Scary fun time! Lots of screams and laughs! The setup is so frightening cool. I brought the family, and they went back in for a 3rd scare!

Death welcomes you to this death maze!!

Went to this haunted house cause we happened to be in Buena Park for Knotts and Disneyland weekend. Boy what a fun fun walk through this was. They set it up so they timed your walk through such that your group goes by yourself and your not stacked with everyone else in line. This way the spooks and creatures can really give you their attention. Loved the details in the sets and "rooms" we walked through and we had a great balance of experiencing surprise as well as creepiness, shock and gore!!! I understand why they have been a successful horror maze for so long. Work going to definitely!!!

Halloween fun! Nightmares totally worth it! :)

Is it ok for a 5 year old that loves scary stuff?

Child entry is at the parents' discretion. This haunt is not recommended for children due to its graphic nature, involving blood and gore. However, every year, parents will drag their kids through the maze, and that's fine with us as long as rules… Read more

Is there a long line to get in?

On Halloween, yes. Other nights the wait shouldn't be too long. In any event, the wait is well worth it.

I was wondering if it's still gonna be open even with everything going on right now and if its open, how much is it?

Hi! This haunted house is a rain or shine event. It's donation based so entry is free but donations are encouraged so they can continue to keep up the event every year

If you have a legitimate fear of spiders, claustrophobia, or any significant medical condition, 17th Door is not ideal for you. I didn't read about the experience at all; I just went so I could be surprised by the scares. This was both advantageous and my downfall...Cochino definitely shaved a "17" into the back of my head. That's ok for some jobs; wasn't for mine. But it was fun and easily remedied with a home hair cut :-)! The actors are great, experienced, and did an amazing job of balancing fun, fear, and safety. Only complaint is that we purchsed the VIP tickets and didn't feel a difference from the regular tickets, so wouldn't necessarily recommend the upgrade. I observed the regular line and we only went into the experience, 2 groups ahead of people that started with us. I'm sure this is time dependent--as it gets busier, you may see more of a benefit.

They offer a choice between contact and full-contact levels, and if you really want the ultimate experience, you absolutely must opt for the full-contact version. It elevated the intensity and made the game feel so much more visceral and real. A huge part of why this was such a standout experience was our Game Master, Marcus. He was phenomenal--professional, attentive, and he truly knew how to guide the game to maximize both the scares and the fun. The staff was super friendly but also knew exactly when to flip the switch and lean into the chaos. We had Joey as our host, and honestly... flawless execution. He worked hard to make us feel like we were truly trapped in a scary scenario, sprinkling just the right amount of tension, dread, and "oh no what did we get ourselves into?" energy. It was spooky, fun, and slightly unhinged -- which we loved. We're already planning our return for the Zoe room, and I cannot wait to willingly walk back into fear. Didn't know zombies stayed that minty fresh. Non-likes: - Bad traffic regulation. The staff weren't monitoring the car line that extends through the Lincoln Ave-Brookhurt St intersection. I was waiting at the intersection on Brookhurst St's north side at the red light waiting to turn right, when a certain car from the south side of Brookhurst St turned left and cut right in front of me, thereby blocking the intersection. What they were supposed to do is go straight through the intersection and then make a U-ey and get in line properly like the rest of us. - The vacuums were non-operational that evening. And I just LOVE the idea of them getting through your window and hopping into your car! I had some really fun and spooky interactions with a few of them. I understand they don't have much room to work with as far as set pieces, so if you're looking for themed rooms or facades like the hayride, this is definitely not for you. Given how long the wait was last night (though understandably as it was the Saturday before Halloween), versus how much time was spent actually experiencing what the haunt had to offer, I just don't think this experience was worth the price tag. Speaking of the price tag real quick, I also struggled to understand the validity behind their pricing tiers online. The prices change based on what time you say you're going to be there in line for the attraction. But it didn't seem to matter. I played the honest game, and bought the ticket for the time I said I could arrive , but I think I spent an extra $15 for absolutely no reason. I don't think $44 is worth a car wash and 5 minutes of interaction with actors. In my opinion they still could have made this a 4 star haunt if they hired more actors. There were SO many cars in line once you got on the car wash property and I think it was grossly misused by keeping their actors in one small area.

