After 3 failed attempts at rodent exclusion, Twin home experts seems to have succeeded at closing off all the remaining hard to find rodent entryways in our house. Was impressed to see them communicating with walkie talkies on both sides of our foundation patching holes. Additionally they were able to locate and pull a nest our babies rats out of our wall and continue to monitor for any remains rats. read more

Back in Apr 2018, I hired Twin Homes to locate and identify leaks coming into the south wall of my garage. Promised an end to the leaks, I accepted all of their findings and recommendations, paying over $35,000(!) out of pocket for them to tear out, reseal and replace the stone patio deck directly above. On Dec 2019, the leaks returned in the south wall of the garage. Twin Homes denied responsibility, but after I threatened to litigate, they attempted a second repair in Jan 2020 by tearing out and resealing a small portion of the stone patio directly above the south wall. But the leaks reappeared again just two months later. This time, they claimed it was due to gaps in the walls that just needed some $12 Home Depot sealant. So we took their advice and sealed the gaps. After a year of drought, in mid-Dec 2021 heavy rainfalls revealed severe leaking and bubbling in the south wall of the garage again. We attempted to reach them via email, phone and even certified mail, but they flatly ignored us. So in early Jan 2022, we removed a section of the drywall and hired an independent 3rd party inspection company to assess the deck. Sure enough, they verified that the leaks were clearly coming from a compromised deck, noting Twin Home's substandard construction/repair work including failing to completely remove the rotted subfloor (as stated in our contract), failing to seal the deck drains to the gutters, and using cheap sealant not graded for decks among other shortcomings  (see photos for reference). I would like to believe our experience was just a fluke, but based on the recent string of bad reviews and complaints posted on Yelp, Angi.com, and the Better Business Bureau, their poor performance appears to be a growing trend. They're not even a member of HomeAdvisor anymore, even though they proudly advertise an "elite" and "top rated" status on their website. Still not convinced? I checked the license of Twin Home Experts and their front man Joe on the Contractors State License Board(CSLB). Twin Home's is currently "canceled and not able to contract" with a number of citation violations, and Joe's is currently suspended. Per the CSLB, "It is illegal for an unlicensed person to perform contracting work on any project for which the contract price is $500 or more in combined labor and material costs." So here we are -- $35,000, four years, three recurring leaks and countless wasted hours later - and rain continues to dump water and spread mold into the walls of our garage where our now-toddler used to play. A home is meant to be a place of comfort, rest and peace-of-mind, but Twin Homes has taken all those things, our hard-earned savings, and countless hours away from my work and home-life and left my family holding the proverbial bag. Please don't let it happen to you. read more

