Arrived here by boat, which was totally awesome. Got a table in the outside area overlooking the water. Great local feel. Good casual food. Got the crab cake sandwich, with a huge crab cake. Good stuff! We wanted to try somewhere new this time around and went to Twisties. From the outside you can't tell what an awesome gem it is BUT as it turns our it used to be a speakeasy! The view is pretty great and since we had a short wait for our table we had time to enjoy it and actually went back out for some after dinner drinks. To start we ordered some steamers with the white wine broth - I could have ordered 3 more bowls of it, it was so good! There was also a red wine broth and a lemongrass ginger which I don't doubt are also very tasty. I got the ahi tuna salad and it was really good, the tuna was prepared perfectly. It initially came with a honey sriracha dressing but I'm not one for spicy food and I ordered it with the balsamic. My husband got the cuban sandwich and there wasn't a crumb left on the plate. We weren't in the mood for dessert but I'm sure there were some good things on that menu! We will go back here and I feel silly for not having gone earlier-I've been going to the shore since I was a kid! I recommend it! read more

Twisties is the best place to go in Strathmere! Visiting from Florida and they make you feel right at home. Nobody is a visitor here, everybody is treated like family! I had the wings and they were fabulous! My husband had the clams linguine and they were fabulous as well! If I have one complaint, too much food! Come hungry. I had dinner here and was happy to be seated right away, even on busy Labor Day weekend. It was loud inside because the bar was crowded (why i only give 4 stars, not 5). The staff were friendly and competent. Our drinks and food were brought to us fast. I had the turkey club, which was good and my aunt had a burger, which she enjoyed. Extremely overrated, not cheap , we wanted to eat dinner outside and was told no .. inside is a weird atmosphere at the tables . The bar had a better atmosphere, but we were there with kids ... service was very slow & like I said the food was mediocre. If I could've had my food outside by the bay this dump would've had a 4 or 5 star because to me atmosphere means a lot ! read more

Steamed mussels and steamed clams were good. Wings were dry. Mahi sandwich was fishy. Tasted like bluefish. Went back. Ordered a bacon cheddar burger. Waitress didn't hear bacon. It came over cooked but still juicy. Fries are frozen crinkle cut. Overall it was decent, nothing special. I would not recommend and I wouldn't come back. Hanks Sauce in Sea Isle is much better. Eating at Twisties was a wonderful way to end a beach day for my mom and I. There is street parking or a small parking lot that you can park at (if navigating tight spaces is your thing). Walking up you can either take the steps or walk up along a ramp. Both ways take you to a porch where you have two options. Option one: stand there like a fool and wait for someone to come out and get you. Option two: walk into the door to your right, where there is a hostess stand on the other side. The first time we went we sat outside, and the view was very nice. I was a little disappointed by the lack of vegan/ vegetarian options. However, I opted for the "Southwest Sea Salad" without the shrimp, and it was delicious. The service was very pleasant. The second time we went I got the same thing, but we sat inside. The inside is very cute. You can either sit at the bar which overlooks the bay or sit at one of the tables. The tables are a little close together, but if you're like my mom, and enjoy making new friends, it shouldn't be an issue. There is also a jukebox where you can put music on. Overall, the vibe, location, and staff made the experience very enjoyable! However, if you're looking for lots of vegan/vegetarian options, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

We decided to end our day at the beach by having a family dinner on Sunday August 4, 2019. We had a large party but the wait was minimal since it was around 6 PM. We had a party of 8 and 2 of our family had to leave early to get back to the city. Our waitress was very attentive and quickly place their order in asap. We had some appetizers and drinks and food didn't take long. Dinner was excellent and dinner crowed was showing up as there was a wait. We got our bill and my sister was barely put her fork down when the hostess mentioned that the sunset was really nice and you could see it better from outside. We got the hint but the sunset was just fine from our seats. Kids went to bathroom talked a few when we received another visit from the hostess asking how long we would be. This was boarding on rude and she noted that they had a large party coming in. We also noticed that at the shore there is nothing but large parties for dinner as 2 had already gotten up. We are locals and realize that August is crunch time to make your money but let us enjoy the same places as tourists do. Food was great, hostess put a damper on the experience. I read through some of the reviews of Twisties and it seems some people get this place and some not. It is not fine dining. It's a shore joint. The beer is cold and priced comparatively with summer prices all over the South Jersey beach area. The food is...well pretty good, but you have to find the right dish. Shrimp tacos, really good. Calamari, not so much. Daily fish sandwich special, try it because you will like it. Personally, I won't spend $28 on an entree at Twisties so I can't comment on them. Keep it simple and you won't be disappointed with the food. The vibe is really cool here. It does get crowded but everyone is friendly. It reminds me of a college bar where you just hang out with a drink and talk to whoever is next to you, whether you know them or not. read more

Horrible food and way overpriced. Seriously not sure how you can manage to suck the flavor out of all the food, but they did! We had fried calamari...all fried, no calamari. A fried tuna egg roll kinda thing...it was ok but the wasabi sauce had no flavor at all whatsoever and too fried. Same with the mahi sandwich with cranberry drizzle...no flavor at all, horrible. The only thing that had flavor was their flatbread and was only because they put a jar of that marinated minced garlic on that we still tasted 2 days later. Skip this place. read more

Very nice waterfront bar. Went for lunch and had minimal wait time for service/meals. Very laid back & casual atmosphere. Partner had burger and said very good. I had flatbread, done vegan style and it was very good. My challenge for ordering was the flat bread versus the salad after I saw one go by. Beer very cold! This place was great. There is a beautiful view on to the bay if you go during sunset. The flatbread is okay but the chicken wings, sandwiches and calamari is amazing. Gone there twice already and I know that any time we come to Ocean City we will go there. The waitresses we have had have been great they are super friendly and have always placed our orders in correctly. Overall I would definitely go there and encourage you to go too. read more

I went here with a large group for dinner. The food was just OK. I'm a vegetarian and there were very few options -- basically pizza or a salad, not even a veggie burger. Others seemed to think the food was about average as well. The service was fine. Pretty good menu with good seafood and entrees. Twisted scallops were very good. Venue leaves a lot to be desired. Dining area is basically an open room with tables and a lot of noise. A little effort (carpeting, acoustic tile, replace fluorescent lighting) and this might become a decent restaurant. Unfortunately, more than a couple full tables and the noise is unbearable.
