. As long as you don't go during peak hours of young drinkers you'll be fine. The inside is rustic and modern. Stopped in here, not by choice, but because Urban Tap was unexpectedly closed & it was pouring/freezing rain and I needed to grab a quick bite for dinner before a show at Club Cafe. I was surprised how totally packed the place was on a Sunday evening at 6pm. I was also surprised there was a bouncer at the door. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when most everyone out evenings on Carson St is under age 30, so they do a lot of carding. This place was no exception. It was super loud & no one looked to be over 25. I also saw someone on YELP posted a photo detailing their rather extreme dress code, which was kind of weird for a restaurant. I was definitely a little skeptical but needed food, so got one of the remaining tiny booth tables next to the packed bar. I was given a menu within 5 minutes & my order was taken fairly promptly. They had a featured special & some special beers of the month so I went with a $4 Ale that was decent & ordered a turkey burger. I was pleasantly surprised that my turkey burger was actually quite delicious & the bun was super soft. It came with a huge pile of fresh waffle cut fries. Everything was hot. I got my tab promptly when I asked for it as well & was out of there within 45 minutes. As a patron who "isn't under 30" this place would not be my choice for evening dining. The noise level was deafening, like being in a club as opposed to a restaurant. But, my food & service were good despite the noisy packed atmosphere so I had to go with 4 stars. The wings were smoked and had a good taste but could have used more sauce. They weren't very spicy either. The sandwich was big! It had peppers, onions and queso inside. The roll the sandwich was on was fresh. For an app, we had the crap and corn dip, which was on special. It was served with pita chips and was delicious. I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars! I ordered a meal online and went to pick it up. The place was completely packed and 2 amateur bouncers told me that I couldn't pick up the food that I paid for because they were busy throwing a party. I had to muscle my way through a crowd of people and I actually went back to the kitchen where the cook had my food just sitting on the table in the back (guess he couldn't be bothered to bring it up to the bar). I took my food and when I got home, I realized that they forgot one side that I paid for. The grilled chicken was the driest chicken I've ever tasted. The fries tasted like frozen fries from a school cafeteria lunch. The brussel sprouts had no seasoning and were steamed so by the time I got home they were mushy. I ordered the buffalo blue burger.. think it was called that. It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Bursting with flavor.. my taste buds were singing and no doubt that burger was a 'life changer" (my reference to anything that blows my mind). We ordered the Cajun - wet style wings for an appetizer and they were dam good - super flavorful. The service was great. I checked out the ladies room (but of course) and the décor is so cute.. and was clean. Prices not bad - typical. Our meal came to about $40.00 which was standard. I noticed there was a dj stand too.. cant wait to go back for that some evening! I was actually pleasantly surprised with this place since it sounded like in the previous Yelp reviews that the service was bad, drinks weak and food not so good. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and the waitress came right over to take our order. They have daily happy hour specials and the Thursday night we went it was half off apps and half off specialty cocktails and a $5 burger. Since it was a BBQ joint we had to try the meats so we ordered the nachos with pulled pork to start and got some margaritas too. First of all, the nachos came and the portion was crazy huge we didn't think we could make a dent but they were so good and the margaritas went down so easily next thing we knew the nachos were gone and we had another round of margaritas on the table. We had all ordered dinner before we got the nachos which meant we had to get to go boxes because we were too full from the nachos. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of meat and 2 sides (your choice from a list of 8) with dinner. Our table got ribs and brisket with a bunch of different sides. My favorite sides were the cornbread, mac n cheese and waffle fries. I probably would stay away from the cheesy corn. The brisket was smoked perfectly and tender and delicious-ribs were super tasty. I have been here a few times but never really ordered food from here just drinks. My friend and I went here the other day for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered pulled pork sliders, fried pickles and a trash can drink (I think). Everything was really good. I'd definitely order the sliders and fried pickles again I'm not sure about the drink it was so big I barely put a dent in it. I'm sure I could of finished it if I didn't stuff myself with the sliders and pickles. The service was decent. It was very loud when we were there since they were playing jeopardy but I was tolerable. I ordered a Irish coffee and they were unfortunately out of the ingredients to make one. I ended up going with the manmosa and I was super disappointed. I'm not sure if it was the glass itself or something in it but it had a very funky smell/taste. I couldn't even finish the drink because it was so gross. For my entree I got the hangover hog bowl. It was a little smaller than I expected it to be but it was still filling. It was decent but it wasn't anything worth raving about. Tasted pretty basic in my personal opinion. Came in for brunch on a Saturday around 12 and we were able to be seated immediately. The service seemed a little slow and it took the waitress awhile to even acknowledge us. The food was so good though, so it evened out. I had the pulled pork brunch sliders and my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito. LOVE TWELVE! We frequent here very often for their brunch on Saturday & Sunday's! This is always our first stop on Sunday Fundays and always have a blast! They have a good variety of food. My favorite is the chicken tenders & you can pick any wing sauce. They also have a large Bloody Mary with a meal on it & trash cans! Every time I post them on social media I get blown up with how good they look! Good vibes! I was home visiting for the holidays and decided to come here for brunch. I have only been here for drinks to watch a pens game and the food always looked good so I knew it was a must try. The location is great being right on E Carson Street and is a quick drive if you're staying in Shadyside, North Shore, or Downtown. The only thing is parking can be a pain in the butt, but I'm used to it being a Pittsburgh native. It was a great atmosphere and I liked all of the TVs with sports on. I liked the rustic feel to it. Our service was great! Our server helped us pick out suggestions for our meals and was very attentive and made sure that our waters were always filled, which was great since we were hurting from the night before. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The portions are a good size and there are so many options on the menu for anything you're in the mood for. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy and it had fried chicken on it - literally amazing. I got the bloody mary with all of the fixings on skewers - definitely served as my meal. There were cheese cubes, waffle fries, a cheeseburger slider, grilled cheese, and a piece of fried chicken. I love bloody mary's and even more, bloody mary's with all of the fixings.