They installed two toilets and did some clean up but my mahogany marble top table, lamp, foot stool, figurines and mirror were all taken. This was our wonderful experience with Twin Home Experts! We had a plumbing leak in our crawl space--which created a major mold issue, and also damaged the wall and floor of an adjoining room. After interviewing six mold remediation companies, we met with Jimmy from Twin Home Experts. Jimmy's grasp of our situation impressed us--he has a comprehensive knowledge of mold, leaks, plumbing, wall and floor repair, etc. We committed to Twin Home Experts on the spot--and are so glad we did! Carlos Garcia and his crew showed up on the first day and did an absolutely incredible job on the mold remediation. They meticulously wiped down all our furniture, then carefully moved and covered it outdoors (no other company had offered to decontaminate and move the furniture!). Then they got to work, eradicating the mold in the crawl space and interior wall. Carlos is truly a genius at mold remediation. Believe me, you will appreciate his fanatic pursuit of complete remediation, and his keen eyes scanning for any areas of potential future mold! We were also grateful for our wonderful project supervisor, Dalton. Dalton patiently explained every step of the work in detail, and was super knowledgeable about all aspects of our remediation and repairs. He really made the whole process go as smooth and pleasantly as possible. And last but not least, we were very gratified that Twin Home Experts stuck to their original (and reasonable) quote, despite encountering a few unexpected challenges in the course of their work. I looked out my window and noticed my neighbor had a worker there checking his meter and gas lines, so since I just had a outside gas barbecue installed I wanted to make sure there was no gas leaks. I went to go talk to the worker who's name is Sergio. He checked everything for me from top to bottom. He ended up actually finding a small leak that he fixed. I called this company for an estimate that I was prepared to pay for, a guy showed up and he said that there was not enough damage in the house to warrant removal that I should keep it clean, we went into the garage were the roof leaks from the deck over the garage and there is a lot of visible water damage, he said that he sees mold on the ceilings near a corner, I explained to him that my wife was diagnosed with Lupus and I have 3 children, he said that he would have a report for me in 3 days with different options, I offered him money ie.. I asked him how much did I owe him for his time and travel cost and he said no not to worry about it, I still tried as I want to be paid for my time and expense. I had a remediation requirement and after reviewing a number remediation companies on the internet I selected 5 to provide their remedy along with their estimate. These estimates were anything but uniform and it came down to who I felt offered the best solution. I selected Twin Home Experts not because they were the least expensive as actually they were one of the higher bidders but because their service representative, Dalton thoroughly explained their corrective solution and was responsive when I had follow-up questions after receiving their estimate. I was also in phone contact with Twin Home Experts office personnel and they were attentive, helpful and professional. This homeowner repair requirement can have several unknowns especially relative to the extent of damage and the cost of the reconstruction. Dalton took ownership of the work from the remediation thru to the reconstruction although Twin Home Experts does not actually perform the reconstruction but has vendors....plumbers....drywall, painting and cabinet installers who take over once the remediation has been completed. Throughout this process Dalton was involved and in communication with the vendors. All of the work has been completed in less than one week and our kitchen restored in perfect order. We had a mold problem to beat all mold problems and if that wasn't bad enough there was a God awful fungus eating away at the wood structure of the guest room ! .... We tried handymen and other so called experts to no avail. Then a friend of ours told us about the twin home experts. At this point we didn't have anything else to lose and we thought we'd give them a try. These guys were determined and didn't give up until they found the solution. It seems that it was growing from under the ground and creeping up the wood beams. They not only eradicated the problem they also rebuilt that entire section. I hired Twin Homes in February to remove black mold from my home. They came twice to remove mold in 2 places (didn't have enough chemicals the first time). I had the first service area inspected and mold was still there so Twin Homes treated the area again when they came back. The owner, Jim Schuelke, treated me like a deadbeat when I hadn't paid the online invoice by 2 pm the next day (I told him I'd pay the next day but didn't specify by what time). I was wary about such behavior at the time, yet still paid that day as promised. I now know why he insisted on getting paid so quickly and was so upset: The black mold returned within a week or so and I scheduled them to come back to fix the issue. Their representative was a NO SHOW TWICE. They refused to give me even a partial refund for a job NOT WELL done and have responded with a series of false accusations to support why they won't refund my money. As an example, after the first no show by their service rep, the rep showed up at my house the next day, UNANNOUNCED and UNSCHEDULED, and sat out in front of my house (not coming to the door for some reason). Because I didn't answer my phone and did not know he was sitting in front of my house (I also, didn't know I was on call to answer my phone at all hours of the day in case they randomly showed up), they assert that it's my fault the service wasn't done. The representative then failed to show up a SECOND TIME but that was again my fault, somehow. Please think TWICE about using this company. read more

They have been my Go-To technicians for in-wall plumbing issues, leak detection, mold advisory, grey water/common area pipes issues in a CIDs Common Interest Development Building in the past 2 years. I've recommended them to friends, neighbors, other moms. Last week, I found my vehicle parked underneath the carport pipes damaged in several areas. Because the weather's hot as heck, it's unclear where exactly the plumbing leaks came from while the space along the side of my car also have ugly rusted flooring discoloration. I immediately turned to the Jim-team who's always on-time. This is my 3rd experience. I knew what to expect, which saves me time, money, anxiety, distrust, especially with a young toddler and elderly care during unprecedented social discourse. It turns out 2 leaks on one pipe were leaking discoloring the concrete floors right next to my car (if I parked closer to the lines few more damages would occur for sure), 1 active leak right above the front hood of the car. The last one, although unclear, was a safety issue for the entire building, an on-point advice that I got.  Pipes inside a building needs LA City to permit its safety. Bingo! No oversight, no inspection. Completely didn't think that would matter in this case prior why the shotty pipe replacement didn't seal 100% now slow-leaking onto the wooden shed underneath. A report came out immediately with lots of documentation. This will help me immensely to getting them fixed by the management. Relieved.
