I had ordered a bottle of Ube Creme Liqueur as my friend texted that it was available so I ordered online for store pickup since I was in the area. I looked at the yummy Sauternes, a lot of which were rated 91+ pts! We have about 3 bottles at home so I just took note. I looked at the other liqueurs like Pistachios, Passion Fruit and the other fruity Moscatos I'd like to try someday. They even had Kosher wines & we were reading some of the labels which had Biblical names & titled. I'm usually buying some Caliveda Pinot Noir which is one of their best sellers. I stock up during the holidays when they have bundle deals. They have such an organized store and even have a Cigar area. They hold tasting classes in the back & upcoming ones will be for wine. The make suggestions, based on what they drink, and the little signs along the aisles on what Margaret the cashier drinks are helpful. The wine selection is okay. The beer selection focuses on the higher end stuff. I think there's cheaper prices next door at HEB if you're looking for Lone Star or Shiner Bock. Twin Liquor's beer selection is more for the harder to find, focusing more on IPAs. They offer all the airline bottles behind the cash register. Parking is easy- it's located out next to a pizza joint and a big HEB. There's a USPS mailbox down the way, which adds to the convenience.

Today I met the very gracious owners, Antonio and his wife, and they shared a few special iterations of whiskeys, iterations of which I had no prior knowledge. The very good surprise: Antonio offered samples of these iterations. Yes, samples of the whiskeys just as at the larger purveyors. Yelpers, I enjoy supporting local businesses, and for my money, this Thrifty location is convenient, staff is super friendly, and the owners offer insight of their libations that I consider important. Deals on deals! This is a rather spartan liquor store,…read morethat's attached to the Costco at USTA. Technically, you don't need a Costco membership to shop here. Just an ID. This liquor store is known for low prices on national brands. Do you like the #1 selling vodka or rum? This is the place to go. They don't really have a deep selection, it's just the most recent, or best selling brands, and generally in the largest available bottle size. In Texas, they can't sell liquor at the Costco, a liquor store must be its own separate entity. That's why they're doing it like this. The wine selection is generally cheaper price points than the wine sold within the Costco. The selection isn't as great either. Other states sell Kirkland's Best vodka or whiskey. Not this one. They don't offer Malort here. This store doesn't really have any ambience, other than industrial storage. They could use some signs and some cool displays like other liquor stores have. I always appreciate the life size cutouts of the latest celebrity to buy a tequila distillery. The clerk, Mark Anthony was helpful and pleasant and even got me a cool Jack Daniel's #7 box to take out my bottles of booze.
