as a plus size girly I struggleeeee finding second hand/new clothes that fit me just right ! and I loveeeee to save money I got two items a purse ($15 new with tags) and a beautiful leather torrid top (15$new with tags) both that made me feel so beautiful on a budget ! when I asked questions Ginny was soooo helpful and even offered if I wanted to try on the top (I didn't know there was a dressing room) as someone who is very shy the girls there are amazing ! and so welcoming and all I can hear around me was how many people were amazed by this store. I had passed this little shop many times and finally decided to stop-in today. While there was some of that musty smell that is common in second hand stores, I was really impressed with the layout of the space (much more boutique than garage sale vibes). I also thought curated items were mostly tasteful (with definite attention paid to brand recognition). The price point for items was exactly where I thought it should be (definitely no price gouging). While I didn't find anything that sparked joy for me personally (their plus size section trending towards an older demographic), I will definitely stop-by again in the future to checkout new arrivals. I have been consigning quality clothes and shoes here for a couple of years. After the 45 days, I choose to pick up my unsold items rather than have them donated. Every time, some of my items are "missing." What does this mean? They have been stolen? Shop employees take them home? They disappear into thin air? You have to look for your own items among the racks and racks of clothes. After an hour of this today, I finally gave up on two items I could not find. Not much help from the employee who was working there. She said she will call me if the items turn up. I have never received a phone call from them about any of my missing items. I hear there is a consignment shop in Belfair. I can't wait to check this one out. Never again at Twice Around the Closet. read more

This story does have a happy ending. I walked to this second had store to see if they still had two items I had been thinking about. I was excited to see that they still had them. The two items were large. I said to April, I will purchase the item that was placed behind the counter and also the other item that was hanging off the wall. She gave me a look as if it was not her job to get the item that was hanging. Unfortunately for me I was holding my 1 yr old son and it was too high up to reach without tumbling over things. As she was preparing to ring me up, I told her that I had walked to the store and that I would appreciate if she could hold it for me until I get the car. Things took a turn. She asked me if I was going to pick the items up today. I was kinda surprised she asked me this. I said yes, at the latest in the morning. She then began to tell me that it can't be possible to hold and that it was too long for them to hold it. She then began to point at all the consignment items that people were bringing in and told me there was no room. She then told me that people always put things on hold and never return to get them. I then asked her how can I not come back, that I was actually purchasing these items? That how can I not come back for them? She then told me that there is a lady that does it all the time and has them hold it for weeks. So at this point I didn't want to listen to her anymore. I asked her to ring me up. She stood there looking at me and said "Ooookayyy". Then turned around and did her cash register thing... In the end, I was not sure if the transaction was completed and I asked her if I was all set. She then responded to me, in the same sinister tone and look she had with me the whole time, that I surely was. In all my years shopping consignment I have never been treated that way by a sales clerk. Since then, I spoke to the owner Linsdey. She really made things better just by talking to her. She was sincere and concerned that I would not return as a customer and apologized. She explained to me what was going on and I found out ending in a more positive experience because of her. This story doesn't have a happy ending. :( I have been a loyal customer & a consigner of Twice Around the Closet, previously Linda's Consignment Shop, for quite a few years and always felt I was treated fairly and kindly. I rarely chose to take cash for my consignments but would let the balance build up and spend it in the shop. Once the shop changed ownership, I NEVER felt welcomed. The new owner doesn't possess the people skills needed to run this type of business. She is defensive and makes remarks that make me, as the customer, feel uncomfortable. I will no longer be doing business at this shop. In addition to these basic complaints, I went in to the shop to get the some of the balance of money owed me and the shop owner could not find me in her computer. She indicated that since I was not in the computer I would not be getting any money due to me. Her reasoning was that it must have been more than a year since I've been there which wasn't true. I lost the money but she has also lost a profit making customer. Be aware!! read more

