Sure in the Des Moines Area we have loads of options at premium prices, but do you get top notch quality products from the best technicians? I have allowed numerous businesses to try and top others in facials, nail care, hair, clothing, and eye lash extensions only to have buyers remorse. At J Michaels I have returned for high quality eye lash extensions from Cassie. Here I have no worries on the length, glue, eyelash quality, or time because Cassie is a top notch Eye Lash and Brow Technician who knows her craft and after having her attend to my lashes for over six years I have no worries as I settle into a private room and allow her to work her magic allowing me peace and comfort. Even though they are not experts in my type of hair the techniques I see them applying to the upscale customers are exquisite and chic many walk out looking like a half million dollars. The total aura of the environment is lady chic, clean, and cosmetically sterile with a good venting system and super friendly and very professional customer oriented stylists. I'm satisfied with the way my nails look after the service. My only small complaint is that when they do my finger nails, sometimes I wish they would get a little closer to my nail bed. It makes them look like they grow out faster because they already start with a gap that's around 1 millimeter (pictured). My most recent visit it was $16.50 for a simple eyebrow wax. As a broke college student this was a major shock when it came time to check out. I drive home just to see there's so much hair that was not waxed off. The entire upper portion of my eyebrow still had hair along with in between them and a few hairs underneath my eyebrow. I remember her waxing these portions, but there is very clearly hair there. In my honest opinion, it is very hit or miss here and absolutely not worth 16$ when you get a half waxed eyebrow. There are obvious hairs that were missed (more than a half inch) and it feels very incomplete. I still have hairs on my backside which, in my opinion, should've been cleaned up.
