I am the parent of a competitive team member who was recently enrolled at Twisters Gymnastics. After our experience, my daughter has asked to be withdrawn from the program because she feels uncomfortable. She reported that she was physically struck by coach Bertha for having her fingernails and toenails painted. Physical discipline is not acceptable. If there is a grooming policy, it should be communicated directly to parents -- not enforced through physical contact. She came home visibly shaken and afraid. Two days after a competition, a group message was sent implying that a family had caused an incident and warning that families could be removed without notice. I responded because I had briefly defended myself after another parent nearly became physically aggressive toward me. When I later suggested clearer direction for where lines should form to prevent confusion in the future, I was told that as part of the team I should "help instead of making comments." During that exchange, I was also told to "keep these messages as reference for future accounts" after I requested written communication for documentation purposes since I could not attend in person. Professional communication should not feel intimidating. In a separate instance, when I asked about a holiday discount poster displayed at the gym, l received a dismissive response rather than a simple clarification that the discount did not apply to the competitive team. I was also told that if I did not like how the business was run, I could remove my daughter from the team. Ultimately, that is what we have chosen to do. Most concerning, my daughter's father later informed me that he was told future communication would be directed only to him, despite me having full custody and being an active, paying parent. Parents should be able to ask reasonable questions and raise concerns without being met with hostility or exclusion. Most importantly, children should feel safe and supported in their sport. Based on our documented experience, we cannot recommend this gym and highly discourage children ve coached by Coach Bertha. Children should be treated with respect as much as the parents. Stay vigilant and listen to your children, if you chose to bring your kids here. read more

This gymnastics facility is not very clean, the coaches here are not very friendly. My daughter had been part of this program for 6 months and her class jumped on the trampoline and did the same line drills every practice. Only one coach teaches the kids and it's seems like there's no structure or care for the class. It's a waste of time, if I wanted my child to exercise I would have her join a fitness class. This place is supposed to provide gymnastics fundamentals but they do not. There's another gymnastics program less than 5 miles from here that's more structured. Also adding the owner has her favorite gymnasts, you can tell who gets treated well there and who doesn't. read more

My daughter has been in the team for 4 years and started doing recreational at twisters. The coaches are not only about making your kids good athletes, but they show them great morals to apply in their lives. If you want your daughter or son to not only be a good gymnast, but also gain some values on every day-to-day life bring them to twisters. read more

Great local place to bring my daughter for gymnastics. She enjoys the training and the exercise which is a huge plus for us. I like the discipline and the way the training is conducted. My 11yr daughter has been attending this gym for a year and a half now. Coach Bertha expects nothing but the best, and does not tolerate laziness. The coaches are very disciplined. The only con regarding this gym is they need to work on their commutation with the parents. Otherwise, I recommend this gym, your child will learn discipline and will get very fit. read more

Coach Bertha is an amazing human being. She was my coach when I was a young girl and has also coached my cousin and 2 generations of nieces. Her coaching style ensures that athletes are both physically and mentally ready for competition. She works hard to expose students to regional, state and national competitions, while keeping her prices low compared to other gyms. During COVID, Bertha had made efforts to ensure the safety of the girls by following all recommended guidelines. Honestly, this place is a hit or miss depending on the coach you get. My daughters have had almost every coach. If you are looking for a lot of working out and learning a lot of techniques I would suggest coach Rositta. The kids always come out exhausted from her classes because of how hard they work. She's fluent in spanish so sometimes it's hard to understand her but she teaches the girls new things all the time. If you have a little one or need someone with more patience, I would suggest coach Bonnie. She's really good at easing the kids into working out and teaching them of the discipline that is expected. She will push the kids but not to the point that they can't handle, and she likes to play with the kids making the class fun. You can also really see how much she loves the girls and my daughter really love her too. My youngest had a really hard time moving on to another coach when it was time. Coach Nathalie is also really good too, but she's a lot more tough/louder with the kids. If your kid can handle it she really pushes them and is a good fit. My eldest daughter loved her class with coach Nathalie, coach Bonnie and coach Cassy. This is also my favorite as a parent. This class has a good balance in coaches that work well for different kinds of kids personalities. I really like this class too because they make working out fun and play music for the kids as they run. My daughter always talks about how they have fun in this class. Also with more coaches in the class I feel the kids are able to do more and learn more. This is a great place to bring your kids to learn gymnastics, but I would never have my daughters on the team. Those coaches are really mean and so rude to the kids. I've seen the way they yell at them and treat them, and I as a parent do not like it. Coach Bertha is the owner and the main coach of the team. She's extremely tough on the kids, and I don't know if it's a language barrier, but she's really rude to parents when answering questions both in person and on the phone.I prefer to go to the lady who's always in the office to answer my questions. Coach Bertha is really rude, but she has great employees who keep the kids coming. If this gym didn't have coaches that my kids love and have fun with, then I would have stopped bringing them a long time ago just because of her. Twisters gymnastics is an amazing gym which my daughter is currently attending. She has been there for 5 years now. Started recreational gymnastics and is now currently in level 2. She loves all of her coaches. My daughter has learned so much from Twisters. Coach Bertha is great with her students. She is a coach that goes out of her way to help out her community. She finds ways to make it fun for her students and not having it only be about competing. My daughter is always eager and ready to improve and succeed in gymnastics. read more

This place is very rude. You can't talk to someone over the phone, they say it's because of covid as to why they don't have anyone answering which makes no sense because they can text but can't talk... you can't go in person and see the place before signing up your kid to see how it is. My little sister has been coming here since she was 8 she's now 12. This is a great gym with great coaches. She is now in level 3. She has participated in countless competitions. My sister's team has won 1st place levels division. She's been to state twice and nationals. She won 2nd place in nationals, her teammate won 1st place. Which only comes to show how great this gym is and how the coaches really work with the gymnasts! read more
