I went yesterday and got ice cream and Megan was really nice. She makes sure she gets my order right and is very polite. The only recommendation that I have is that you hire 2 people for a shift. So happy I got to make it here because it's honestly stuck out to me since I got to Philly ! Super cute ice cream shop w/ the cutest worker by the name of Linda. It's like she perfectly fit the whole experience =) Stopped by on the way back to the house on one of the last hot days, happy we made it too because she let us know this was the last week. It her know this was my first time there and she really made the experience memorable. In a sweets mood, I was stuck between the funnel cake and ice cream as well as the apple pie sundae, so she made me feel very special when she combined the two =) I got the nice hot and fresh funnel cake that was cooked even toastier and crispy than I ever had before, she topped it off with pumpkins pie ice cream, whip cream and yes nice hot apples this was honestly hands down so delicious. The pumpkin pie ice cream was the highlight especially with cake pieces inside of the ice cream. WILL NOT BE BACK! Visited Twistee Treat on Frankford Ave for their Season Opening on Saturday April 1st. The young woman who greeted me/took my order was more than happy to be able to provide a small cup of whipped cream for my pup to enjoy, alongside with my ice cream! :) Fast forward two days later, we go back and I was denied a cup of whipped cream for him this time - by the owner! I was more than willing to pay but she made it known that they wont do it again and that she "doesn't normally do this". Twister Treat is a very cool place to bring the family. The building is shaped like an icecream cone. The parking lot is clean and attended to. The ice cream is delicious and inexpensive. They Al'so have Sundaes and other treats as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking and the lines are rarely long. We come here all the time as it is in our neighborhood. It's an old school classic that should never go away. It has the classic soft serve ice cream cone/bowl look to it, something you can't miss from the street. The parking is iffy, but work able. I guess parking maybe my only issue. The soft serve is your classic flavors and the hard ice cream is also your normals, choc, vanilla, strawberry and usually one special. The birthday cake was my last special ice cream I tried and it was close to perfect. They surely use heavy cream and quality cake ingredients, a decadent treat. But I must say, this will be my go to stop for ice cream. my husband had the banana split, which was delicious, my daughter had a chocolate/vanilla shake and I had the pumpkin pie ice cream. My sister and I, the illustrious Miss Gina M., have been referring to Twistee Treat as the isolated ice cream cone forever, since it is quite literally an ice cream cone in the middle of a parking lot. But from that cone comes the best ice cream in the neighborhood. For those like me that prefer hand dipped ice cream to soft serve, this is the only place of its kind to get it. They also have a wide selection of water ice and soft serve as well, if that's your thing. For around the same price as a gelati from Rita's, one can get a legit ice cream sundae; my favorite being made with green mint chocolate chip. The prices are very reasonable, there is plenty of parking, and the high school kids working here are sweet. Best ice cream around! read more

The fact that its a neighborhood hit with anyone who lives in the area, makes it a great place to enjoy some soft serve. There are many items to choose from, different varieties of flavors of ice cream, to different cones, to different toppings; price wise I think it might be just a little too pricy.
