Additionally, I noticed that a considerable portion of the newly installed concrete slab is distinctly discolored due to inconsistent or improper mixing. After a substantial amount of time, Macario showed up to pick up his equipment. I confronted him about why the job wasn't finished. He informed me that the general contractor wasn't paying him. I offered to pay him, so he finished the job the next day. 2nd job: Same exact thing as the first job. I wasn't sure who to fault, me or him, for using the general contractor. Macario does great work and is inexpensive. He put in a drain when he poured one of my concrete pads near the hot tub that works great! I would suggest contacting him directly. His mixed approach saved us a significant amount of money with the 15-year old fence looking as new as the new fence. The photos do not fully capture the final color and the clarity of the grain. He has a very good sense of modern design and also form vs. function. The fence included a 14' rolling custom gate and full automation. His pricing was excellent and he has worked well with my budget. In fact, we've gone over my budget because I've had him extra work beyond the original quote. The initial estimate was around 13k and we've gone much higher with additional work. We have done around a 30% deposit and then payments based on completion. I'm glad to support a local small business. His crew has been considerate of the work site and have done some extra things like moving plants, etc. Given the custom nature of the fence, it has taken some time to build as he has fit me in with other jobs in the area.

We agreed upon price and scope of work and then the scope reduced because concrete pouring and stamping on my existing patio had to be cancelled because of foundation warranty and all that was needed to be done was coat of paint instead. Requested Eric to adjust the price accordingly but he refused to. The color of the extended patio came out very different and Eric didn't seem to care. After newly done extended patio had chips and when requested Eric to fix it, he didn't care and refused to fix it. Attached is one such picture. Our experience thus far with Max (the owner along with his wife Nicole) has met and exceeded all of the above. While they were not the cheapest bid they were BY FAR the BEST VALUE with all the extra guidance, support, and attention to detail Max has provided. I also love that Max is easy to talk to and has a lot of experience which he love sharing in an educational way. Another huge difference we encountered in the bid process is that Max's bid came with footing recommendation (if you don't have plans) and his bid was way more detailed in the scope of work that would be completed. Way more professional than emails or standard invoice with a price on it...(come on "other guys") We can't wait to post some finished pictures but wanted to share how happy we are with them.
