We did the introduction class (3 for $59) it was fun, alive and the instructor was patient and knowledgeable. I would've loved to continue attending but their membership is not ideal. I have to commit to 6 months with automatic deduction from my account and no classes will roll over if missed. Unfortunately that was a deal breaker for me.. If they change their policy then I would LOVE to return. I just can't with that contract. read more

If I were to have written this review a year ago, it would have been five stars. However, the quality of this studio had completely plummeted since then. I have been on and off frequenting this studio for two years and I've seen it at its peak and now it's at the point where I wouldn't be surprised if it closes in the next few months. The owner, Tina, is hardly ever at the studio and in the two years of going there I've only had a class taught by her maybe five times at the most. The manager, Amy, is the teacher for basically every class they have now that they've fired the two most popular and helpful instructors Chrys and Lyndi. The studio now is extremely disorganized and honestly not worth the money you would pay to go there. It's also dangerous to go there! They are NOT licensed instructors in any way, even if it seems like it based on what they say. Their "personal training" sessions are borderline illegal because it's extremely dangerous to host those without licensing or insurance (which they also do not have) and they don't let the students listen to their body. If you don't learn a move right away, they're more likely to skip over it and say you're not ready for it than to slow it down and teach students as instructors should. Also watch out, as they do NOT do refunds on any purchases even if they accidentally charge you twice. All in all, this studio is a dangerous and disorganized place to go to. Please avoid it at all costs. Axis Fitness Studio is only 30 minutes further down the road on Sam Houston Tollway and they have licensed instructors if you need a pole studio. read more

I wanted to try pole class for at least a year and a half before I finally took the plunge and signed up.. I'm so glad I did! I was instantly hooked. The instructors are all very nice, very helpful at any level and make you feel very comfortable . I never once felt embarrassed or stupid trying to get the hang of the pole. It was a lot of fun, very rewarding, and a serious work out! I am sore in places I haven't ever felt get worked doing traditional workouts. I'm very excited and motivated to workout now. This is just my kind of workout. The atmosphere is very laid back and everyone makes you feel at home. I can't wait to go back tomorrow!! read more

I bought a Groupon last year for ten classes ($49) and redeemed it before the December 23 expiration date. I attended one class in December at 11:30am. The reason I purchased the Groupon was because of the daytime classes, as I have a toddler at home, so evening classes will not work for me. However, as of the January 1, there are only evening classes on the schedule. I feel as though I have been completely ripped off. Yes, I have a whole year to do the remaining nine classes, but the only way I could learn and do well at pole dancing is to do it regularly and consistently each week. This, however, will not happen now that there are no daytime classes. I am extremely disappointed, more so that there is no way to get my money back. Also, the one class I took that day, the instructor brought her three kids with her, ages 11 months, 2 and 4. I can't emphasize how dangerous it was for them to be running around screaming while we are trying to swing our legs in the air. More than once I had a child at my feet holding onto my pole. I honestly don't think I got much out of the class other than frustration and a bunch of bruises because I my form was constantly off as I was trying to avoid hitting a child. I have a two year old, so I know how it is to try and get anything done with them running around. Children that young do not belong in a pole dancing class, especially when we started doing some sexy moves. I felt really torn by it. It was not the experience nor the workout I had expected. Now I'm stuck with nine more classes to do and no idea when I can do them. Honestly I would just like a refund for the remaining classes and take my business somewhere more professional. I took a class here a few months ago as part of their Groupon offering, which may still be available if you're desperate for any kind of pole training. But ultimately, this studio is a hot, disorganized mess. The quality of the class differs from instructor to instructor, so be careful if you find one you really like - the next teacher is probably going to be disorganized, unhelpful garbage. As the class to teach us the dane routine was going on, the teacher who I enjoyed the least, Amy, was making up the routine, spending at least half the class preparing for the class. It was pretty upsetting. I was considering joining this studio to learn pole fitness and get in shape, but I have better things to spend my money on than someone who can't bother to prepare for her class and have a routine ready and actionable. I quit after a week. I'm just not made to enjoy other people wasting my time. read more

I'm not sure if it's fair to review since I've never been to a class here, but ... that's kind of the whole problem. I registered for my first pole class in advance. When I arrived at the correct building for the class, on time by the way, all doors were locked. I tried knocking - no one answered. I couldn't see inside due to the blackout curtains. I tried calling their number multiple times with no answer, and was unable to leave a message because the voicemail box is full. Still hoping for some explanation, I messaged TF via the contact form on the website. I still have not gotten a reply days later. The website looks very professional and I had been looking forward to a fun, new experience. I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem as I have, but I have been disappointed. read more

