We stopped in around 2pm on a Saturday to try this place out. Our first impression was that the place was not very clean... trash and food bits were scattered all over the floor and the trash can was overflowing (this seemed odd, especially being well after lunch time). We placed our order on the countertop kiosk and found a table to sit and wait for the food. The table was also very dirty and sticky; I wiped it with a napkin just so we could use it. We received our food fairly quickly. It was really tasty, and neat to be able to choose different combinations of fillings (e.g., cheese and sausage) and toppings. The kimchi fries were tasty as well. This place is clearly trying to capitalize on this current fad of Korean-style corn dogs: the decor/lighting as well as the presentation of the food is meant to be "Instagrammable". However, the cleanliness of the place really cancels that out for me. Also, the food is very pricey for what you get. I am glad we tried it to see what all the fuss was about, but seeing the cleanliness standards made me wonder how clean they keep the kitchen. We probably won't be back.

One thing I really love is their rewards program in the app. I've received several perks over time, from free shakes during their business anniversary celebration to a birthday treat. I even randomly received a free entrée coupon and used it toward the Sunrise Burger. It was delicious! It comes with two patties, so I ended up sharing it with my husband since I'm more of a one patty girl myself. Saving money while still enjoying a good meal is always a win, and I really appreciate how they reward loyal customers in this way. I've dined inside a few times and have never had any issues. They have a family friendly ambiance, and during the holidays they decorate like during Christmas with trees and holiday lighting. There's plenty of seating available, including outdoor seating, which is really nice when the weather is good. Their kids meal is also a solid option. It comes with a single hamburger, fries, a drink, and a cookie, and the cookie is actually really good. Their shakes are definitely worth mentioning too. My favorites are the Cookies & Cream and Banana Split shakes, but honestly, the other flavors I've tried have been tasty as well.

I was with friends and one never had steak'n shake and the other one was like me...it had been a while. I didn't realize that you have to order on a kiosk, no one said anything. I decided to sign up for rewards (something I always check for before ordering) so I downloaded the app and ordered from there. My friends used the kiosk, it seemed user friendly, but it would have been nice for anyone to speak to us. Ordering on the app wasn't bad, it said my food would be ready in 4-9 minutes. My friends got their food very quickly. Their food was nice and hot. We didn't realize that getting your drink after ordering from the kiosk, you have to get your receipt and use the QR code to scan at the machine to receive your cup, some direction on that would have been nice. As for my food, about 20 minutes passed and I still didn't hear anything. The app doesn't have a tracker, but I made sure I ordered it at the right location and for pick up which it was all correct. I had to go to the counter, got a man's attention that was working, and he asked for my name. He then went to the back and I heard them talking. Several minutes later, a lady came out with my food and drink. I asked if it had been ready and she said yes, so I asked how was I supposed to know and she just shrugged her shoulders not saying anything. I was very upset, but so hungry. I told her how my food would now be cold and she just walked away. I went to the counter to get ketchup and she appeared behind that counter saying I'm sorry. As for customer service I would give 0 stars if I could. Of course my food was cold. I ordered the garlic single steak burger combo, it tasted ok, but I was starving. My fries tasted old and were not fresh. I wasn't satisfied. I noticed after signing up for rewards I received a free milkshake offer. They also sent a survey to my email (of course I filled it out) and for completing it, you get free fries. These will come in handy, probably for my kids. The ambiance remains the same as I remember from a long time ago, classic dinner vibes with black/white tiles, and retro themed red/black booths and tables.

Their iced tea is great and it's self serve so you can have all that you want and take a cup home too. Those sandwiches are simple but flavorful and they offer 7 sides including chips Mac and cheese and others. Food came out quickly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The girl at the counter was helpful and patient as we figured out what we needed to do and just made it a great experience. The person that brought our food to us was very friendly and asked if we needed anything else.

She ordered the Pecan Berry Salad with half a French Dip sandwich. I ordered the Classic Grilled Chicken on a Croissant with a cup of Broccoli Cheddar soup. I also got a Mardi Gras cookie which is basically a snickerdoodle with a cream cheese filling. That cookie was just okay. She loved her salad. I didn't know they had a French Dip sandwich and she didn't know their grilled chicken had no herb flavoring/seasoning, so we traded sandwiches. I really loved the French Dip sandwich and now have a new favorite. She says most grilled chicken has too much of a herb flavor but not so with McAlister's. So now she has a new favorite too. The restrooms were clean and stocked. Parking spaces were plentiful.
