My husband and I have been G&G loyalists since they opened, but after the business moved onto Main Street, we've been repeatedly frustrated by poor communication with customers regarding bakery hours. A paper sign on the door is great when there's an early or extended closure, but that paper sign should be complemented by posts on the website and/or social media. In the past few months, we've probably come by on (at least) 10 occasions during business hours only to find that the business was closed...That's a 40-minute round trip from where we live in neighboring Stephens City, only to come home disappointed. I've never called and had a staff member answer the phone, so if we can't even call ahead... G&G needs a system that communicates closures to demonstrate more respect for patrons' time. We've hired G&G to cater our professional events and even our wedding brunch. It isn't too much to ask for a heads up when they know they won't be open during regular hours, right? Ps. Please bring back the banana peppers in the G&G empanada! read more

We really wanted the chicken tinga empanadas but they didn't have any that day. So we got the buffalo chicken one and the burrito. Both weren't bad, but just weren't our favorite either. The buffalo chicken felt salty for our taste and overall the breakfast just felt too oily. The side sauces were great. Staff was friendly and very nice. On the way to Shenandoah National Park, stopped by Garcia & Gavino. The sweet corn empanada and the chicken empanada were delicious and full of flavor. The cannoli was outstanding without tasting too sweet. It was perfect. Highly recommend this place. Service was friendly and very good. Good ambiance. read more

The cupcakes were okay, the flavors were really limited and the taste of the cupcakes weren't awful but didn't blow me away. The smell of savory foods really threw me off, staff was really sweet though. read more

OMG...... This little hidden gem in my hometown is absolutely wonderful. They do gourmet cupcakes. And....... Empanadas, breakfast burritos, tamales, my goodness. All fresh made throughout the day. I'm angry with myself that I did not try them sooner. So now I've been there three times in the last two weeks, and I still want more. If you're in front royal, VA. Went for the empanadas for lunch. You need to order ahead if you want a specific empanada flavor, as they only had ~ 6 flavors in-store when we stopped by (there are many more types available if you order ahead of time). Tasty! read more

Went there today for the first time, and their empanadas were wonderful! I had given up on quality empanadas nearby as nothing has matched the empanadas I had in Puerto Rico years ago. These have great flavor and a very nice crust! Great job! read more

They were closing early due to snow from winter storm Izzy starting to fall but, was able to get one wonderful chicken fajita, two awesome cinnamon rolls and three types of their incredible cupcakes. Drove an hour to Garcia & Gavino's for the tamales. The staff is great and the tamales are wonderful. Perfect ratio of maza to meat.. Tastes just like homemade. They had huge cinnamon rolls, empanadas and pretty cupcakes as well, but we were there strictly for the tamales . We will definitely be back and also recommending them to all our friends. read more

Stopped here on a whim and so glad I did. Best cupcake I've ever had in the valley, and I liked it as much as Georgetown cupcake. You can also have lunch here - enjoyed the empanada and the dogs enjoyed the fresh baked dog treats. I'll be back to try the churros on my next visit. read more
