This is a top favorite of mine,I've been a regular for over a year and they never disappoint I bring my friends and family and they've all loved it, I love that they use local and fresh ingredients and you can tell in the quality of the flavor and the richness. This place came from the now shuttered Benji's restaurant that was an amazing spot. I am glad their culinary skills continue in this upscale fast casual spot. Anytime I crave healthy foods, my brain and stomach immediately default to Local foods- a houston staple with many different locations. Crunchy chicken sandwich on a delicious pretzel bun is the only thing I need. I would be satisfied if this was the only menu item they had. Each entree comes with 2 sides as well. I typically bounce between the kale salad and potato salad, but occasionally they will throw in a nice switch up in the line up and I'll opt for something like the apple beet salad. The Yale location by far is the best as I have tried others. They are consistent in the regular entrees on the menu. I get the same thing most of the time, but I ventured out and tried the Chicken and Waffles brunch. I am unsure what type of batter they use, but it is not buttermilk. However, I was surprised by the light texture and you could taste the cinnamon. The chicken was fried to perfection and was not the bulky typical whole chicken piece. They marinate the chicken so it totally gives flavor. The batter is light and crispy. As you can see, presentation was on point and photo worthy!!!! We were greedy and also ordered the breakfast plate and the eggs were not what we ordered. However, once we told the server she told us to keep them and brought over a plate with the correct style we wanted them cooked. The service is always amazing as they are quick and hospitable. You can actually take a walk on the trail after eating or do some shopping. They serve cocktails and the space is very open. I am obsessed with the Yale location and moving forward this will be the only one I go to as I have been disappointed by the other locations. The ciabatta was the right amount of softness and chewy. This sando is the primary reason for 5 stars. Posole: Above average green soup. Had a good flavor. Avocado BLT, $16: large thick slices of bacon. I nicely put together sandwich. It was not bad at all, but I would probably look at other items on the menu ahead of this. It was a good lunch. Food was exactly what you would expect at local foods , customer service was good as well, however .. what makes me dock this otherwise fine experience is the accessibility. It is marked online and advertised as handicap accessible. However I believe there is only one or two handicapped parking at the complete opposite end of the complex. And all the parking is pay to park unless it's during times they deem it's acceptable to have the first 2 hours free. To walk in they do have extremely heavy doors that without assistance is impossible ; you will need someone else's help. Aside from all of these issues I went to the first table I saw and they have very limited space under the first few tables and this weird gap in height at the end of the bench so it was super uncomfortable and a bit pain to navigate due to my own injury. So I opted to sit outside with the Grackles and finish my meal. The busser was super nice and very attentive I'm sure very quick as so the grackles don't swoop down for the food, otherwise the food was good. I do with hopefully they make it more accessible in the future before marketing it as such. read more
