I have been eyeing the Banana Cream Pie with Banana Buttercream. The gentleman in front of me in line ordered what I thought was the last one and apparently Ashton noticed my shoulders slump . When it was my turn, I ordered half dozen cupcakes. She had one more Banana Cream Pie! I was estatic! Got that, Boston Cream Pie, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet, and Dark Chocolate with Vanilla Buttercream. Ashton is very friendly and knows her cupcakes! Since it was closed due to prepping for an event there were no cupcakes in the cases. I said I was hoping to try her cupcakes and she said she did have some in the refrigerator case. Just a day old. They did not taste a day old! My family and I ate them when I got home. They were very moist and delicious. Could not tell they were vegan at all! We will definitely be back. To top off the great cupcakes, Ashton is a very sweet person herself. She thought I was there to pick up an order of gorgeous looking chocolate covered strawberries and when I tried to pay for the 3 cupcakes I chose, she said they were on the house. Even after I told her I had not ordered the strawberries, she did not have me pay for the cupcakes! She has made a loyal customer with her generous act. I paid $250 for a two-tier cake UNDECORATED. I added all of the items on the cake myself. You can clearly see they missed the ombre color scheme. This year, I ordered a 3 layer cake with a colored photo provided by my granddaughter. I requested pink, purple, pink inside with strawberry filling. They missed the color of the cake inside and outside completely. Pink vs neon pink. The cake tasted awful. The icing was slopped on the cake without care. It melted 45 minutes into transport. There was not enough support inside the cake as the top layer slid off during transport. They made an entirely different cake! A $10 refund was offered. It's such a joke. I wasn't able to pick up cake due to my father passing away. So my son picked up the cake. He couldn't refuse the cake bc it was going directly to the party. He had no time to change or complain. My granddaughter was so upset she didn't get the cake SHE picked out. Look at the photos, and YOU choose if YOU want to do business with them. The first picture was the cake my granddaughter chose. The rest of the photos are the cake we received. The girl answering the phone said the owner sits home and does paperwork. She does not come in the bakery to do any baking or decorating. That in itself allows you to make your decision if you want to do business with them. If you are looking for quality and specifics, try another bakery. Joyce, the former owner, is no longer here who took pride in everything that went out the door.  I am disputing the $72 charge with my bank.

It came with cream on top and was honestly one of the best coffee drinks I've had in a long time. I also grabbed an almond croissant, and it may have been the best one I've ever had. Exactly what I needed on a tough hike. The inside feels like a cozy living room with tons of live plants and so many cute little corners to sit and relax. Everything was spotless, the staff were super friendly, and the whole place just had such a welcoming vibe. This added a serious "umph" to our hiking day. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Little did I know, until just a week ago, that there is a location in Winchester. The morning of my visit could not have been more perfect for a first timer. Rain was drizzling, but not heavy. The sky was overcast. The temps were low, but not frigid. And that Shenandoah Valley wind was just the right amount of chilling. I went in with high expectations. Here's what happened. I began to peruse the menu and soon realized that I would be making many a visit before obtaining a full understanding of all they have to offer. So I settled on the blueberry pancake and the holiday sprinkle (seasonal) with a cup of coffee (only $5.99). What I then learned is that each doughnut is 1) a cake doughnut (just for those who favor/don't favor this type of doughnut), 2) is made to order (as in the toppings and/or stuffing), and 3) they all come out warm! The coffee is a medium roast, but on the darker side. Just a FYI. I sat down at the window bench and looked out on the dismay day that was about to get exponentially better. The doughnuts, for the short period of time they lasted, were a work of art (be sure to check out my photos). They paired well with the coffee and left me wishing I had made the bigger commitment of ordering half a dozen. But there will be more visits in the future.
