Great salon w talented hair people. I recently participated in a practice hair cut in their well hidden teaching salon to the right as you enter the salon. Was so impressed w the way they nurtured and taught these new hair stylists. You can get on a list for hair cuts or color if you contact them. Had a haircut here which was uneven, called the manger but didn't offer much help other than to "schedule another appointment" which I would obviously pay for. Paid $70 for a cut, gave a $30 tip because I had a color done too only to have one side longer than the other. There is a huge rush here. Susan for custom facial was amazing!! It was the whole works: upper body massage, sugar hand scrub, hot stone, extractions, exfoliating, great smelling products,hot towels, arm pulling(what ever the correct terminology for that is, it felt great) etc. And one of the best things was I requested I didn't want to small talk and just relax and that's exactly what I got!! Also, by paying the higher price don't have to worry about upgrade or added fees or talk about prices in the room. No. I just want to relax. Ended the facial with a foundation that is good for post-facial I agreed to do it this time but will pass next time. Wasn't my exact color but I sure was glowing. It was phenomenal. Called Cole's last minute and the fit me right in! The salon itself was really nice and the waiting area has free coffee and candy! Definitely a nice experience! But I didn't get to spend much time there since I didn't wait very long. The stylist I had was really friendly and did a nice job! I recently had my hair BUTCHERED by a different salon. I came here for refuge, and that was a great choice. Darcy took a look at my hair and gave me a reality check, followed by some hope. First, she told me what the stylist did wrong. Basically, my hair was cut into 2 chunks (think 80's women's hair cuts.) Huge on top and thin and long on the bottom. Ew. Second, she told me how we could make it look better today, and what we would have to do over time. (Essentially make it shorter on bottom, try to fill in the gaps between the top chunk and the bottom, etc.) I really wish I had gone to her in the first place. Do yourself (and your precious hair) a favor and see Darcy at Cole's Burnsville FIRST. In case you are wondering, I have fine hair, but a large volume and loose curls. I've been here for a cut and color and have brought my 6 yo daughter here for a cut as well. The salon is very nice and chic. Clean and quiet (if you're looking for a relaxing day). I saw Jenna. I showed her some pics, we talked, she made some recommendations and got to work. I have a ton of thick curly/wavy hair and it takes most stylists 3-4 hours. Super annoying. It took Jenna 1.5! She never seemed rushed or skipped steps. But the end product was awesome! I'm so happy with the cut and color. She definitely understood what I was going for and she delivered! She was fun to talk with. She didn't have an assistant nor did she double book ( I absolutely despise double booking). She did a wonderful job with my daughter as well. Very happy! read more

The woman, who was our flight attendant on a recent trip from MSP to JFK said, "Janel at Cole's Salon in Burnsville does my hair, and she does a nice job." I wrote down this information and tucked it away and thought I would write a positive review here. This woman's hair was blonde, with some darker low lights and the best blended hair layers on a shorter hairstyle. I called the salon also and shared my positive review over the phone and thought that this hairstylist, Janel, needs to know that her work is spectacular, and getting noticed. Just moved to town and needed to find a new salon... I let hubby be the guinea pig for this salon and I was disappointed that I wasn't the one who received the relaxing cut and pampering! The salon was gorgeous and elegant and had a coffee bar and a huge coat room..(not a common thing in Albuquerque!) They have online scheduling and an amazing check in and check out process. Growing up in Minnesota, I always went to Cole's--I love this salon chain! Finding this quality elsewhere is hard to come by. The stylists are all friendly, and truly help you understand what they're going to do. I was recently back in town to see family and needed a cut/color. It had been over 10 years since I had been there, so I had to do the "scary" thing and try someone new. Luckily, Renee was awesome! I couldn't love my cut/color more than I do. Ladies, if you're wanting to try the Ombre style, she should be your go-to. She's had tons of training over the years! (make sure you have some out growth first, though, then you'll be in the same happy place I am.) Love that they use Bumble & Bumble and Wella is still my favorite (and a fabulous) color line...it doesnt fade like aveda and others. Not a friendly salon/spa. The reception area is not very friendly & makes you feel uncomfortable. Overpriced for the services provided. The stylist are decent, but so are the stylist down the street for less money. The customer does not come first with Coles. I prefer to go to a salon when I spend over $100 to have my hair colored where I feel welcomed & not someone for the stylist to gossip about. Not the only game in town. read more

Mariah is the best! There was a scheduling error with my original stylist and they moved me over to Mariah and I am so happy that they did because I love my results! She took me from a copper/caramel color to the ashy blonde I've always wanted but could never achieve. All the stylists there seem well trained and educated. I love this place! I'm just sad that I couldn't bring my waxer and hair dresser here with me on my move to California. I use to see Kristine S. for my hair. Love her! It's weird to see a lefty cut your hair. She is constantly honing her skills and going to classes to maintain her skills and techniques. I first heard of her from a patient that came in to my work. I loved her bangs and asked her who cut her hair. So a week later, I had cute bangs- which was very hard for me since I hadn't had bangs since high school, over 10 years. She was very reassuring. I highly recommend her. Diana was my waxer. She's awesome! She is an aesthetician, and does facials and all that good stuff. I was nervous about getting a brazilian wax and didn't know what to expect, so I called the salon to ask the receptionist and she said she would have a aesthetician call me back. Diana called me back to reassure me. So I went ahead and made an appointment- I had a feeling that this was a service that once I had it done I would keep on doing it. I was right. Now, Diana made me feel so comfortable! She's awesome and fast. I think if she can make me feel comfortable being naked from the waist down- come on, why wouldn't you get waxed? It's never a painless service no matter who you see, especially when the tweezers come out. AHHHH! But when you pay for a service to get it all waxed, you want it all gone. I just had the BEST DAY EVER at a salon! I spent the afternoon with Heather G and she is AMAZING! I have reeaally long hair and to sit in a chair for hours with my disability is difficult to say the least. Heather is fast. .. really fast, and better yet, she is amazingly talented! I have been getting my hair colored for decades and this is truly and honestly the first time that I have walked out of any salon loving my hair! The color is spot - on and the cut is perfect! Once she was done with my color and cut, she asked me how I would like it styled. My reply... surprise me! She took the time to blow dry my hair which is no easy feat; then styled it in a way that I wouldn't have thought of. Definitely a wonderful surprise! Every stylist is friendly and gives me their professional opinions on my hair coloring/cutting before we begin, and the outcome has never been short of amazing! This review is for Carrie the esthetician. She is amazing, and is now not only who I see for waxes and lash tints, but someone whom I consider my friend. I don't get to go as often as I'd like due to monetary constraints, but I so look forward to our visits when I do. Brazilian waxes can be a little um, uncomfortable sometimes, but not with Carrie! She made me feel comfortable from day one, and we always laugh and have a good time. :) I won't see anyone other than Carrie for my waxes! Everyone there is super nice at the front as well. My husband also sees Alyssa for his challenging hair, and she does a great job! (where many others at different places have struggled). I went in on 9/23 and saw Molly, this was my first time meeting her and what an awesome experience it was, she listened and gave me her thoughts but left the final decision to me, she took the time to help explain how my hair could benefit from a Malibu treatment, she was not pushy and I welcomed the recommendation.
