When I washed my hair for the first time it didn't look good. It was frizzy with no style. She let me come in on the same day so she could get it too my liking. After I went back my hair looks good. I have been going to Twiggs for almost 2 years and am long overdue for a glowing review of Nick's work. Nick is personable, friendly, and man can he foil fast! Forget sitting in a chair for 4 hours, I have the cutest hair after 2 hours at most and always leave the salon feeling great. Twiggs is clearly a well kept and clean salon with high ceilings, a flat bed to lay on when getting your hair washed (my neck thanks you!) and tea, coffee, etc. available per request. You will likely want to walk around gorgeous Wayzata afterwards and grab an espresso martini at COV with your signature Twiggs blowout that I have received more compliments on than I can count. I went to Twiggs salon last night for the first time after purchasing a Groupon for a partial highlight and could not have been happier. My GPS got me a little lost, but parking was very easy. The receptionist was really sweet, offered me tea, water, coffee and wine. Then my stylist John greeted me right away and too me for my appointment. He listened carefully to what I wanted and did an AMAZING job!!! I have been looking for someone that I really loved to do my color for the last 3 years that I've been living in MN, and after going a dozen different places over the years, I finally found someone I would 100% go back to!! I used a groupon for a haircut here and had a great experience. The salon is lovely and Tedd did a fantastic job on my hair. He was a pleasure to spend time with. I was treated politely and offered tea and the chair massage. But will I be back? Probably not. There is an element of snobbishness, as some other reviewers have mentioned. I don't feel it was so much better than the other salons I've been to to warrant the double or more price. Recently moved to Wayzata from downtown Minneapolis and wanted a salon closer to my new home. I tried Twiggs after hearing great things about it and it exceeded my expectations! I saw John for a haircut. He was so friendly and talented. A true artist. He gave me a great haircut and the best blowout I have ever had. I have long, thick hair with a courser texture and I have never had a stylist be able to blowout my hair without also flat ironing or curling after with an iron, but John did it. The salon looked upscale yet inviting and the staff were very stylish and professional. For that first service, Nick cut my hair and it was one of the best cuts I've ever had! We had a fun conversation and I knew I'd be back. The ONLY salon in Minnesota I will go to!! Twiggs is so chic and elegant, I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere, the music and the overall vibe. It's very hip and modern, yet still very relaxing. Super friendly, very well dressed, knowledgeable, quick and thorough. He knew right away which conditioning treatment to use. Gave a shampoo/scalp massage worth a 25% tip, a great chair massage as my hair was setting that helped loosen me up from stress I've been having, finished off with an excellent hair dry/blow out style. I wish I had a hot date tonight or something cause my hair looks and feels amazing. I will definitely go back and gladly pay the full price. I have redeemed groupons in the past where the service was significantly cheaper because of the discount, and the service ended up being discounted as well making for a not worth it value, but they still treated me as if I was paying full price for the service and it was lovely. Twiggs in Wayzata is the crown jewel in the land of 10,000 lakes. As a West Coast girl, and long time client of Jose Eber, my standards are very high. Twiggs surpassed my expectations, and taught me more about hair and skin care in one hour thatn I have learned collectively in my 43 years of life. This is a family owned spa. The pride in ownership glows abound. My hair was badly damaged from years of overprocessing. I feared I would have to have it all cut off. David and Nick took their time and energy and worked repairative treatments into my hair that worked wonders. My haircut was perfect. The salon is absolutely beautiful, as is the owner, and her family members that she employs. The chairs are so luxurious. They were imported from Paris. Every inch of this beautiful Salonspa is decorated to perfection. Twiggs is my newest "happy place." It is a comforting retreat from the rest of the world. I am beyond thankful for Twiggs! After moving to Minnesota from Tampa, I was really looking for a salon that would do an awesome job coloring my hair and personalizing my experience. I definitely found this at Twiggs. I needed a color correction and I saw John for my first time. He gave me an awesome cut, rejuvenated my blonde color and got rid of the brassy orange that had developed since November. Next, due to my schedule I ended up seeing Evan for my second time, and boy was I surprised! Evan took me to the ashy blonde I wanted to be at, and was able to get the rest of the yellow out of my hair. I have never left a salon