Fellow Yelpers, thank you very much for writing reviews about this restaurant so that I would be inspired to try it out! :) I guess that this restaurant is actually called Off the Rails Barbeque. Their menu includes entrees such as ribs, brisket, and pulled pork as well as appetizers such as nachos, fries, and macaroni that are topped with the meats. Sides include baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, collard greens, and potato chips. My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. An employee immediately greeted us and gave us menus to look at. She told us that we could sit at any table of our liking. Many tables were available inside and outside, and I appreciated that the walls were open for fresh ventilation. We ordered our appetizers, and the employee told us that ribs would not be available to order for another half hour, so we waited for them. Our loaded nachos and loaded fries were topped with similar ingredients of shredded meat, jalapeno peppers, gooey cheese, and a sauce. The ingredients were fresh, and we enjoyed the flavors. Most likely the worse service I have ever had in a restaurant. I arrived at 7:15 and went to counter to order take away. The girl at counter was extremely rude and short tempered. I tried to order 4 different items and was told they were out of that item. I then asked what is available ? Then she went to get the manager and he took the time to show me what they had left. I ended up ordering 2 chicken sandwiches and was asked chips or fries. I asked for fries. When I paid the check he told me the fries were a 3 dollar upgrade. Really? This one of the best, if not THE best food truck in Pgh if you are looking for delicious bbq! Not for those on a diet, but if you're going to a food truck, I'm pretty sure you're not thinking about that. We were fortunate enough to have been at the Grist House when the Oakmont BBQ Company was there. The brisket...dear Lord the Brisket...not only was it mouthwatering delicious, it graced itself upon a soft, billowing, pillow of homemade Mac and cheese. I know! What?!? Heaven, that's what. I found this food truck outside of Grist House in Pittsburg. I tried two different things off their menu, the pork nachos and the brisket mac n cheese. The pork nachos are good but I felt that they needed more BBQ sauce. They are not greedy with toppings and came with plenty of pork! They were also smothered in nacho cheese sauce. The brisket mac n cheese was definitely my favorite. The mac n cheese tasted home made and was the perfect consistency. It was loaded with falling apart brisket and drenched in a smokey BBQ sauce. This is a match made in BBQ heaven. The portion is also HUGE! Plenty for 2 to share. The food came out delish and very quick. read more

This food truck came to our Employee Food Truck Roundup. I had the Brisket Mac and couldn't finish the portions were HUGE! The Mac was creamy and the brisket was done perfectly with a delicious Smokey flavor that wasn't overwhelming like some can be. Tried the brisket sandwich from the mobile kitchen. I was not really impressed. There were no ingredients other than the meat, bread, and a couple bottles of sauce to choose from. The brisket itself was a little dry and definitely bland. It tasted like it had been sitting in the crock pot for quite a few hours by the time I bit into it. I think they need to marinate or baste the meat before cooking so it absorbs some of that flavor in the process. Barely a sandwich was offered with a bag of chips. A bag of Lays chips! Came in at over 12 bucks...which is what a sit down meal costs at a brick and mortar restaurant around these parts. This is curb food. Please price accordingly. I don't know. It's tough to come back from this. If they got some kind of hearty side to go with, like homemade chips or waffle fries or something, I could see paying this price as a quarterly treat. The last time I got fast food this inexpensive for this price point was at the food court in a Las Vegas casino. I would advise, respectfully, take a look at the model you're trying to establish. I wasn't a fan of the ribs. They seemed bland and dry and tough. But the pulled pork nachos were possibly the greatest things I've ever eaten. So good that I've gone back every weekend for 3 weeks in a row. Hopefully they get the ribs down better... read more

We were able to finally get to try this BBQ place as they were at the food truck event at the Monroeville Convention Center this weekend. They did not disappoint! We had the brisket sandwich and pulled pork mac and cheese! It was so good I totally forgot to take pictures before we completely devoured the entire meal! These guys were posted up at Grist House this past Saturday evening, and I'm really happy they were. At their recommendation, I had a barbacoa sandwich and was blown away. Their mild and hot sauces--both their own recipes--were delicious as well. The sandwich was so good, my buddy and I went back an hour later and split a pulled pork sandwich. Equally as delicious. To top it off, the guys serving the food were top notch and fun to chat with. Very kind and considerate. I hope to have some of their grub again soon. Thanks, gents! read more

I got to try Oakmont BBQ at the Verona Food truck round up at the farmers market. I was disappointed that the sign said no ribs today , and as I stood in line to get Brisket Mac; someone came out and crossed the brisket items off the menu board......was getting worried that by the time I get to window that pulled pork would be out also BUT it wasn't and I have Pulled Pork Mac & cheese. Was definitely worth the wait. Very filling portion and had regular BBQ sauce added over top and it was fantastic. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu .Would highly recommend trying them when you see them. read more

I had the best barbeque I have ever tasted this past weekend from the Oakmont BBQ Company. I have tried BBQ from all over the US and Oakmont BBQ is the best without question! The Brisket was perfectely smoked and very tender, the bun it was on was really fresh and was definitely from a bakery made the same day. I tried everything they had. After devouring my brisket sandwich, I had some of my wife's pulled pork sandwich, it was also very tender and tasty. They make there own sauce and have it in mild or hot. I used the mild sauce, which was really good, but the meat is great without any sauce at all. I had the Turkey ribs which I never heard of until I tried them there, they were delicious! I also got a half rack of the smoked baby back ribs to go and they were so good I did not put any sauce on them, they have a dry rub on them that is really delicious! They have a nice new, very large food trailer. It is all clean stainless steel inside that makes you feel good about eating from a food truck. They have a web page and it has a calendar to tell you where the truck will be located. If it is within 15 miles of you, it is worth the drive, you will not regret making the trip. read more
