    Texas Bombshell Beef Chili Bowl
    Kasey Y.

Came here for a light lunch at Local Foods and it was the perfect spot for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. I ordered the crunchy chicken sandwich turned into a salad along with the texas bombshell chili. The salad was super fresh and light--perfect for a sunny day--and the chili had great flavor with just the right amount of heartiness without feeling too heavy. Service was friendly even though it was a busy day with lots of families and pets around. We sat outside on the patio, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable. I also loved the area--there was a farmers market happening right outside, so we got to walk around afterward and enjoy the neighborhood. Definitely a great casual spot for fresh food and a laid-back vibe.

I liked this spot. It gave me cafe vibes and a good place to get lunch at with a friend or even by yourself. The place was spacious. You go up to the counter and order and then they bring it to you. The sandwich had a good balance of flavor and portion. It came with chips and was the perfect size. The salad was huge and loaded with ingredients. It filled me up and I barely could even finish it. It was so packed with nutrients and flavor. Everything tasted fresh and looked aesthetically pleasing. The parking also wasn't bad but I don't know if it's because went at an unusual time during the weekday.

I had an awesome experience at this restaurant. It's very pretty, cool vibes, and overall really cozy place to get some food. We got the Brunchy chicken sandwich which was delicious and all the ingredients were full of flavor and really tasty, I recommend this one for sure if you're in the mood for brunch. We also got the steak sandwich which was super rich and packed with meat and caramalized grilled onions. The workers were great and very nice and they also have tasty drink options with strawberry lemonade and black peach tea as well as a citrus green tea which is very crisp. Overall super happy and will come back !

This place came from the now shuttered Benji's restaurant that was an amazing spot. I am glad their culinary skills continue in this upscale fast casual spot. I have never had a bad meal here (crunchy chicken sandwich with the pozole soup is my usual). The only thing I did not like was their pickles. The service is always top notch and quick (it is counter service with table delivery for the food). Definitely a spot you want to check out if you are visiting or have not yet tried!

I have frequented the location in Rice Village, but this is the first time I'd ever visited this location in the heights. I will say I was actually very much impressed with not only the space inside, but also the overall vibe. The interior (and exterior) are immaculate, well lit, and the decor/design is very appealing to the eye This spot was busy when we visited, but there was practically no wait. You walk up to the register and place the order. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient There were plenty of seating, and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. If you're in the mood, consider swinging by the fully stocked bar to grab a drink as you wait or as a nightcap The menu offers a variety of delicious foods, but I'd be lying if I said I was ever going to order anything other than the crunchy chicken sandwich. This is one of my favorite sandwiches. It's hearty, fresh, the textures/crunch work well together, and it's very flavorful. There's a variety of sides to choose from, and I would recommend the red potato salad as my favorite There isn't a lot of parking, and the shred lots get full quickly, but you can always find street parking nearby if you don't mind a short walk Some tips: If there's a line and you're unsure what to get, grab a menu at the station behind the line (situated as you walk in), so you don't feel rushed I will say it again, the crunchy chicken sandwich is one of the best if not the best chicken sandwich in Houston. Please try it Cheers!!

The crunchy chicken sandwich is my go to menu item and sometimes I get it in a salad. Their sides change depending on the season however the pumpkin seeds and pickles were phenomenal! The service is always quick, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food. The staff is so friendly and the restaurant is always clean and stays moving throughout the day! This is a weekly staple!

Located in the Heights area, this fresh food eatery has a cute patio area and lots of indoor booths, tables and bar seating. As you walk in it can be a bit confusing as where you should order but there's staff members near the register that can assist you. However the staff isn't very helpful and you are left to make decisions as you reach the register, so be prepared to order. It's more self service so feel free to tip as you please. The food is where this place shines: the pozole was delicious, it came out steaming and it was well presented. It tasted authentic enough as my friend that I came with us quite familiar with Mexican cuisine. The salad was super healthy and it was a large portion that can be shared! Lots of greens and crunch textures, the dressing wasn't overwhelming and was just right.

Can't go wrong!! Will always recommend for a quick lunch with friends. Service is self-serve. Gets crowded on the weekends too so sometimes you have to wait for someone to leave. Price is decent, but it's good quality so you get what you're paying for!

I'm already planning my next visit! They had great customer service and all the food looked very fresh and farm grown. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super nice. I was torn between some of the side options and she allowed me to taste to see which one I preferred. My friend didn't like their soup and they replaced it immediately- no questions asked. It's a super casual spot that has a ton of options! I would also say they give great portions. MENU CHANGES MONTHLY

Anytime I crave healthy foods, my brain and stomach immediately default to Local foods- a houston staple with many different locations. Crunchy chicken sandwich on a delicious pretzel bun is the only thing I need. I would be satisfied if this was the only menu item they had. Each entree comes with 2 sides as well. I typically bounce between the kale salad and potato salad, but occasionally they will throw in a nice switch up in the line up and I'll opt for something like the apple beet salad. The sandwich is pretty big, so I can often get two meals out of it. All of the locations have cute vibes with both indoor and outdoor seating. Will continue to frequent local foods!!

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). They warm the bread, remove the inside and leaves the crispy outside to fill in with salad. Their salad recipes are good, especially the southwest one with avocados and black beans. Oh, so many tables to sit alone or as a group. Great place to be ! Leaving satisfied and would want to come back!
