Had to replace on our trip. Oil change and check up - supposedly checked tire pressure. Again on the trip following that, we stopped to check on a lug nut cover. They saw the passenger front tire had threads showing. So we had to spend 2 extra nights, Friday till Monday. Had to order the tires. De-winterize- couldn't figure out why no hot water. Again on a trip. Had to call them, they forgot to reopen the bypass valve on the water heater. Very unprofessional and they have high prices. Would not recommend them.

Not only did Amy and Annie do everything possible to get me in and out before my ETD, they were both warm and funny and authentically welcoming. Ari and his team are knowledgeable, skillful, and compassionate. While handling my tune up they found and resolved many issues for me, and alerted me to additional issues that might wait until after I return. Ari took the time to go over in detail, with both photos and drawings, everything that they discovered, and how they fixed the most pressing problems. They even popped my rear bumper back into shape where someone had caught the edge. Ari was keenly present and patient while reporting his findings. He answered all my questions and made helpful suggestions regarding what might be the next priortiy to address when I am ready. I walked away smiling, feeling like I received so much for a super reasonable final bill. I am beyond impressed. Little did i know that Ari thoroughly ripped me off. He initially told me via text that my bill for the work would be $1100 plus tax but when i arrived to collect my vehicle, the price was more: $1587.51 Ari explained that my van needed new software for the electric engine and of course Chryslar charged for the software but having called the dealership after, I learned that Chryslar didn't charge anything for new software, Ari charged me $495 for software and charged me for labor (an hour) which normally takes 15-20 seconds to upload. He told me that he had to replace the electrical harness to replace the broken hood latch switch. If I had the foresight to order the hood light switch on Amazon, it would have cost $35.00, Ari charged me $225.00 for this item. After paying for service, I noticed that even though supposedly doing a overall performance check, ($75) they didn't bother to air up one of my tires, leaving me in a lurch and having to get it done somewhere else. At the performance review, Ari explained the repairs still needed on my vehicle, these included two new tires, a tuneup, allignment, replacing the spark plugs and other maintenance stuff. Of course, Ari and his technicians could do all of these repairs. He said that spark plugs would cost $400. When I looked them up on Amazon, they were priced at $99.00. I won't take him up on his offer to do the work on my vehicle. Thank goodness, I didn't make another appointment with Ari! Don't read any of the positive reviews, they were written by owner Ari. If you notice, the positive reviews are only a paragraph in length, whereas the negative ones are longer to include all of the complaints. I noticed advertisements for Master Tech in our local newspaper. How many mechanics need to advertise their services? Only the ones that have alienated previous clients, only the ones that are beginning to see their over charging finally costing them their reputations. Santa Fe is a "word of mouth" town, Ari 's karma is finally catching up to him and unfortunately, to the rest of the technicians that work at his garage. I told my friend that he needs to find another job. Even though I had to pay through the teeth, and I felt like I had been scammed, the garage fixed my car. It really was a win/win.

After a long trip from Boston to Albuquerque, I needed to get a couple things fixed on our LR4…read more(which the dealership in Hanover, MA had never been able to diagnose and fix after multiple visits). I paid a quick visit to the dealership in Albuquerque and after a pretty cold welcome there decided to check out the one in Santa Fe, slightly out of the way but it is not a real inconvenience. I was welcome there by Eric Trowbridge, director of the service department, and even though he was having a busy week (4th of July) he took the time to listen to my concerns. We made an appointment for the following Monday. Him and his team approached the diagnostic step by step and were able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with my vehicle (I was informed that it would be a few days to get everything sorted out - which was not a problem as I had been provided with a LR loaner vehicle, once again thank you for not putting me in a rental car - and also informed daily of what steps were taken). Once I picked up my car, not only had they fixed everything that needed to be fixed they also had left it pristine (very different than the dirty footprints left everywhere after each visit in Hanover, MA). Today, I went there to get new rims and tires installed and they took the time to adjust the alignment without charging me for it. The tires had arrived more than a week prior and they stored them for free. They also handled the reception of my rims coming from the UK without asking a question. As I arrived there this morning (late), the tires were mounted on the rims and ready to be installed. They did a perfect job and put my old set of wheels in my trunk while complementing me on my vehicle. Let's not forget the delightful Patricia working the front desk. All I can say is that this is exactly the type of customer service that I expect from a luxury brand such as Land Rover and the Santa Fe dealership should be THE model to flow for all others around the country. The vehicle is beautiful, and I was prepared to discuss purchasing it and arranging everything from Georgia. What immediately turned me off was being told that I would need to put $5,000 to $10,000 down. I found that extremely off-putting. At the time this was communicated to me, I had not received financing terms from a bank showing that a lender required me to put $5,000 or $10,000 down. If a lender reviews my credit and says a certain amount is required for approval, that's one thing. But I don't appreciate a salesperson presenting such a large down payment as though that is simply what I need to bring to purchase the vehicle. I have purchased and financed vehicles before, and I expect the actual lender to determine the financing requirements based on my application, the vehicle, and the amount being financed. Being an out-of-state buyer should not mean I automatically need to hand over $5,000 to $10,000 of my money upfront. If there is a specific dealership policy for out-of-state customers, that should be clearly disclosed and explained. The vehicle itself may be beautiful, but this interaction completely changed my interest in doing business here. I would recommend that prospective buyers ask upfront whether the dealership has its own minimum down-payment requirements and get all financing terms in writing before proceeding.

The previous shop I went to told me I needed to replace my front suspension and a few other things. Ron at Santa Fe Auto Tec did not charge me for a second opinion. He found that my suspension looked fine, and the clunking was from a loose CV axle nut. He tightened the nut and the clunking sound was gone. I paid what I feel is a reasonable price for 1 hour of labor - much better than what I would have paid to replace my suspension at the other shop, which would not have even solved my problem! It can be hard to find a trustworthy car mechanic but it seems to me that there are some good ones here. I would definitely recommend this shop.

So I declined the service and took the car for a second opinion-- with the service report in hand -- to Santa Fe Auto Tec, which was highly recommended by a neighbor I respect. Ron put my car on a lift and spent a lot of time going over each item on the report. He called called me with the verdict. "Your car is in perfect shape. There is absolutely nothing at all that needs to be fixed. The report from Toyota of Santa Fe is bogus and I've seen this happen before." After all the time and attention Rob spent on my car, he charged me nothing. I am thrilled to give him my business now and feel relieved to have found a Toyota specialist I can trust.
