Amazing ice cream place, have went countless times with family, and no issues whatsoever. Not many people ever there, and the few times there's a line it moves fast. The workers are great and never have caused issues, and one time they were talking with friends I'm assuming in-front of the line and the people in line talking to the employees (I'm assuming) moved right as we walked up. Very professional, and the atmosphere always makes it just that little more pleasant. Overall, 5/5 place for some amazing soft serve ice cream. read more

Twistee Treat is so cool, I love that it looks like a giant ice cream cone. They have seating, but it is outside only. I have always loved chocolate malts but nobody ever has them. When I saw they had them, I was super excited. I ordered the chocolate malt and it was delicious and brought back wonderful memories of my childhood. This place is awesome! My husband and I stopped by yesterday for the first time and it definitely won't be our last. The menu had something to offer for everyone, tons of flavors and toppings. The employees were kind and efficient. The line was a little long (which is a good thing) and still the staff was friendly and took pride fulfilling everyone's orders. Twistee is a nostalgic look at Ice cream. And where else is better for a cone in the country than here. My dad and I were driving an errand the other day in Tavares and I suggested we stop at that large cone looking place and have an old school father and son cone. It couldn't have been more classic if I tried. It felt like about 90 degrees out so whatever we got was going to be awesome. My dad: classic vanilla on a cone. He looked as happy as a pig in ummm, mud. Me: chocolate ice cream Sunday, with hot fudge and pretty much everything else. They were fantastic. We ate them in that silence you do when what you are eating is just too good to keep up small talk too. The one down mark was no hard ice cream. It's so much better and I crave it so much on a hot day. But I get it. It's a pain to maintain compared to frozen yogurt. That aside I couldn't have been happier with our stop. Located off of 441 in Taveres, the cone beckoned us on our drive up. We had to stop on the way out of town. I'm happy to report that the cones were as good as I remembered and had my folks talking about the good old days as we pulled into the parking lot. If you are a twistee purist, you can get the rich and creamy soft serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. A walk on the wild side will have you swirling chocolate and vanilla or vanilla and strawberry. There are also hand dipped flavors, if you want to go that route. The swirly cone roof drew us in, so we went for the soft serve. $2 will get you a small cone, which is a medium size anywhere else. Service was fast and friendly, on a nice day the picnic tables will be filled to overflowing and happy people will be licking their cones with smiles on their faces. read more

I love me some Twistee Treat. In my opinion it is the best soft serve in the area. The ice cream is simple but so creamy. It is a challenge to eat it before it melts on a hot summer day. I always get the same thing: vanilla waffle cone dipped in chocolate and rolled in rainbow sprinkles. Delicious! The only reason this Twistee Treat gets four stars instead of five is because of the location and seating. It is located in an old shopping center with a great view of rushing traffic. There are only two tables to sit at and the small umbrellas barely block the sun. Some fans, better shade (more/bigger umbrellas, trees) and more seating would add a star. read more
