The language on escaperoomera.com indicating refunds requested before their 24 hour window
    David T.

We booked an escape room with Escapade Games on July 2, 2025, spending $504 for six people plus a video of the experience. The website used to book (escaperoomera.com) clearly stated refunds were available if canceled more than 24 hours in advance. Our group canceled within that timeframe. I emailed the address listed on the invoice, zoe@escaperoomera.com, and asked for a refund, which they refused. They claimed the website was "old" and not connected to them, even though their own invoice directly referenced it. Both escaperoomera.com and escapadegames.us used the same Resova booking link. Their Yelp page listed escaperoomera.com, and their Instagram contact button still links to that same email. We provided proof, but they still denied the refund. Their "no refund" policy only appeared after the booking was complete. This matters because California Civil Code 1723 requires businesses to disclose refund restrictions in a conspicuous place before purchase. We initiated a chargeback and won. We thought that was the end of it, but Escapade Games then charged our card again without authorization twice, on July 26 and August 5, 2025. We had to dispute each charge with our bank, and eventually had to replace our cards entirely just to stop them. Since then, the company has updated its links and checkout flow to remove references to escaperoomera.com and prominently display its "no refund" policy. While that may help future customers, the fact that these changes were only made afterward acknowledges that their earlier practices were misleading. As you can see below, we've kept screenshots, invoices, and correspondence as evidence. If I could give zero stars, I would.

A great escape room. We went during the Halloween season and did the Zoe: Reborn. There were 2 versions they offered. One with less scary or more scary. We chose the more scary. I forgot what they called it. FYI: you will get tased with a taser, grabbed, and touched. Nothing they do is harmful that causes injury, but you have to sign a consent form. They give your rules and guidelines before the game so it makes you feel aware and they said nothing they do will actually harm. It was super fun. It is scary cuz there are people tazing and chasing you. Overall, highly recommend.

My teenage son went with his friends and they had a terrible experience. The actors were very physically abusive and malicious leaving scars from handcuffs and tazers (pics). Would not recommend for kids!

We had a blast! Ethan (hope I spelled it write) was amazing. The production was incredible. My family really enjoyed themselves. Can't wait to come back!

My parents, partner, and I are all avid escape room enjoyers, and we stumbled upon Escapade while looking for something to do the night before my birthday. We were blown away by the Pinocchio room; Ross somehow managed to juggle being the GM, Jiminy, and Gepetto at the same time, and aced every role! I have done dozens of rooms and this was easily one of the most interactive and unique. We had such a fun time that we decided to book a second room, Screamboat, the next day. Though there were a few glitches with certain gags or puzzles, our GM Giselle kept things flowing well and we had a lot of fun. Staff told us that this room is soon to be remastered with new puzzles to work out some kinks. Overall we had a great time and would definitely play rooms here again!

Sequel to Zoe and new location. We raved about Zoe as our fave horror escape room so when we heard there's a sequel, we got excited. Came for a bachelor party with a party of 11 . No spoilers but we had too much fun. Best game master was Winston and best actor was Ryan. Definitely recommend even if you never did the first escape room.

OMG! Freaking amazing! My family and I just finished Pinocchio and we were blown away! It was such an immersive game with creative clues. We were kept on the edge of our seat the entire time. It's a challenging escape room because you're scared the entire time... but soooo worth it. There is a live actor, ours was Ross, and he was the icing on the cake! He made the room come alive and was terrifying in the best way possible. We met the owner, Joran, and you can tell he absolutely loves what he does. 10/10 recommend. We will be back to try the other rooms and hope to work up the nerve to try Zoe. Thanks for everything Joran and Ross!

Ask the Community - Escapade Games

    Is this teen friendly?

It depends on the teen if they are open to scary horror events. We do not have an age requirement for this room, but we recommend 13 and up.

When will you release time slots for the experiment for Saturday, 7/30/22?

Our Last Experiment game will be available soon, stay updated with our site and instagram page! Check next week.

    Is vaccination required?

    No it is not

Hello! I booked an escape room for Zoe today at 5 but I accidentally booked it for one person instead of 6 people! I was wondering if when I get there I could extend it for 5 more people? I'll pay in full! Please let me know!

This happened to me and they were flexible about this😊

    Can I purchase inside?

Yes it is possible however w can't guarantee that you will be able to play immediately. Because it is appointment based the easiest option is to either book online or call to book. Thank you!

Do we need to bring ID?

We never had to show ID! They just ask you to sign a waiver!

Would a 15 year old be allowed to play Zoe if there is an 18 year old with them?

Hello, yes that is possible! The liability waiver must be signed by everyone attending.

Are there any new games at this location? We loved Zoe and want to do another one. Any other escape room suggestions? We've done all the Fox in the Box rooms too.

Does this room involve touching? Some of our group members are OK with horror but the touching is too much for them.

Yes. It is terrifying. Be warned.

Do they make you show a form of ID before you enter the game? everyone in my group is atleast 17, but not all of us have a permit or drivers license to show it. would another form of proof be sufficient?

No. Just fill out waivers and release forms and answer a few questions on a form.

When's your next room gonna open? I love Zoe. I am recommending all my friends to go. It was great. Please keep up the great work

I felt the elements section of the game (with the little notes) was a little vague.... we were super stuck there lol. We didn't get to experience the last challenge (solo to Zoe) and that was a disappointment. I seriously don't remember how we got… Read more

This means that you can bring your whole group in, and there's a chance you might have some strangers joining you as well if there's still space. Most rooms here fit up to 8 people which would be perfect if you had a large friend group. BUT if you only had 2-4 people and sign up ahead of time, be prepared to enter the room with new faces. Games start pretty on time, so make sure to be there with waivers signed! Also, they occasionally offer 20% off your next game once you escape the first! These games lean more on the tech side utilizing digital screens, electronic doors/buttons, lights, and puzzles - all of which I love! It adds more flavor to the game, while still providing the traditional puzzles feel with some rooms having locks, ropes, and mind-tingling puzzles. I would venture to say I like having more physical handheld clues like papers or props for decoding, but this place does get the job done. Some of the puzzles even require you to work simultaneously with your escape room team which creates more thrill! I have had friends that have gone here to the same rooms I have done where the rooms are slightly changed depending on the amount of people in the room or if the tech is broken - so just be aware that your experience could be different than others. For the price of about $42 a person you can't go wrong since there are multiple options that vary in difficulty from 3/10 to 9/10. Overall would recommend especially for a quick fun nigh

The room itself is gorgeous, it really immerses you in the story and the space is so large it was perfect for a team of 5 but can hold even more than that. The puzzle difficulty was not too bad for a team of 3 veterans and 2 first timers, although we took almost the whole hour, some of the puzzles were very straight forward and some may not have been but the answers are generally right in front of you. It was a good mix of Gen 1 and new Gen technology but moreso leaning toward Gen 1. But still did not disappoint at all and the story made the satisfaction of moving forward even better. GM was very helpful and communicative and would jump in to help if we had the right concept but maybe off a smidge especially if our time was cutting close which we appreciated! Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.
