First off, I love Hooters. So I already went in a bit biased. After previously trying to go to Twin Peaks and being told that the wait was three hours!!!!, we stopped in for a beer on the way home from the beach. We quickly got a seat at the bar and service was quick. We were promptly informed about specials and asked if we wanted to try their house beer. They had a blonde, described as tasting like Shock Top or Blue Moon and a brunette, described as tasting like Shiner. We got one of each. While I enjoyed the blonde, straightforward but not as spicy as a Blue Moon, the Bubs was not a huge fan of the Brunette. I have to agree it was quite watery.... and when you serve your beers below freezing, that has to tell you something about the depth of flavor... We decided not to order any food. The ambience was just okay. Smoking was allowed and the two couples across from us were alternating cigarettes and car-bombs. A solid Sunday afternoon for them. All in all, when choosing a fine dining establishment, I would take Hooters over Twin Peaks any day. read more

So the first time we went we had a bad experience. Our server was very rude. So after heading home i got online and emailed the manager telling him about our bad time. He emailed me back the next day, apologizing for the bad experience. He also sent us a $50 gift card asking us to try eating there again. So our 2nd visit was much better. We went late on a Sunday night, they were surprisingly really busy, after first arriving we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, but after checking for us again they got us a table in the smoking section after only waiting for a few minutes. Given that Hooter's food isn't very good our journey took us to Twin Peaks. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, which I thought was massive until I saw the Chicken Fried Steak - it's almosty twice the size. Bread pudding was really very good. Service was great. I've been to twin peaks a couple times and my visits have always been subpar....nothing special. Last week I went in for a quick lunch with my girlfriends but wasn't sure what I was in the mood for. I sat at a table and was warmly greeted by Cynthia, she took it upon herself to suggest a couple things for me to choose from and I went with the Chipotle chicken! Man was it good! I once had a dream: I found myself in an oversized log cabin -- with gi-normous TVs, showing games, sport pundits and highlight reels. But the cabin was also occupied by lumberjacks. Totally fun place. If you are in the area this is a good stop. Being similar to Hooters the clientele tends to be mostly men but I did see women in there themselves eating and the food is quite good. My coworkers said the pulled pork sandwich was very good. I really liked the chili, which would have received 5 stars. Also liked that they have wifi. The patio is also nice and they have a fire pit that would probably be very nice on cooler nights. Overall a good place but it is hard to compete with the number of places with "lightly" clothed female servers. read more

I used to love going here with my husband whenever we were kid free and wanted to go someplace for a drink and good food. The last time I went here, I asked for a virgin drink since I'm pregnant. The waitress looked really annoyed. She gave me a cup with no ice that was half full of "juice." When I asked for a cup of ice, she looked even more irritated and came back 10 minutes later with a cup of ice. She spent the rest of her time talking to her male friends at the next table and pretty much neglected our table. This was an isolated incident, but I think it's important enough to be noted. The waitress was so rude! If I hadn't had better experiences before, I would have just rated this place with 1 star. As for the food, most of it is really good. We liked the pulled-pork nachos. This place had a great relaxing vibe but our waitress, Hannah, was horrible. She brought us our first round of drinks in a timely manner and with a good enough attitude but after everything went down hill. She brought our food without silverware and my fries without ketchup. It took her forever to come back to our table but when she did she still didn't bring us our silverware and we ended up needed to get someone else to get it for us. Her manager & waitresses ended taking care of us. Later she came to ask if we needed anything and when my boyfriend said he'd like her to take his plate she gave him this patronizing look and stated that her hands were too busy. She took at least 1min to come back and take his plate. Why ask if her hands were busy to do anything? I'd hate to think this was a case of racism given that we were the only Hispanic group of people in her area & others weren't getting the same horrible treatment. The reason for four stars vs. five is that they have changed there menu since I have been here and my go to menu item (queso with beef) has been changed and now instead of ground beef in the queso it's chili venison (insert sad face) never less I got the BLT and it was really good and I love the steak fries with seasoning on them ... they where fresh and salty like I like them to be ; ). I've came twice. One time was about 2 years ago, I did not eat, but took a piece of their chicken tenders and a piece of fry. Nothing impressive. My most recent visit was about 1 week ago, had nachos, and their billion dollar burger than my barber recommended, along with a tall shiner. Burger was not bad, it would be impressive if you could make that at home. But at a restaurant my standards are a bit higher. The nachos were also, just okay. I've had nachos from pluckers, Lucky's pub, pappas delta blues- those are all superior to these. Also, the beer tasted flat, not blaming this one on twin peaks tho. You can't go wrong with this place. The food is hot, the drinks are cold, and the service is top notch. Some of the sweetest girls in Houston and the atmosphere is perfect. The bonus with this place is the indoor smoking section at the bar. I don't have to leave my table to go outside and smoke. Their house beers are always my favorite. First time to try this in our two years here...wish we'd known how great it was before now and we would have been regulars! We had the Triple Play which has guacamole, salsa and queso. I have been several times at this location. The location off Kirby and 59 is better and bigger. The League City location is still proper in size, and allows smoking at the bar as well as in the patio section. Compared to other sports bars, the choice of beer and food is less than bars found in airports. The food menu is thin and the drink choices are small. So if you are coming here, you are coming here basically for the atmosphere. Eye candy, HDTVs, and standard average bar food and beer earn this location 4 stars. Definately a cut above Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings. If you are looking to watch a specific game, call ahead as they have a list of games for each day, and they carry the DirecTV NBA, NHL, and MLB network packages.
