First time in NOLA and so glad my friend and I booked this tour. We came in December and the weather was nippy and Karen, our tour guide, was very aware of how cold we were. She made sure we were as comfortable as possible. We booked the evening tour, covering madames and brothels. It was a fun tour, Karen was very knowledgeable and passionate about the topics we covered and we walked a decent part of French Quarter. She didn't try to sell us anything and she didn't take us anywhere that we were pressured to buy or purchase anything. Staff were awesome, saw a lot, tour ends in a different area, be aware of that. Sidewalks are very uneven, many trip hazards. No access into cemetary. Lots of places to eat and shop. read more

I cannot recommend the Garden District tour enough. We had so much fun listening to her and seeing the beautiful houses. The cemetery was closed unfortunately still from Covid, but we still got to hear history and get pics at the gate. I wish we'd used them for more tours. Highly recommend!! read more

My family and I did the French Quarter tour and we really enjoyed it. It's basically a history lesson that's not boring. It did rain but our tour guide brought extra ponchos. Our tour guide was Ren and he was great. He shared great information, took us to a bar and candy shop, was super friendly and fun. He shared a really cool Mafia story that we all loved. He also told us the story of Delphine LaLaurie's haunted house. Those were my favorite parts. I would suggests this tour to anyone who's looking to learn the history of NOLA. I have been walking through the Garden District so many times on my own. Never took a tour before. I'm so glad I did with Deanna. I learned so many new things. We loved our walking tour of the Garden District with Karen! She was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and houses. She connected the history of the area to other parts of the city we had seen and people/events we might know of. She was incredibly considerate of the stroller in our group making sure to point out tricky spots in the sidewalk and leading us to walk in smoother areas. Christine from Two Chicks Walking was our guide. Her presentation was informative, interesting and exciting. I just wanted to learn more. The pace was casual and laid back-no rushing from spot to spot. Our group size was intimate allowing us to easily hear what she was saying and we had the opportunity to ask questions. Christine's speaking style is very comfortable, not the rapid fire speech of other tour guides. We did the tour in the morning, there was a comfort stop for water and bathroom break. Unfortunately, we were unable to go into the Lafayette Cemetery as the city has now prohibited that. Not a biggie for us, as I had been in it before. The price was worth every penny. I would do this tour again. Incidentally, we had to rebook this tour as there was a hurricane 2 days prior. Two Chicks Walking easily accommodate the change and I really appreciated that flexibility. read more

Garden District Tour with Deanna on 4/20/23. Tour starts at PJ's Coffee which is directly across the street from the Hop On Hop Off Tour bus Stop #12. I've taken a few different tours in different American cities and Deanna was one of my favs. Very knowledgeable, very personable and very entertaining. She pointed out architectural details, relayed anecdotes about various celebrities who lived there and discussed environmental issues ranging from Katrina and Ida to how plants affect the local water tables. You could just walk around and enjoy the beautiful trees and houses but I always like having some expert information about what I'm actually looking at along with some background information on the area. read more

I had the pleasure to visit New Orleans a couple of weeks ago. I was still unsure of which tour I should get, but I couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. DeAnna was my tour guide while we explored the Garden District. She was amazing even before the tour started; very kind and attentive. DeAnna loves that area; she knows every corner of every house, and it was beautiful to learn more about New Orleans with someone born there. I appreciate how much she shared her lifetime and family history, too! Many people can tell you a story, but not many of them lived through it like she did. We took the Saint Louis Cemetery No.1 tour with Mike. It was a great tour he had a lot of awesome stories and was friendly. The only thing I would offer up is after he starts his story about the tomb we are at is that he should step to the side while giving us the information. I had the pleasure of taking two Two Chicks Walking tours on my last visit to New Orleans, and Karen was my guide both times! Karen is a native New Orleanian and her passion for her city and its fascinating history, as well as sharing it with others, are so apparent. This was not my first time to New Orleans nor my first walking tour in the city, but I learned plenty of new things from Karen. Some of my previous tours have felt a little cheesy, not in a bad way, but Karen's tours were not that way at all. She also was able to answer so many of the random questions from both me and the others on the tour. He was so informative, lively (no pun intended), and very professional. There is no doubt in my mind we could have listened to him all day! From the way it was set up (we were attempting a night tour) and the follow through, everything was smooth sailing, which is hard to do with a big group on a time crunch. My husband and I did the Garden District tour on the Sunday before Mardi Gras. Two Chicks was recommended by our friends who visited a month earlier. We booked fairly last minute so I couldn't request a particular tour guide, but luckily we got the same guide they had, Loki. The Garden District makes for a perfect walking tour with all the interesting architecture and storied history. Loki lives and breathes this area, and it shows with his tour. He was so animated (but not silly) and engaging. I also liked that he was direct and didn't sugar coat anything when speaking about this area and answering questions. At the end of the tour, Loki pointed us towards a great restaurant, Gris Gris, where we got cocktails and gumbo, perfect for a freezing cold day. read more

Two Chicks makes walking tours fun! We recently took the garden district/Lafayette Cemetery tour. Booking was super simple via the website. They send you a confirmation email immediately, as well as a text the day of the tour. Our tour guide (Ren) was fantastic. He was engaging and made the two hours fly by, while also throwing in a coffee break at the one hour mark. The tours include a bit of history, as well as some odds and ends facts you may have never known about the area you are visiting. I also feel like I know almost everything there is to know about NOLA cemeteries after this tour. I can't wait to take another one of these tours the next time I'm in town. read more