As someone who has worked in retail for over a decade, I tend to hold stores to my high expectation of service. I have always been pleased to receive stellar service at Twice Around the Closet. I've consigned my clothing for nearly 3 years and never had an issue with their consignment policies - they are quite the norm! The selection of clothing (and especially the lovely Coach purses!) that come in are a great deal and great quality. And though I do buy many adorable pieces, I also really appreciate the fact that they do not pressure you to purchase if you are just consigning. During my first year consigning with their store, I was in a tough spot financially and they didn't mind at all that I was simply trying to make a bit of money back while cleaning out my closet. The owner Lindsey and the other girls have great taste so I always end up finding the cutest stuff at a great price, I usually leave with things I didn't come in looking for but refuse to leave without! If your time or your items are valuable skip this shop! Owner "lost" a new leather purse I had consigned and told me nothing she could do for me because I took the risk leaving my items with her. So basically I paid her a consignment fee upfront, she sold three new items (still had tags on), lost my purse and after my time searching through her store of 1 hour 15 minutes for all the items that didn't sell (which she requires you to do) including one which was no longer there, 2 months later she gave me a check for $15.00. The one star is because her $15.00 check didn't bounce. The tax write off for a charitable donation will be more valuable to you. Lesson learned. read more

I dropped items off at this place in September and called a few times to find out if items were sold. I had horrible customer service each and every time I called. I then stopped in to find out what had sold and collect my money. The owner did not have a list of the items that I dropped off in Sept! I had dropped off about $50+ worth of children's things. She gave me $2 and said that she had no idea about my items. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Worst consignment experience time and time again! Don't know why I kept coming back. The salespeople were usually indifferent, and cold. With the exception of one, who I believe is named Bev. The owner of the store actually confessed her inability to turn away sweet old ladies with out of style clothes, so there was no particular focus. The prices are quite high compared to Seattle, where I live. The "designer" clothing rack is full of general name brand items. I would bring items to this store when I came to visit family. I brought lots and lots of stuff in, many designer jeans, boutique clothes and many items brand new with tags. My clothes were often used in the displays, and I was complimented on the quality of stuff I brought in. When I would check back I would have $3 or $5, never enough to bother "requesting a check that would me mailed out in a couple of months". I probably walked away with a total of $25 after a whole year of consigning with them. The last time I went in, I inquired about a pair of Chanel sunglasses I had consigned. The employee couldn't find any record of them! She just said "They must have sold" As usual, I had about $4 on my account, which didn't make sense. I had seen the sunglasses in the case the last time I was in. I can only imagine what other items "disappeared"!The most insulting part is that they CHARGE a $5 annual consigning fee. She even had nerve to ask me for it after I complained about the other things! Another annoying thing is the weekly item limit. You can only bring 12 items a week. A baby onesie is one item, and so is an evening gown. If you have a car full of awesome, current, in season, boutique clothes, you can only leave 12. If you have a box of ugly old lady blouses, you can leave 12. Don't waste your time here! The store was way better when Linda's Consignment was there. I may seem unforgiving, but I worked in a consignment store for years. I know how to provide a great customer experience, how to focus on a market and how to be accountable for the items that are accepted. I guess I kept coming back because I felt bad for this little store. Each time I came in, the rotten feeling in my stomach just grew and grew. Since then I have been taking my stuff to Buffalo Exchange, and I'll walk away with almost $50 for the 12 items I would leave with this place. Such a joke! My friend and I stopped in to shop and overall the atmosphere was great, clean and trendy. Prices were pretty good. I asked about their consignment process and was given a very brief reply. I still walked out with questions. My friend decided to consign some of her clothes there. When I looked up info online, I was leary that she'd get much of anytimg and the reviews were not all that great. She decided to go for it, but called me complaining after she did it. They charge a $5. Fee just to consign and I was told that the contract she signed didn't seem to give her any guarantees at what price they charged. They keep 60% on what is sold, but they get to put how much and can change the cost at anytime. I believe the consignment length is 45 days and you must pick up your stuff or they keep it. Also they will never call you or remind you. You must call them to find out your balance. So the day my friend called to check if her clothes had sold. This is the text message I got from her: Yeah.... I don't think I'll be doing consignment stuff anymore. I just called for the very first time to check on it and the woman that picked up goes " uhhhhh.... could you call back a little later I am REALLY busy right now!" I was so confused it took me a minute to even respond to that. It's all in their computer, not like she'd have to manually dig through piles of clothes or anything! I might just pull my stuff anyway, just don't want to deal with it/them anymore. called later that day..... She was available to talk this time Whoa! LoL They sold 6 of my sweaters so far and I have almost $25 on my account to pick up. It's a bit less then I wanted plus the $5 yearly fee was basically like I gave 2 sweaters away for free.. but what ever they did the work I guess. I gave it an extra star for the shopping experience as it was pleasant enough and they had bathroom/ dressing room to try stuff on. So I think this sums up the experience......
