    Tiny wings, not pieces
    Nez B.

I ordered their 12 pieces with fries for delivery. The chicken is very crispy, salty, not very greasy. I couldn't taste any seasonings or flavor in it besides salt. The fries were bland and just ok. And the mac and cheese was decent. The one thing I was a disappointed about was that I expected to get various chicken parts like thighs and breasts in the "12 pieces and fries box." This is what most places mean by "pieces." Here, their boxes are just tiny pieces of wing. Which they should clarify as "wings" not "pieces." The wings may be nice and crispy, but they taste like high blood pressure. Given their mediocrity, I'd just avoid the sides altogether. They lose 2 stars on the misleading menu item naming and the salt flavored chicken. Even still, on taste alone, this is a 3-star chicken spot at best.

Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to rate a fried chicken joint when there are chicken shacks on almost every other corner in Jersey City, but this place deserves a bit of praise. As far as food goes, this is your normal chicken shack with a large variety of hangover curing food from fried chicken, to burgers, to chicken sandwiches, to gyros, to ice cream, and the kitchen sink. The food here is consistently good for what you pay at a chicken joint like this. Burgers are decent, chicken strips are AWESOME, fried chicken is good with the hot sauce, fries are always fried well, beef patties are average, gyros are fair... you get the picture. Not only that, but the service here is great. The guys that work at this location are always providing great service and work like madmen whenever orders are put in. No matter what time of the day-- whether its at lunchtime, dinnertime, or midnight snack time, these guys are always hustling and bustling to get you your order ASAP. Don't expect the best meal you've ever had here, but expect to be satisfied with your meal and expect to get it fast. Oh, and expect a lot of ANNOYING high school kids here... ALMOST lost a star because of that..

I like this place. 1) The fried chicken is good. 2) The mashed potato suck. One point off. 3) The food is cheap. 4) Open late. 5) I will recommend Kennedy's Fried Chicken nearby. Much better.

    Late night fried chicken.

This is not sober food for me. I love fried chicken as much as the next Atlantan ex-pat, so I tend to steer clear of fast food versions of it. But after a couple (or more) drinks, Hollywood starts to call my name. The chicken is better than expected. The white meat stays pretty juicy. The chicken is super salty, which isn't a bad thing in my book. The menu states that you get a biscuit in a snack box, but sometimes it's a sad little dinner roll. I have ordered a snack box each time I've been and have never eaten the mashed potatoes. They are pretty gross. Maybe I should look at the menu while sober to anticipate my next order. Hollywood has saved me from a terrible hangover a couple of times now, and for that I'm grateful. Everyone needs a place like that. Ok, all lushes need a place like that.

They have a big menu to choose from spanning from fried rice, kimbap, bibimbap, to stews and more. Their signature "make your own bowl" had so many options, came generously portioned, and was so colorful and tasty :D The customization starts with a base: white rice, multigrain rice, japchae (noodles), or salad bases and moves onto a loooong list of toppings. A few of the more interesting ones like bellflower and fern brake roots were sold out when I ordered for dinner. And who else offers a fried egg for no additional charge as a topping? The toppings are yummy by themselves because they are already cooked or marinated. Definitely a great way to get one's vegetables! Proteins include bulgogi, pork belly, garlic chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, and even spicy squid. For kalbi, there's an additional cheese. The bulgogi was well seasoned and hit the spot! A little on the sweeter side but I didn't mind. The texture of the meat is mushier than the usual bulgogi, more of a Philly cheesesteak texture, but tasty nonetheless~ Don't count on this being authentically Korean. The bowls come with sauce options, but everything was so flavorful that I didn't use any! I agree on the hefty portion size; it's enough for a big meal if you're hungry and otherwise two lighter portions. Since the flavors, color, tastes, and flavors were so delightful, I finished it all so don't count on it lasting for multiple meals :) Patrons can order at the kiosks up front or schedule online to pickup. There's plenty of seating that looks fairly comfortable. Service was friendly enough. For more than $20 with tip, it's kind of expensive for a meal, but for the variety, taste, and relative healthiness, this meal was on point!

The kimchi fried rice is so good, it's a big bowl with spicy rice, kimchi, little cubes of beef, and a fried egg to top it all off. Even after surviving the bike delivery transit, the bowl looks great and tastes even better. It's got a nice heat to it that makes the otherwise heavy ingredients taste even more interesting. And I'm not kidding about portions...I've never been able to make it through more than half a bowl, and usually have to stop after a third!

They have such a wide variety of interesting flavours and combinations, so I had a hard time deciding what to get. I ended up getting the honey garlic chicken burger combo and sweet chili chick n pop. The burger was one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had - the bun was light and fluffy, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned with the sweet honey sauce. The fries were pretty solid, but didn't stand out. I really enjoyed the truffle aioli sauce that I chose to come with it! I also loved the sweet chili chick n pop. I got the sauces on the side, but both were super good on their own or combined together. They're perfect little bites of crispy chicken and sauce! I'm super interested in trying the other flavours of fried chicken that they have. Food came delivered super quick - they did forget my drink in my combo, but I assume they might've just not had it.

It was a Sunday, kinda packed, but luckily we snagged one of the high-top outdoor tables. I got my basic burger, fries and a Coke. The burger was good, but the FRIES. The FRIES are VERY impressive.
