The food has never WOW'ed me, but it's good. The ambiance is nice, and is one of the only fine dining restaurants in the area for american / european cuisine. Most people know this place for their cooking classes. I hear they are great classes. I'm hoping to try it out one day. Service is decent. I recently had their soup and the tuna tartare. The portions are pretty small for "American's" standards, but they make up for this with their tastey foods. I never go out of my way to come here, but many of my colleagues love it and always recommend this place for lunch, so I have to tag along. read more

We debated the options during our entire workout and finally settled on Two Chefs, which I had been to several times years back. The location is off putting considering what it is on the inside. This remains a first-class classic Miami fine eating experience -- in the mode of Chef Allen's, Norman's, North 110 and many other top restaurants now closed. Four of us were there last week enjoying the Miami Spice menu. The food was excellent overall. The selections for Miami Spice is one of the largest I've seen. Waiters were gracious & helpful. If there is anything I can recommend for improvement, it would be to provide each table with a brighter candle as it was extremely difficult to read the menu. This has long been a favorite dining spot for me since the food never disappoints. This time we had the Miami Spice menu and the food was truly memorable and the dining experience outstanding. I attended a bridal shower here and they did a fantastic job! The management was extremely accommodating to our needs, the service was great, the food was delicious, and everyone had a wonderful time. The tuna tartare and crab cakes were my favorite appetizer, I had a really good salmon for my entree, and the chocolate soufflé for dessert was incredible. I have been in Pinecrest for many years. Hands down this is the classiest restaurant in the area. It is fine adult dining at it's best, great food and great service. The adult atmosphere is welcoming, but it's always a welcoming sight to see families and parents bringing their children in for a shirley temple and a soufflé. Possibly the worst dining experience ever! That's how I would describe last night at Two Chefs. It started out with a warm greeting from the hostess who sat us immediately. We then ordered cocktails, a Bloody Mary and a Grey Goose Martini. It took at least 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and when they did the Bloody Mary was warm. A request for a glass of ice went unheeded for another 10 to 15 minutes. We ordered Tuna tartar appetizer and Shrimp cocktail. The tuna arrived as an unattractive lump on a plate and the shrimp was warm. We shared an entree of Branzini which was the smallest dryest piece of fish I've ever received. When ordering dinner we also ordered a Pistachio soufflé in advance knowing it takes a while to prepare. But sure enough we ended up waiting an additional 45 minutes after dinner waiting for the soufflé. We were also served Luke warm coffee which when ordered we requested extra hot. We also asked for the cream to be warmed and were told they can't do that. Which brings me to the server. He was incompetent and rude. Not what I remembered it to be. I had this restaurant cater a private home party and I had not been back to the restaurant since then. So, I decided to give it another try. I was very disappointed as it was a Thursday and not even a weekend. Place was not busy, at all. We were seated for half an hour before we were approached by our server and asked if we wanted a drink, I asked for a dirty martini (it wasn't dirty) BF asked for Michelob Ulra, which they didn't have. Needless to say to get the actual drinks took another 20 minutes to receive (reminder it was a Thursday night, not busy at all).and the, server was was dry and serious. Now for the dinner, which as well, took a very long time was greasy (steak and scallop dinner), and Tuna was dry and over-cooked. We went during Miami Spice and even though the waiter was aware of what we were ordering out of the Miami Spice menu, we received a bill for both the Miami Spice menu selection and the regular price!!! We got billed more than $100.00 extra, good thing we noticed!!! And to top it all off the drinks were from $12.00 to $17.00 with a house wine to boot, not even a selected wine. The Michelob Light was charged as a Stella Artois. There is also a homeless fee charge on the bill, which I haven't seen any restaurant charge. This is a restaurant on a strip mall not a fancy - schmancy place. Drinks should not cost this much. Neither should the food. Sadly, I will not go back to this restaurant and guess I will travel farther North for a better place to eat with better service. read more

I was looking forward to trying a new local restaurant specially since I had a couple of recommendations from friends. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the service, the food, and the owner. I went there for lunch and the place filled up quickly. There were only two waiters and a busboy to wait on the entire restaurant. As much as they tried to be efficient it was very hard for them to do things in a timely fashion. It took 10 minutes for water, 20 to get bread and have our orders taken. When the meatball appetizer arrived it was cold. The shrimp fettuccine, salmon sandwich, and chicken risotto were all bland and less than average in taste. By the time we were done with it I just wanted to get the check and leave but we had already had ordered desserts. In the meantime I asked for water which I didn't get until another ten minutes later. I couldn't get mad at the servers knowing they were doing the best they could do. What really disappointed me was seeing the owner at the bar not taking care of his customers. He was just there chit chatting. So sad that after receiving recognition you come to the point of not truly caring of your workers and the satisfaction of customers coming to try your restaurant. This is the last and final time I ever come here. We come in at 2:00pm for lunch. We don't get greeted at the door and have to wait to be seated. Not even 2 minutes sitting down the waiter comes and tells my wife and I " we have run out of several items on the menu and order fast because we're closing" WTF?! Went for the Miami Spice menu last night with my husband and another couple. I'm giving them two stars cause the drink at the bar was nice and the soufflé was delicious. Unfortunately, there was a dead fly on my napkin, a roach crawled up the wall by our table while we were eating, the waiter did not bring us more bread even though we reminded him we would like some more three times and the restrooms were filthy. I hadn't been to Two Chef's in about a year and after tonight they wont be seeing me again. I guess that the chef has no idea that a Caesar salad has to have Caesar dressing and not a vinaigrette dressing. I must say, this restaurant has delicious food! I started with the escargot appetizer they make, forgot the name of it, but it was something different and oh so tasty! We also tried the flat bread with pork belly, oh my god, wat a yummy dish! I know you're thinking anything with pork belly is yummy, but this you gotta try! The portions in this place are pretty big, so I ended up taking my dinner entree home so I could try the grand marnier souffle for dessert, and it was worth every calorie :) love this place! Two Chefs is a good restaurant, but service can be uneven. I have been there when service has been great and other nights where we've been ignored. The food is usually pretty good. I enjoy the coq au vin and the soups mostly. One night we ordered a flatbread appetizer and waited and waited. We finally asked the waiter about it and he checked. he came back and said that the chef had burned the flatbread and had to start over. our waiter was spending all his time taking care of another table that had ordered several bottles of wine and were running up a big tab. To his credit, he offered us a free dessert to compensate. Also, the place has tile floors and gets very noisy when the restaurant is busy. read more

BTW this is my review in help. From now on I promise I will rave or wag my finger at any restaurant I go! I took some relatives last night to two chefs based on my previous experience. I was beyond disappointed at the service. It is slow and rude. I ordered two tenderloins for my aunts and instead they brought New York's. Waiter claimed I ordered New York and that regardless they don't sell tenderloin!!!! What was I to do? Wait another hour for a replacement??? Baked onion soup was too spicy. Steaks were drenched also in some awful spicy sauce. The meat quality was good. The chicken I ordered was good and so was my wife's salmon. It is a shame how bad service can make a good food taste like crap. I assume the owners could care less. The dim lighting is a nice touch. Souffle they have are delicious!!!! read more

However, my greatest complaint is that they offer plates on the Miami Spice menu that they charge a fixed menu price or at least they should point this out to you before you order. They also charge a 1% "Homeless Tax" that I've never seen at any other restaurant and when we asked about it they brushed it off as standard practice. read more
