Sad to downgrade our ratings for this long-running Chinese buffet. We've been coming here for a few times most years over a 20-year period, and this is the least agreeable experience ever. What's gone wrong? A lot, unfortunately. The selections have diminished; much less variety of dishes than we can ever recall. The quality of the food seems to have gone downhill; too many selections were lukewarm and bland to the taste. We've usually liked our servers, some of whom have been here for decades, we believe, but there were fewer of them and they seemed more harried and less friendly. And we missed the sushi since we could find only rolls at the sushi counter. Prices are up very slightly, not unexpected, but given the overall dining experience it's not a good deal any longer. Sad. We'll hope for a rebound.

Amazing Buffet with Great Service and Value Two years ago for our 50th HS Reunion, we had our dinner here and it was great. You can read the original review also. Since then, we have tried to meet once a year to at least get together and renew old friendships and relive memories. This year we were suppose to meet but our plans got delayed due to a Hurricane named Florence. Ended up delaying it for a week and since some people could not change plans, turnout was a little less than normal. We were seated in the same dining room as before and the service was outstanding. The Buffet was great two years ago and maybe my memories is failing but it has only gotten better. I do not remember oysters on the half shell or crayfish from two years ago along with more American style items for those who do not appreciate Chinese or Japanese. Very comfortable setting, with great food and a place I would highly recommend.

    Plenty for kids.

We definitely stop here each and every year we're up in North Carolina. It's by far the best Chinese buffet around... well, in our experience it's the only one. We've even brought the entire family here for Father's Day - it's that much a favorite. This is your typical (to this urban buffet connoisseur) large-scale Chinese Buffet. There are tons of pre-made dishes as well as pizza and chicken nuggets for the kids. There are some interesting local specialties (gizzards) and maybe some stuff to avoid (salmon swimming in mystery liquid), but stick to the Chinese basics and you'll be great. Heck, the regular Chinese buffet isn't even where this place shines: 1. Sushi - they have some REALLY good rolls here all the time, and many with eal and real fish in them, not just California rolls and krab 2. Hibachi - want raw food cooked up fresh for you? They have this too and they do a great job with it! 3. Ice Cream - they have a freezer with 6-8 containers of real scoop your own ice cream! This is not soft serve, this is the real deal. And they have a whole slew of sauces and toppings to put on your make your own sundae! Price: very good for what you get. Heck the last time we went with a 2 and 4 year old, my wife and I got out for under $25. We all had plenty of our individual favorites and ate our fill of delicious ice creams when we were done. Going to the local ice cream shop for 4 of us sets us back close to $20 alone, so what a great value coming here for both lunch AND ice cream!

Not too bad of a Chinese buffet, but reduced in size since the height of the pandemic. The variety of food was good with something for everyone. It was hot and well seasoned with enough variety to keep most everyone happy. I will definitely eat here again.

Do they have a variety of Seafood there?

Good fresh raw oysters, sometimes Salt & Pepper frog legs, also sometimes crab legs - all you can eat. Also many types of cooked fish and a full sushi bar - rolls only at lunch - rolls and sushi for dinner...

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.

For dinner I had the southwest blackened chicken Cobb salad which was very good as well. Prices were a little up there, but not too crazy. Service was a little slow (they were pretty busy at the time we went) but the server was well educated on the menu. The restaurant was nicely appointed, comfortable and they have a separate room for their bar.

100% Authentic CHINESE, Relaxing Atmosphere, Romantic…read more Don't expect long lines, the previous owners had bad reputations. They didn't even cook, they semi warmed over food and served it. They were there for a couple of years and finally went out of business. Most people in the area think it is the same people, but it is not. I ate there when it was named HOUSE OF ASIAN. I quit after 3 times. When I seen it was named China & Hibachi I went in and gave it a try FLAWLESS!!!!!!!! I use to work in a Chinese restaurant, and the people taught me exactly how to make Chinese. How did they know how to make it? They were from CHINA, Duh. What I really like about the new restaurant is they pile it on. "Sometimes I can't eat it all. And since the previous owners ruined the location, I often see couples in it. It is clean and quaint. A very nice place for romantic moments. Things are slowly picking up, I do see a lot of people going through the Drive Thru. There you will have to wait a long time to get served as they cook it only after you order. The ONLY thing I dont like about it is if you get soft drinks. They don't have fountain beverages, only bottles, and you pay for each one, and no free refills. But the dinner makes up for it. Plus they have a complete list of Japanese dishes as well. It is located on main street, and the best time to go is around 5pm The place has the usual Chinese dishes and many I have not heard of. All cooked perfectly.

I believe in giving restaurants a second chance but this time was the last straw. I ordered Orange Chicken and fried rice. First, the fried rice was absolutely tasteless, no flavor at all. Then I looked at the chicken - the Orange sauce was so overcooked it was almost black. I tried a bite anyway, and almsot gagged. The sauce and the chicken both had the consistency of lumpy jelly. I gave it to my dog because I was already home and it would have cost me more than the meal was worth to drive back. My advice is stay away from this place, the quality has really gone downhill and I will NOT be going back again.
