After passing this spot many times. Also remembering and missing the Spanish spot that was there before, finally gave them a try. Picked the sliders and tenders (spicy). The wait for long for the lunch rush. He said 20 minutes, but it was closer to over 30. A lot of delivery pick ups coming in and out, which is good but makes the wait long. Overall the food quality is good. Spicy really means spicy, even level one above none. Quick spot to get a meal. We will try them again and be more patient this time around. I thought y'all were hyping this up. From the photos, it looked like some basic chicken tenders. But I was hungry so I just ordered some take out. I must say, this is some good a** chicken!! I got the mild spice and it was more than spicy enough for me. The slaw and pickle added a nice balance. My only complaint would be that I wish the buns were toasted so they didn't feel as soggy from the slaw. Other than that, it was delicious and I was well pleased. read more

Food (5/5): Fot the two medium spicy sliders and fries combo. The slider was nice and crispy was well made chicken. The fries were also crispy and nicely seasoned. Service (3/5): Food took a bit long to come out at around 12 minutes. The restaurant seemed to open later than the scheduled time making us wait a bit before it opened. We just got pickup and besides those issues it was ok. Ambiance (4/5): Plenty of seating in the restaurant and was overall clean. read more

I'm pretty obsessed with this place right now. Really juicy crispy chicken, always arrives hot even with the delivery time. I usually get the 2 slider combo with fries but this time I just got one.. These sliders are big! Like what I would expect if I just ordered a regular sandwich. Crinkle cut fries, with the twinz sauce which reminded me of raising canes or zaxbys.. soo good. Now for the spice.. just know it's hot!! I got a mild and it was way spicier than I expected, but honestly so good that I keep going back. So let me start out by saying...i was so excited to see a hot chicken spot! We were on our way to chipotle but saw this place and decided to eat here instead. We got combo #2 at the highest spice level. It was spicy, but I've definitely had spicier. Good amount of food. Waited a bit, but the food was made fresh. The slaw, sauce and even bread was good. Ok, so I had no idea about Twinz in Jersey City until my friend decided that we should meet here for lunch! She was looking forward to their fried chicken salad, which they didn't have that day, but she ended up going with the sliders, which she loved. I didn't get to try it, but it looked scrumptious! Before I get into my order, I wanna say that this place is cute. It isn't super trendy, but it deserves to be! They've invested into the decor by adding some cool slogans on the walls in relation to their food, they have a few tables, and a few stools. It's simple, but really cool! When I placed my order, it was with a woman, whom I feel was one of the owners. She was super sweet and hospitable. I ended up ordering the chicken and waffles, which, I truly didn't know what to expect. I mean, it's chicken and waffles. I've had dozens of different interpretations of chicken and waffles, but girl....let me just say that the chicken and waffles at Twinz, is TOP 3! I said what I said! When my order was ready, I pointed out the steam from the chicken. It was JUST fried, child! Like, just now! I also pointed out the juice drippage from the chicken. It was an orangey color, as I asked for a medium spice level. I bit into this chicken and happily burned the roof of my mouth. Aside from its freshness, the flavor was SPOT.ON.! It was also juicy and crispy! And I must mention the waffles! These waffles were cooked to a science, hear me?! Perfect crisp edges, with the perfect fluffiness on the inside! These weren't frozen, store bought waffles, girl. Not at all, these waffles were FRESHLY and CAREFULLY made with LOVE! My appreciation had to be expressed to the woman who took my order. I was blown away by my meal and she needed to know. Twinz is simple in decor, and not fussy at all, but Linda listen.....the food is where the focus is, and it speaks for itself. So so surprised with this new spot in the JSQ area! Decided to stop by & see what the hype was about. They've got some indoor seating which is nice. I ordered the #1 at mild heat. (Or medium? I can't remember honestly). Took about 10 min to get ready, which wasn't a problem. So surprised with how big the "sliders" were, they felt like full sandwiches honestly. Twinz is one of the best Hot Chicken Spots I've ever been to and it never disappoints. The fries are always crisp and crunchy seasoned to perfection with a hint of spice. The sliders are always hot and fresh with a slight drizzle of their homemade sauce. I happened to walk by this place on the way to a friends house and all I have to say is WOW! Their decor is extremely chic and has some insta worthy corners. The service was extremely fast and I was shocked at how fast the food arrived. Now on to their best attribute, their food! I started with their staple, the fried chicken sandwich. This was life changing! The chicken ranges from mild to spicy and can be customized based on preference. It was perfectly crispy and full of spices and flavor, it was accompanied by waffle fries that were the right blend of crunchy and soft. The sandwich was also lightly smothered in this delish mayo based sauce which complemented the spices of the fried chicken. I ended the meal with a side of Mac and cheese which was extremely tasty and cheesy goodness! To say I was taken aback by this meal is an understatement. Don't walk here, RUN! read more