This place is a hot, unorganized, mess. I'm going to start with the studio itself, then move on to the instructors, then the prices. Studio: *It's falling apart. They put in new floors, which is something they were hyping up, but the flooring is already coming up, which is rather dangerous seeing as you are either walking around in heels, or barefoot, and those floors can trip you up, or rip off skin/nails. *The poles are constantly falling down, or wobbly, or just not securely in place. I saw a student's pole come down while she was on it during a class, and then a few other times saw poles popping out from the ceiling. *There are NO crashmats anywhere for when you start learning the more dangerous moves. They don't even have pillows! If you ask them to spot you, they will just stand by and watch you, often times talk to each other or another person, and not really paying much attention to your safety. When you DO fall, they will say "it's not that bad" and tell you to try again. *I have gone in and there has been no toilet paper and no paper towels.....so if you need to use the bathroom at all, I suggest bringing your own supplies. *Rarely if ever do they have clean towels to clean the poles with, so again, bring your own. *The poles are OLD. They are basically the same as a street sign pole, sprayed down with something to help you feel like you aren't using a regular Home Depot metal pole. They are huge, not competition sized, and they don't have the option to spin.....which, you'd think you'd be taught how to use spin pole at a pole dance place. Instructors: *Tina is the owner, has NO CERTIFICATION IN ANYTHING, and she's rarely even there. When she IS there, she never knows what anyone has been learning or working on and will just start throwing stuff out there, so I hope you have a small idea of how to do everything already. That's really all I can say about her, as I stated before, she's RARELY there, so I don't have much experience with her. She's been late to most of the classes I DID have with her, so that kinda is frustrating because my time is being wasted when I'm paying for her to arrive at a set time....she did give me the code to the studio once to let myself in when she was running late, which other students have said the same when I mentioned it. Apparently everyone has the code to get in here. Seems highly unsafe. *Amy is the manager and basically teaches every class now. She has NO CERTIFICATIONS IN ANYTHING EITHER. She does the same routines and same moves, and yet somehow never actually has these routines ready to learn, so spends most of the class "working on the routine". Many times during class, she will just go off and start working on her own stuff, or will just start staring at herself in the mirror and take selfies. Again, a waste of my time as the paying customer. If she has a bad day (which is more times than not) she will come in and take it out on the class, making you so exhausted with physical exercises like squats and pushups you can not do the thing you came to do, which is learn pole. She talks about other students, in front of other students. She's had other students open up the studio for her during her classes as well, and have other students help her teach, which again, why am I paying you my hard earned money just for you to schlep your JOB off to another STUDENT. I could youtube this stuff for the same benefit, but less money out of pocket. She's honestly my least favorite instructor, just because she comes across as rude, arrogant, and often times insulting with her remarks. *Lyndi used to work there, and she was amazing. I hate that she isn't there anymore because she was my favorite one! She was super friendly and always down to talk about the craziest stuff. She was the winner of some pole competition and it shows because she has MAJOR pole skills and is SUPER flexible! Not to mention she had YEARS and YEARS of dance experience! *Chrys used to work there too, and she was really friendly. I always felt like I was her best friend or something right from the moment I met her, because she is just that friendly. She focused more on the fitness aspect of pole, so it was always an amazing workout and you left feeling accomplished. You got the feeling from her that she really wanted to help you learn pole, advance, and see you grow. She had this really great foga class she did that was so much fun! Prices: These people, after all of that mentioned above, want you to pay 100 a month. You get a shotty environment that is potentially extremely dangerous, with instructors that don't show up, cancel classes, and never know what they are doing. I mean, I guess you CAN go, hope you get injured (you will, everyone has at some point) and maybe sue them for negligence or something. That's really the only beneficial thing that would come out of you going there. Try Verticality, Axis, or Revolve. Save yourself from this place. read more

This is in a cute little house turned studio in the Old Town area of Spring, which gives you the "old west meets pleasantville" kind of vibe. This was the first pole studio I ever went to about a 2 years ago. So take things with a grain of salt because hopefully they've changed but seeing them gain popularity on tumblr made me want to make people aware of what I now know was a very unsafe experience at Twisted Fit. I'm lucky I only minorly hurt my shoulder while there instead of seriously injuring something When I was there they had me and my friends inverting after only a month of classes. There is no way any of us were strong enough and tina was actually teaching us to kick up instead of engaging our lats and transversus properly. There was no corrective action for our poor form and this is how I hurt my shoulder, and later threw my back out of alignment from falling, but I'll get to that later. They had us learning bracket grip in the beginning of first class, which isn't terrible hut they were teaching it improperly which could have contributed further for my shoulder injury and still leaves me with wrist pain today. I don't know if they were actually teaching it wrong or if in the 3 months of my classes there, they never actually bothered correcting something so important. Finally, crash mats!!! You CANNOT let people do laybacks and inverts with NO spotters without crash mats. Its so irresponsible and the number of times I fell on my back its no wonder I was left with back pain for a year after that I'm still in the process of fixing after 3 months at the chiropractor. I have no idea how you have insurance. Just because you are good at something does not mean you should teach it. For a while I thought all of this was good and fun and not a big deal but as soon as I moved to a safe, anatomy based studio in dfw, I learned how terrible the conditions I first learned in were. Now that was two years ago and I hope that's changed for the sake of their students but PLEASE call and ask about safety related questions before you go. I am so lucky I didn't get hurt worse than I was. The teachers are nice but their safety is abysmal. read more

After hearing about Twisted Fit from several of my friends, seeing it on Groupon numerous times, I FINALLY decided to check it out. This is a ladies only fitness studio (sorry guys) that has a variety of workout programs to choose from. I tried for the first time tonight the pole dance class. It was so much fun and a great workout for your whole body. Forget all the stereo typing and the judging because it's not a strip class. This is a real art and a great workout for everyone. There will be sweating involved and you might even be sore the next day! :) I highly recommend Twisted Fit to any and every woman who is looking for a comfortable, laid back but serious place to workout. I started going to this studio on January, it was awesome! I had an amazing instructor Chrys.. However as time passed they started cutting her classes forcing everybody to take classes with the owner and manager, tina and amy.. Most of the time these 2 instructors will practice their own routines and will not acknowledge the students, not to mention the fact that you could not complain about the unprofessionalism without them getting so deffensive and rude! Save your time, money.. I would look for other studios out there! read more
