The Sea Biscuit. Comes with the best fries.
    Mike S.

Twisted Root really caught me off guard and in the best way. When coming to the food trucks I saw their name and figured it was going to a vegetarian or vegan food truck but boy was I wrong. They have meat and seafood!!! I ordered the Sea Biscuit which is a fried shrimp sandwich with a tasty sauce, cole slaw, and fried onions. This sandwich was amazing! One of the best shrimp sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was perfect, the Yum Yum Saucce was delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sandwich also came with fries which were also amazing. They had an amazing seasoning on them and I could eat them all day. Amazing food truck and I can't wait for them to be back.

994TWISTING ROOTS was at Kanine Social and I was hungry. I didn't want bread so I ordered the loaded fries with chicken. The order was over $10 and was a shareable item it was so big. The chicken was generous and the sauce was spicy sweet and nice over the crispy fries. I now have lunch for the next day also.. :)

Twisting Roots is better than Twisted Okie is better than Twisted T's Lol. I got the bikini bottom, which is a shrimp and crawfish sandwich. The ciabatta bun is just the right amount of hardness and stays together really well. The umami of the two shellfish becomes tangled together in the breading, and drenched in sauces, which work well with the veggies too. Delicious. The plantains have a good amount of sweetness and work well as a side.

One of our neighbors got the food truck to come to our neighborhood for dinner time. Food was amazing and having them in our neighborhood was such a great social experience during this covid19 time. Got to meet neighbors and enjoyed great food. Since the sandwiches were served cut in halves, my daughter and I split halves. I had the Bikini Bottom with shrimp, crawfish fried onions and special sauce served with seasoned fries and a can of soda. My daughter got the sea biscuit with shrimp and fried onions and all the fixins. Both sandwiches were amazing! And the price wasn't bad for the large sandwiches, fries and a drink. The Cajun flavors with the crispy fried onions, crawfish and shrimp tasted so good with the buttery toasted bread. Hope they come to our neighborhood again!

Massive menu. Settled on the Twist Roots. The sandwich was filling, but it was quite pricy in my opinion. However it was very flavorful! Sweet plantains were alright - Didn't finish it. Sauce went great with the sandwich and plantains. This lunch set me back $17 minus tip. Ouch.

The Twisting Roots food truck was onsite at Losco Park for a Losco Blue Back 2 School Bash. My wife and I ordered and shared three entrees. Both of us can definitely eat! 1. Pollo En Fire wrap - chicken served with aioli, tomatoes, fried onions, arugula and sauce. This wrap only cost $6 and it came with homemade chips and a drink. Great deal! 2. Pichi Cerdo - sofrito roasted pork with guava glaze topped with fried onions and plantain. 3. Carne de Bourbon - slow roasted skirt steak with a habanera maple glaze topped with fried onions and plantain. The aioli, tomatoes, and arugula were perfect with the sandwiches and wrap. They brought out the great flavors of each meat. Delicious! Each combo deals come with homemade chips and you can upgrade to seasoned fries for an additional $1. I hope I see them again soon because I would like to try their Twisted Roots. A tasty trio of pork, beef, and crispy fried crawfish with savory sweet pineapple glaze with fried onions and plantain. Doesn't that sound good?

Always ready to try a new food truck and this was good stuff. Good flavor combinations and prices. I ordered the Pichi Cerdo - pork, guava glaze, fried onions (canned) and plantains but I didn't taste any plantains at all. Overall a good experience so I would try them again.

Such a disappointing experience. We rarely patron food trucks, but this one was at an event we were attending. We ordered the chicken taco plate, a shrimp taco plate and a side of plaintains. The worker said for $2 more we could make it 2 tacos plus a side. We agreed and paid + tip. We received 1 plate instead of 2. We let the same woman know that this was incorrect, that we ordered 2 plates. She instructed us to wait while she got the 2nd plate. 10 minutes later she called us to the window to say that she did not charge us for the 2nd plate. I assured her she did, and added all the charges for her. She then changed the price from what was listed on the menu board and said that the combo plate was $14. I pointed out to her that was not what her menu says and in fact the #14 did not even appear anywhere on the menu. Another customer behind me also told her the same. We left with our food that now only fed half our party, only to find that we had half cooked fries and undercooked plantains. The buzz at the event amongst the crowd was how deceitful these Twisted Roots staff were and everyone saying they felt cheated by them.

We came in on a Wednesday evening. We asked about the menu and were told at the counter that it was Wing Wednesday and the wings were $1 each. Well how could we not add those onto our order. We ordered a Burnt Ends platter with mac and cheese, and corn nuggets, a Brisket Platter with corn nuggets and beans. We also ordered a large mac for my son and a side of lean brisket. For the wings we ordered the Cajun ranch. Our food started coming out in about 5 minutes. Firstly, I was shocked at the wings. I love wings, but they aren't something I usually order often as I find them just OK. There are only a couple places that I visit specifically for wings. Well, let me tell you, I would make a visit back just for these wings. OMG, the Cajun ranch was simply amazing, really addictive. They were my favorite item. We devoured them. The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

