I'm very disappointed! Im a previous customer who will not EVER return. Last year, they missed the ombre mark on a two-tier cake. I let that pass. Photos attached. I paid $250 for a two-tier cake UNDECORATED. I added all of the items on the cake myself. You can clearly see they missed the ombre color scheme. This year, I ordered a 3 layer cake with a colored photo provided by my granddaughter. I requested pink, purple, pink inside with strawberry filling. They missed the color of the cake inside and outside completely. Pink vs neon pink. The cake tasted awful. The icing was slopped on the cake without care. It melted 45 minutes into transport. There was not enough support inside the cake as the top layer slid off during transport. They made an entirely different cake! A $10 refund was offered. It's such a joke. I wasn't able to pick up cake due to my father passing away. So my son picked up the cake. He couldn't refuse the cake bc it was going directly to the party. He had no time to change or complain. My granddaughter was so upset she didn't get the cake SHE picked out. Look at the photos, and YOU choose if YOU want to do business with them. The first picture was the cake my granddaughter chose. The rest of the photos are the cake we received. The girl answering the phone said the owner sits home and does paperwork. She does not come in the bakery to do any baking or decorating. That in itself allows you to make your decision if you want to do business with them. If you are looking for quality and specifics, try another bakery. Joyce, the former owner, is no longer here who took pride in everything that went out the door.  I am disputing the $72 charge with my bank. read more

I like supporting small business.Walked in to see what they have as we're new here.Ordered 4 cannoli,&1 cake(not a special order just needed 1 last minute).Kids 7th bdy was next day.Basic chocolate cake.Asked for a car design-pretty much left the inspiration up to them.Upon taking cannoli home-only filled tips on each side as they were hollow no cream center.Strange as everywhere fills throughout.Picked up cake following day &sadly cake I made last yr fir my kid was more artistic than this (and I'm no artist!). Cake was about $26 for a small round 2 layer.Frosting was mediocre.Cannoli was tasty ($1.79 a pop small cannoli just really skipped out on filling). Cake was also just ok.I don't think I'd return perhaps if I was desperate only bcz I prefer supporting small but I think Martins has better frosting and prices altho it's corporate and I'd rather support our community. Just wish they were 1)tastier,more artsy (cars aren't that hard) 2)fill your cannoli completely! 3)Be a little more friendly as we had to pull conversation out of her. We used to love Sweet Tooth Bakery until they changed ownership. The frosting is not like the previous owners. Last year, I had ordered a cake for my daughter a week ahead of time, and they told me it would be ready by the date and time we agreed. I went to pick it up on time, and finding out that they haven't even started it yet. I was so upset. My daughter's party was like in 2 hours. They whipped it up fast and it didn't turn out at all like the picture I have showed them. They even had a copy of the picture when I first ordered it. It was not a complicated one to do. They still charged me full price and I was late in getting it to the party. We kept going back to them, but it has been a failed every time. We will not go back. read more