Very limited Hot Chickens in this area, so this was a pleasant sight when they 1st opened up. Not gonna lie, if you're not a commuter, this place is a nightmare to find parking. Anyway, the food......Made fresh to order from the fries to the chicken. Got the spiciest #2. Tenders were smaller than Dave's Hot Chicken and less spicy than Dave's hottest, which was just enough heat. Fries were fresh and crispy with minimal seasoning. The Mac and cheese was good as well. This is the most underrated chicken joint in Jersey city. I came with my boys and i was hungry as heck, I originally wanted some Buffalo Wild Wings and I'm so glad I came here instead. The combo #3 is better than your favorite candy at the county fair. It's better than a cold iced tea on a hot day. It's almost as good as a brand new pair of sneakers on the first day of school. The Nashville hot sauce was a little spicy but it was more of the sugar aftertaste that turned me off of it, I do not order with it mixed on now. The regular tenders are good though, with the right crunchiness and binding that it doesn't fall apart as you dip in sauce or handle it, and the breast meat is a lot but it is juicy and moist. Fries and the sandwich bread are good too, bread reminds me of Bunny bread in the South with how soft it is. read more

This one's a belter of a place. Ordered takeout and was delivered pretty quickly. I was cocky to think I can handle 'spicy', but the heat was a bit much. Unless you can stuff a raw chilli down your throat, I'd recommend you keep your spice level to'Hot' or below. The chicken was perfectly fries and their sauce was great too. When in jersey city this is the place to try a hot chicken sandwich. If you like spicy they will accommodate you, and if you don't they can cater to that as well. I recommend the combo with two sandwiches and fries, sauce is explosive too. My only downside in this review is that it's on a busy area so parking can be difficult but worth the trip! I contacted my husband after work and asked him to come directly to me because I had heard some friends mention this location today and had been looking to spoil myself a little. We only had to wait for our order for around 8 to 12 minutes, I believe. All it took was that. incredible We ordered two Combo 2 plates with loaded fries and additional chicken tenders. We devoured it all and liked the cuisine, even though I knew it was too much for us. the thin, crispy breading with twinz sauce and dry rub. Definitely worth the trip. read more

Couldn't have been less interested (unless it was someone offering me free tickets to an Eagles game; THAT I would have been less interested in, given my near-total boredom when it comes to sports of any kind). I did go through a phase during my college years (money ill-spent, given my subsequent "career" trajectory) where I ate lunch often in the cafeteria and invariably ordered a cheesesteak and a piece of German chocolate cake. Not quite sure at this late date what that was all about, but let's just say it's not one of my admittedly few "treasured" memories. Having said all that, I did order food the other day from Midtown Philly and was well satisfied. I was at work in Hoboken, suffering through yet another migraine and the nauseating effects of the medication I take for it (I really should have been home in bed, but if I take off every day I have a migraine...which is usually every single week and occasionally 2 or 3 days in a row...I'd be out of my job in no time at all). As I've perhaps mentioned in previous reviews, when I am in the throes of a migraine, it almost never proves deleterious to my appetite. If anything, it enhances it. I glanced over at my co-worker/friend, the former Godfather of Lunch (in his newly found sobriety from gluttony, he has sworn off ordering food to be delivered to our office, calling it "stress eating"). Not expecting an affirmative response, I asked, "You feel like ordering out?" Surprisingly, he immediately replied, "OK. We can't order Lo Fatt Chow anymore. What does that leave?" "What do you want?" He mentioned Midtown Philly. We had ordered from there before, a long time ago, and I hadn't disliked it, but...as I've said...I rarely, when hungry, say to myself, "What I need right now is a cheesesteak." This time, though, it seemed like an inviting and inspired change of pace, and I responded, "Ok. Let's do it." I ordered a Pittsburgh cheesesteak, which was the steak (ribeye, as I've learned-- not Steak-umm's, as I once thought), cheese, and tricolor coleslaw. The sandwich was just enough-- not enough to be uncomfortably over-filling, not skimpy enough to leave one hungry and feeling cheated. It was a moist, flavorful sandwich that did assuage my hunger, and left me thinking, "Maybe I need to re-think this lifelong indifference to Philly cheesesteaks!" It was helped by a plentiful side order of French Fries (they have a decent side order selection to choose from, if one is so inclined), which were crisp, just as I like them. They were too many of them, in fact, and I unloaded some on the Godfather, who in turn spooned over his tomatoes to me (don't ask me to explain his antipathy to tomatoes; I don't know! Tomatoes are one of the very few things he won't eat). I also had a lemon-lime Gatorade, which sometimes helps soothe (or so I've thought) a migraine, the electrolyte draining preparation for a colonoscopy, and...in the past...the fierce hangover left by an overindulgence the previous night in alcohol and opioids. I'm unsure what the Godfather ordered-- either the Diablo cheesesteak or the Volcano cheesesteak-- but it was ... obviously, given the name they've bestowed upon it...very, very hot indeed. Not something my delicate digestive system would have been able to handle (although I do sometimes wish fervently that I could still eat like that). However, the Godfather pronounced himself well satisfied on finishing it and he wasn't breathing fire in my direction. This was one time he didn't chastise me for "pushing" him into ordering food. They have other items one can order, like Hoagies-- including "Sinatra's Hoagie" (of course; it's Hoboken, after all!), which consists of ham, Genova salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, raw onions, olive oil, red wine vinegar. Next time, I might be tempted to order it. Salads too. And desserts. Prices were reasonable, delivery was quick and efficient, and the food really hit the spot, making the agony of my medicated migraine less intense and debilitating than it otherwise would have been. I very much recommend Midtown Philly. I look forward to ordering from there again, and I won't let a few years go by before I do so. And it has the enthusiastic seal of approval from the former Godfather of Lunch! What other recommendation do you really need?