The staff was really friendly and even asked if we wanted it less scary or really scary. I chose "less scary" because of the two girls with us that were afraid :P‍ That said it was still eerie and had a good amount of scares. The best part is (again) the style of costumes and viewpoint of horror, spirits and ghosts in Asia. I won't spoil the specific scares but there is one part in particular where I had an "oh hell nah!" moment 0_0 The maze seemed kind of short, maybe 7 minutes, but i wasn't counting. There weren't really any extravagant special effects which could be good or bad depending on the person. I feel a haunted house can be good without all of the over-production. That said, this does feel like a lower-budget haunted house, but at $15, I found it to be worth it and my group had fun too I hope this maze gets more business because it could be a little bigger and get more staff for scaring. But sometimes you just gotta leap headfirst into an adventure and hope for the best! The Midsummer Scream Halloween & Horror Convention is held yearly at the Long Beach Convention Center for one weekend in August. Friday it's from 6PM-10PM, Saturday is from 11AM-7PM, and Sunday is from 11AM-6PM. Friday tickets are $40, Saturday tickets are $57, and Sunday tickets are $52. If you're not scared to spend, you can get a weekend pass for $73. If you're truly fearless, the VIP Gold Bat Pass is $199 that gives you priority access to admission (you can enter at 10AM), priority entry for panels/presentations/attractions, commemorative lanyard/badge & pin, and admission to the Saturday night party. We bought tickets for Sunday as it was the only thing not sold out. We arrived at the convention center around 9:40AM and it was packed from all sides! There are two main entrances on both sides of the center, so it really doesn't matter which side you choose. Both sides are split into multiple general admission lines. They passed out free tote bags and there were some people in horror costumes to take pictures with. Speaking of which, if you ever wanted to let your freak flag fly high and go all out dressing up, you couldn't have picked a better place! Loads of fans came dressed up in costumes and make-up - if you think you're overdoing it, you're not! Once the doors opened, the lines were quick to be guided inside (unless you have a bag, in which case security had to clear you). The ground floor had some photo ops and some food vendors. The main convention floor is below but wheelchair accessible (lots of disabled fans were present). They had a map of the area, but honestly unless you're there for a specific thing or person, just roam around! Horror and Halloween fans galore! It gets more crowded the later it gets, so the early fan gets the worm! The Hall of Shadows is its own section and features tons of mini haunted attractions like mazes, houses, and photo-ops. Very low-light and plenty of fog machines so watch where you're going! The Screaming Room showcases short films from around the world. The Black Cat Lounge is filled with cats to pet, cuddle or adopt. Paranormal Pixie's Pumpkin Patch is a gore-free and scare-free kid corner area with performances, book readings, coloring, and other child-friendly activities. Speaking of which, children 10 and under get free general admission to the convention with a paid adult guardian (2 free kids max per adult). The show floor is the biggest area and completely covered with vendors, celebrity booths, horror-themed coffee & treats, and much much more. If you're looking for make-up, they got it. If you're looking for cheap movies to buy, they got it. If you're looking for clothes/costumes/merch, they got it. You'll basically find anything and everything horror/Halloween related here, so make sure to get your steps in! There are also several photo-ops in every crevice and corner, so remember to charge your phone or bring your fancy cameras! We tried the Gorchata (horchata latte with pumpkin cold foam) from Coffinated Coffee, a churro cheesecake from Lunas Sweets and Treats, and a lemonade from a random stand. There are some food trucks out back and plenty of restaurants in the immediate area if you want actual food. We hit up every booth that had a spin wheel for free prizes like free/discounted tickets for Haunted Hayride, Magic of the Jack O'Lanterns, Evil Dead in concert, Street Food Cinema, and stickers/candy. Movie studios and theme parks had their own special photo-ops. Overall we had a blast for our first time at Midsummer Scream! Lots of things to see and do, lots of nice horror fans to interact with, lots of money to spend if you're not careful! Probably the biggest/only downside is that there are literally no places to sit, so be prepared to be on your feet all day! We saw some tables out back near the food truck area, but we were on our way to exit anyways. There's plenty of parking lots/garages in the area for different prices so don't stress over it (just remember where you parked though).