Cake nightmare never place an order here terrible customer service. i placed an order April 5 2024 and paid $122.10 pick up April 27th at 9am. I was very very clear when I was placing my order and even went in person to go over it to make sure we were on the same page. I provided some accessories for my order. I got there to pick up my order none of the accessories were used and the associates told me  Shawn had emailed me that they can't use them. I never received any email I do have an email of Shawn saying I can drop off my accessories because they can't provide them. They had written on the cake "straight outta 1984" even though i provided a sign to use  but it wasn't used they wrote it instead..  I had to pick up this cake and drive 1 hour and 30mins to drop this cake off for a surprise party and had to drive 1 hour 30mins back home. Because the person I was surprising lived with me.. And due to them messing up my cake not once but twice after they took it back to fixed it I had to figure out different plan. i was late for to drop off the cake. I had sign that I had pick up the cake and asked Shawn to call me. She didn't and her associate were supposed to let her know but I guess they didn't either I emailed Shawn and not once she apologized for what her  team did. Shawn was very rude that they won't issue any refund. because she had spoken to the owner.  i asked for the contact but she didnt provide. i wasnt asking for a full refund just some. because i did take the cake i had no time to place an order somewhere else. So disappointed. I've been going to Sweet Tooth for my birthday cake since I was in elementary school. I've been a customer for over 2 decades. They used to be the best bakery, not just in this area, the best overall. It has steadily been going downhill for years. Nowadays, they are just awful. I can't compare Sweet Tooth now to what it used to be. People went nuts for my birthday cakes as a kid, they were delicious and looked incredible. Their designs now are basic at best, comparable to the average grocery store, but less creative and well done than Dairy Queen. They also have crazy limited copyright stuff so if you want a character or something specific, you're not likely to find it. The most disappointing part, the taste. It went from the best, to the worst. It's the last place in town I would go for a cake. The actual cake part is dry and tasteless. The frosting is overly sweet and grainy. I can feel the grains of sugar in my mouth and hear the grains when I chew. It's like that with chain grocery store cakes, but Sweet Tooth used have the best frosting. I can't imagine they still make the frosting themselves, they have to buy it from the same place grocery stores use. If they do still make it themselves, they picked up the worst recipe possible. If I went to a party with a Sweet Tooth cake, I would politely pass. I used to recommend Sweet Tooth to everyone, now I wouldn't eat it if it was free and delivered right to me. The best thing they used to make was these frosted cookies usually shaped with some theme. They always had them. The last 6 times I've been there over a number of years now, they say they're out. I wonder if they still make them, and why they wouldn't just say they don't make them anymore. I've tried some of their other items like other cookies and they are not good. They are dry and have little taste and are not even as good as cheap boxed cookies shipped from some warehouse on the other side of the country. The smell walking into Sweet Tooth used to make you want to float towards it like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Now, I'm just disappointed and sad. The last time I tried to order a cake I felt the person I spoke to was a bit rude. I was told they couldn't do a specific thing, I immediately accepted that, said I understood, and thanked them for their time. But, that wasn't good enough. They tried to sell me some completely different plain unrelated cake, I once again politely thanked them for their time and said I was really only looking for this specific something, and they again said they couldn't do it, as if I was insisting they do it. I again said, I understand you can't do it, I understand your reason, that's fine, but I'm trying to find this specific thing so I will have to look elsewhere for this specific event, but thank you for your time. They seemed to be shocked, as if I was the dumbest person in the world. They just kept pushing me and not letting me get off the phone making me very uncomfortable. I just wanted to politely finish the call and move on for one single event, and they kept pushing and pushing for something I didn't want. And when I possibly considered the idea of finding what I wanted elsewhere, as if the situation was, if they couldn't do it, no one ever could, they acted like I was insane. It wasn't hard to find, I found it literally the next place I contacted, and every other place I looked could do it. There actually wasn't any other place that couldn't. I didn't push it, I fully accepted their reasoning and thanked them, but that wasn't good enough. The way I was talked to was condescending and like I was insane for even trying to find a certain character cake. Them not being able to do it was actually a good thing, as the cake I got not only looked the way I wanted, it also tasted better. This event was a while back, but I have tasted cake from there since then, and still disappointed in how far downhill they have gone. I'm leaving a 2 star review only because of how great they used to be. My history with them has been so memorable from my childhood that I can't bring myself to give only one star, but their quality, attention to detail, overall look, and finished product, do not warrant any stars. Save money, go to the grocery store and get a cheap cake, it'll be better. Or, buy one of those premix boxes and make one yourself, it'll taste better and probably look better too. read more