feeling so happy with my end result! Happy with my color, I really missed my long thick hair. I went in to see David for an extension consultation, and a week later I was in for my extension application appointment! David EXCEEDED my expectations. My hair was not only the color I wanted, but it finally felt full again! David made sure I felt comfortable before leaving and educated me on what products I should use to take care of my hair going forward! I recently had a Brazilian blowout at Twiggs after a friend who had the service twice tell me that it was good and cost $225 (we have very similar hair texture). When I called to make the appointment the receptionist confirmed this price. I went in, had the blowout and was then charged $375. I asked the stylist why it was so much and received a defensive response. Nobody told me the price is so subjectively decided by the stylist, I was not offered a consultation (as the website says) and he did not tell me before he started that he decided I would require more product (which I can assure you I do not, I have fine hair with little curl and have confirmed this with my regular hair stylist who has done my blowouts in the past). I am a long time resident of Wayzata and willing to spend money on quality services, but this was ridiculous and I now see why this salon has such a bad reputation. read more

First and foremost, I really like Twiggs Salon. It is aesthetically very attractive and restful. I agree when some say there is an air of snobbery that you feel when you walk into the salon. The owner herself does not present herself as a warm, inviting individual.. With that being said, I have had three different stylists that have done my hair while going to Twiggs and I have been very happy with all three of them. The first two people have left the salon thus my third stylist. The third person I have had is EVAN. I am VERY happy with his work. I have received compliments on his haircut and color. Evan is also very pleasant! He is fun to talk with and he is NOT pushy regarding purchasing products....just informative. His chair massage is great, as well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVAN!!!! I have visited Twiggs 3-4 times in the last 5-6 years. I decided to visit them again recently in their new location, and saw a newer stylist for a color and cut. The color was basic - a retouch of my roots - but that didn't turn out the right shade. I've never had a tint go awry. However, the cut was the worst I've ever received - she "razor" cut my hair and it looked absolutely horrible on the bottom. She didn't fold in my existing layers, and she took 3.5/4 inches off, despite my ask for one inch maximum. Doing so cut off many layers and pretty balayage / lighter ends, which changed he entire look of my hair - far for the worse. Such a departure from what I asked for. I had to leave the salon for an appt, so I told them I would call in and would have to come back for a re-do. I fully expected that they comp my services - who should pay for the poor services I had done? I am going in today for a re-do to see David - and will update my review following the appt. While they can't bring back my long hair, hopefully they can re-cut the ends and fix the color so I can stomach it for the next 6 months while it grows out. And, I hope they reconsider comping the funds paid. Regarding the location itself - it is brighter and more welcoming than their last - by far! Yet the chairs lack a footrest - so you are left dangling your feet (in 5 5 - so average, and my feet would not touch the ground). Last - if they put your chair down so your feet touch, you can't see your full face in their mirrors - which are up too high. Someone in ergonomics and salon design must have missed these key elements! Because I couldn't see my hair being cut, I didn't notice the poor cut with way too much length until I was completely dried and stood up. read more

I went in here after having an extremely botched balayage at a different salon hoping someone here would be able to fix it. My stylist was Alexia and she was amazing! She knew exactly what she was doing and carried out a great balayage despite the disaster she had to work with. You can't even tell my hair had been a nightmare when I walked in. I really liked the old location better. While the new location is tres chic, it's not super welcoming. I'm not sure if the woman who did my hair was having a bad day, hates her job, hates me, or just has a mad case of rbf but I really got the vibe that she didn't want to be there. She was a little rough and it didn't seem like she was giving it 100%. Aside from that, there was hair EVERYWHERE! I know it's a salon and of course there will be hair but ya shouldn't have to sit in a beautiful white leather chair with clumps of other people's hair on it. I really had a great experience when I visited the old location--friendly people, a massage and paraffin hand wax. My most recent experience was less than stellar but at least the finished cut and color was ok. I think I could have gone to a different salon for the same experience at a lower cost. read more