Do love that pretty much every entree comes with Lumpia but that of course makes sense when you're at the Lumpia Lady. I also asked to add on a Pork Skewer but they were sold which was a bummer but hey should have come earlier. Now the told with tax was $23.50 with tax as well as I tipped so it was a little pricy. After about 10 minutes by food was ready and first thing I noticed this was a heavy bag. Once home I opened the box and it was loaded with food. I will say the first thing I noticed was the shrimp were fried and in every picture I had seen the were grilled which I could see being an issue for some but not for me. The Limpia were fresh and crispy even after being in the box on top of the Pancit. Honestly I understand why they sell the Lumpia in such big sizes here cause you can throw them back. I will say the chicken could have been a little more spiced but still good. I really enjoyed the Pancit and did I mention already that the box was full of it? Great job! Honestly I never normally do this but I was actually able to make 2 menus out of it which is crazy for me. I will for sure come back to the Lumpia Lady and you will not leave hungry.

Dorami Food Truck Experience -- 7:49 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026…read more I was genuinely excited to see Dorami listed in my neighborhood the day before and made an effort to stop by, even knowing I might be cutting it close to closing time. As I drove into the Bartram clubhouse parking lot, I was happy to see the truck still there. The service window was open, and there were no visible signs indicating that you were closed. I walked up, took a moment to look over the menu, and was ready to place a fairly large order. Unfortunately, before I could say a word, I was abruptly waved away by a staff member who told me they were closed--in a tone that came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. I completely understand that closing time is closing time, and there may have been circumstances I wasn't aware of. However, customer service doesn't end the moment service stops. A brief, courteous explanation or even a simple apology would have made a big difference in how that interaction felt. I came ready and excited to support your business, but instead left without food and with a very negative impression. As a military veteran who has spent time in Okinawa, I have a deep appreciation for food that brings back meaningful memories, and I make a point to support businesses that offer that connection. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Great food is only part of the experience--how customers are treated, even in brief interactions, leaves a lasting impression. Thank you for your time.

I opted for beef bulgogi and it came with rice, a fried dumpling, japchae, kimchi, pickled veggies, Korean rolled egg, bean sprouts, and a couple of other sides. The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging. It's a bit pricey at $20 for what you get or for comparable options, which are within the $15-17 range.

Whether they were small versions of actual vehicles in production, or crazy dragsters or monster themed or anything else the wizards at Mattel could come up with, I wanted them all. You know what I didn't really want or collect as a kid? Trucks. Sorry Tonka. But I just didn't care about dump trucks or bulldozers or big rigs. And you know what, I kind of felt that way as an adult about food trucks. I mean, to me they were fine, but like my penchant for hot wheels in the past, I'd rather go to a sit down restaurant. Yeah, well Taste of Korea has me rethinking my food truck aversion! Located in a pretty ordinary parking lot on Beach Blvd, this is definitely a little food truck that can deliver some fantastic food! The guy taking orders is super friendly and patient as a noob like me tried to figure out what to order. Ultimately went with the Premium Doshirak, the bibimbap and the kimbap. For both the doshirak and the bibimbap I got the bulgogi beef for the protein. On the kimbap I tried the ham. All were excellent. The Doshirak is a cool box filled with banchan - small side dishes, and cooked rice. The banchan include Kimche, Japchae, fried dumplings and some cool desserts. The blogs is excellent and all of the banchan tasted great. I thought the eggplant was a little mushy but the flavor was still really good. Bibimbap flavor was excellent as well. The only downside is that the rice at the bottom doesn't get all crunchy from being cooked at the bottom of the hot bowl. But it was a minor issue to me. And the kimbap was super fresh. The ham wasn't overpowering and it was a nice change from getting role bulgogi in the kimbap as well. The only wish I have is more variation on the proteins for the dishes we got. But the food is super tasty and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and well, anything else on the menu. Maybe I'll bring a matchbox car or two to help pass the time while waiting for the food!

Yes, I'm talking about eating at the food truck called On the Fly. Calling it a food truck is in this number, I'm not sure what you would call. It is fabulous. Now let's start off with the negatives, parking is not as easy as it is for most lunch places, but it's really not that bad if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of slots on the street before you get to the restaurant, and if you called ahead and are just picking up then you can park in the reserve lot, where On the Fly is located. Now these spaces are reserved for lawyers going to the courthouse, which is nearby. So you can't park there here all day, but if you're just stopping in for lunch or if you've called ahead or just picking up takeout, then you should be fine. If you're in someone's spot, the first place to look is the restaurant, so just know you may have to move fairly quickly. For me, I like to call in advance, place my order, and then Park in one of the spaces. Then I pick up my food and go and I'm only there for five minutes. Now that that's all out of the way, let's talk about some of the best food that you will have in Jaxonville. On the Fly sauce - I think this is made by a team of leprechauns they keep in the back of the food truck. Because it comes out so fresh, so delicious, and if they sold it by the gallon, I would be numero Uno in buying it. Blue chips - a great starter chips and blue cheese, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Firecracker Sesame seared Tuna - another solid performer, it has some kick to it, although the tuna is always perfectly cooked. Sweet and spicy quesadilla - oh my God, this dishes as close to heaven as I think I will ever get to. The chicken is so tender and put into a tortilla with caramelized onions, banana peppers, and covered in On the Fly sauce. I don't know how but this works so well you cannot imagine.