My wife and I were very pleased with the entire wedding cake experience! We first taste tested various combinations at their store - up to 3 cake flavors, 3 icings, and 3 fillings. We were able to mix and match as we wanted with our choices - this made it easy to decide what was best for us. We described a design we had in mind the day of the tasting and they certainly delivered on our big day. Simple, white, vines, green = perfect. They even delivered on a Sunday! Not impressed at all. Went in for the first time to grab some chocolates and cupcakes. When I first arrived, I walked into an empty shop and had to wait for a few minutes, as no one greeted me. I saw someone walking in the kitchen behind the register, and they made eye contact with me but did not acknowledge me. The small assortment of chocolates available were in a showcase. I purchased the peanut butter chocolate balls, vanilla twists, and chocolate peanut clusters. Each item tasted stale, as if they were sitting out for a while- like days. The 2 tier cake we ordered was dry, tasteless (German chocolate) & very similar to a generic brand box cake. Actually, a box cake would have been better because we could have added flavor to it. I have been a patron of Sweet Tooth since they first opened. The biggest treat our daughters could receive was being given a trip to Sweet Tooth to choose their own cookie! The are both grown up now and when we travel to visit them it is always with a box of Sweet Tooth cookies. I would highly recommend using Sweet Tooth Bakery for your wedding cake. My wedding cake tasted amazing (not overly sweet like most wedding cakes) and was decorated exactly as we had discussed. There is no other business I have ever been to that has worst customer service than Sweet Tooth Bakery. The employees are difficult to work with, not helpful in the slightest, and very irritable. Recently, I ordered a dozen cupcakes and a dozen cookies for a birthday. I wanted chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing an coconut cupcakes with coconut icing. When I got home, the chocolate cupcakes were with the coconut icing and the coconut cupcakes were with the vanilla icing. The cupcakes were supposed to be picked up around 11:30 AM. When I arrived at 1:45 PM, they were still completing my order. Every time I go to Sweet Tooth, I leave angry and unsatisfied. The employees are not there to help the customers. They seem agitated and irritable all the time. I could think of at least five other instances where I had a horrible experience at Sweet Tooth. read more

What a disappointment! We sat for half an hour waiting to order a birthday cake. There were 4-5 employees in the store, and one other customer. That should have been a clue! Then when we received our cake, the frosting was so thin, you couldn't even taste it. This made the cake seem more dry, which accentuated the dry, crumbly texture of the cake itself. We had a discussion about "No black frosting" as it turns people's mouths gray. Yet, a third of the cake had black frosting. The name of the birthday boy was to be around the side of the cake in fondant. That wasn't done. They were supposed to write ON THE BOARD Happy 2nd Birthday. That put it and his name on top of the cake. Nothing that we discussed. Sad to report, the quality and customer service from this longtime family favorite has dropped so dramatically we will not be returning. read more

Unfortunately I received a cake from you all for my nephews first birthday. The cake looked as if I did it myself. The road went absolutely no where on top of the second tier. The rocks looked like little pieces of poop. I had to furnish the car, as well as special candles. When I arrived to pick the cake up, no smash cake was made. It already took 45 minutes to get the cake, now I had to wait another 30 minutes so the worker could go inside grab a cup cake an cover it in white icing. I've never been so disappointed. I will never be purchasing another cake. I could have easily done this myself for $110. Unfortunately no one took pictures so I can't prepare you all for what you will receive. They had a good selection of tools, cake pans, icing & icing implements, and some really cool candles, but the baked goods were quite ordinary, nothing to rave about. The cookies were firm and a bit dry, though the icing was good and the decorations were creative and fun. The cupcakes were moist and, again, the icing was good but nothing special. I guess I'm a little spoiled from living in Northern Virginia and being used to a higher standard. The one thing that was better about this bakery was the price. Wedding Cake Nightmare 4 tier wedding cake was ordered and only 3 tiers made it to the Cake Table. This was a very elegant wedding in a huge tent and the cake looked very dwarfed with only 3 tiers. During delivery, they dropped the largest layer on the ground in the field at the corner of the tent. We were left with not enough cake to serve the guests, the bride and groom didn't get anymore than the bite they fed eachother during the cake cutting. And to top it off, they didn't even clean the cake from they ground, there were chunks of cake on the ground and icing smeared in the grass for all of the guests to see what happened. I waited to leave this review in hopes that they would right the wrong by refunding the cake. Sadly, not even half was refunded. We will never use this bakery again, nor will we refer anyone. read more
