If you are looking for amazing BBQ in the PGH area, look no further. This is it! I stopped here when I was headed back to the city from the airport and had amazing brisket, Mac and cheese, fries, and sweet tea and lemonade. I got an apple cobbler to go (actually saved it for the next day and it was still absolutely delicious). They have at least 8 different types of BBQ sauce here, which was super fun to try them all. There is one for everyone here -- sweet, spicy, mustard-based, etc. I was particular to the smoky one. I wish one of their locations was closer to me, as they all are outside the city center, but I would make the trip to visit again in the future. I will note that because they smoke their own meats on-premises, you probably will walk out of here feeling like you smell a bit like the smoke. read more

Juicy brisket with lovely hospitality! First time trying this restaurant in the West area of Pittsburgh on the way to the airport. I haven't received such a warm welcome anywhere! Everyone here has something kind to say! What a differentiator. I ordered the brisket plate with french fries and everything was delicious. It was a lot of fun tasting all the six sauces that comes at every table. My favorite was the Memphis Belle. I am saving the corn cake for the morning with my coffee. This was my first visit inside Mission BBQ. I've had catering from them but I wanted to try the in person experience. I was very impressed! I arrived around 1140 AM on a gloomy Saturday. Like a good BBQ restaurant you order the BBQ before you sit down. I decided to have the pick three meats (lean brisket, pulled pork, and traditional sausage). I also had a side of fresh cut fries. The meat was very good. I really enjoyed the sausage and brisket.Fries were nice and salty. Three meat meal and fries was $25.00 which I felt was very fair. There are six different sauces and vinegar at each table as well as the essential roll of paper towels. In addition to being very clean, every employee I encountered was extremely friendly. First time to this Mission...and last time. Service was beyond abysmal. Baked beans were soft, pasty, gluey things with a thick sauce on them. Ribs were some better. Flavor was meh. Sauce was just ok. Meat pulled off the bone when you grabbed a bone, and you were then holding a meatless bone, with a pork steak left on your plate for you to eat. A rib should have the meat attached and you gnaw it off the bone. I would try the brisket next time, but there won't be a next time. read more

It is a chain, but it doesn't really seem like one. I came here multiple times for lunch while working nearby. I was able to get in and out insanely fast and the food was also amazing. You gotta answer questions about your brisket, which is how it SHOULD be! The brisket isn't moist beef jerky that scrapes your throat, as it SHOULD be! For sauces, that have a wide gamut of ideas on BBQ, something for every palate. For sides, they had a rotating collard green side that was really good. Impressive for a Texas-style BBQ place. Our favorites are the pulled pork (juicy and best the first day) and brisket (somehow the left overs are even better the next day!) We love the corn bread. The staff are unfailingly kind and helpful. On the phone and in person. Again and again. We got a to go pack this time. The company is clearly tinkering with the method of To Go and it's getting better and better. This time everything was packed in foil containers, with plastic lining the top to prevent spillage. There is now a sign indicating where to pick up your Online order. Which is a new thing. It comes with a full bottle of bbq sauce. the military vehicle outside--good photo op. they have many service and military related honors and uniforms displayed inside and sports events playing on the big TVs. they are kindly able to deal with food allergies. You can call it a chain. But this particular restaurant is as good as the NC and famous Memphis BBQ joints I've tried. We love this location! I just had an excellent meal at Mission BBQ in Robinson. I had a wonderful NC style pulled pork sandwich. It had just the right amount of slaw on it and the NC vinegar salute on the table was perfect. The fresh fries were excellent too. Service was quick and we had the added bonus of being there for the noon anthem. Management made it even better by giving us a coupon for a free sandwich since we sang along to the anthem. The staff was unbelievably welcoming and had an amazing interaction at the register. I will come back to this place over and over again because of the customer service and care from the Robinson staff. 5 stars!! Sadly the reason why I did not put 5 stars was I got the black plate special today of the bbq shrimp and sadly my shrimp were still gray and very undercooked and rubbery BUT I have never experienced an issue before, this was obviously just a mistake. But it is solid across the board, and the Baked Beans with Brisket side is a standout. The staff is really engaged with the customers. The inside is very casual and comfortable, but we usually get take out. We like it so much we drive over 30 min each way to get it! The staff is always incredibly nice and efficient. Our favorites food wise definitely include the brisket (you can choose moist or lean which is great for those with different preferences), smoked turkey, pulled pork and cheddar sausage. I really like Mission BBQ. I love that they are pro-military and pro-first responder. I have been to one other Mission BBQ (in Florida). I ordered the sampler of 3 meats and 2 sides as. everything was very good. As soon as i ordered and sat down, a bus arrived and about 50 people got in line (I'm thankful i was ahead of that). I enjoyed my food, and got out of there pretty quickly to free up my table for the bus crowd. Once again, huge fan of Mission BBQ, their food and what they stand for is awesome. Visited yesterday, 4/13/24, for the millionth time, and it was amazing as always! Starting with the customer service, as soon as you walk in the door the employees welcome you in with a smile. You place your order at the counter, and the order is pretty much ready before you can even finish paying nine times out of ten! Yesterday I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of French fries, and it was amazing! The pork is a perfect balance between moist and dry, sometimes pulled pork from other places is either way too dry, or way too moist, but at mission BBQ it's almost always perfect. The French fries were extremely fresh as always, one of my favorite places for French fries! I've tried plenty of things from mission BBQ, and everything I've had is always very solid. I also tried a single baby back and a single spare rib along with my salad. The S.t Louis was boring, had no meat and tasted "old" and definitely had no smoke to it.
