He enjoyed the spicy fries I shared with him but still happily ate his regular fries as well. One thing I appreciate is that they offer free water, which is a nice way to save a little money on drinks. Since it was a gloomy, chilly day, we decided to dine inside. There was a good amount of seating available, including both booths and tables. When dining in, you're given a number, and the staff brings your food directly to your table. Service was good, and our food came out quickly. I used one of the weekly reward codes and received a free cheeseburger after spending $10, making the visit an even better value. Parking at this location is convenient. There's a shared public lot off New York Street behind Java House that offers free parking for up to two hours. After that, or if the lot is full, metered street parking is also available.

The order of onion rings consisted of 5 rings of varying size. That was a bit disappointing...but I digress. When we arrived, there were a few vagrants at the door holding it open for patrons, surely in hopes that someone might tip them on their way out. We proceeded to the counter marked for take-out orders. We were, almost immediately, approached by a woman who directed us to the "new" take-out counter. She explained to us that the location of the area previously used for take-out orders caused congestion in the entryway. We sat near the correct take-out counter, quietly, and waited for the app to let us know when our order was ready for pick-up. Another woman, working that counter, diligently assisted multiple customers with their orders and then she addressed us after seeing that we'd been sitting there for a while. The app didn't say that the order was ready, but she checked and it was. I asked about the extra Frisco Sauce that we'd requested, and she assured us that it was there and gave us a strip of paper with a QR code for the drink fountain. The fountain area was somewhat of a mess, being that it is self-serve and people are messy. Someone approached us wanting to use our codes. Having already used them, we told her that we didn't know if they would still work. She proceeded to help herself, immediately after us, and was able to pour herself soda in drink cups that she'd already acquired. I don't know if that is theft of beverages, but we were not involved! The extra sauce that we paid for was, in fact, not present. We approached the takeout counter and requested them. With sauce acquired, we braved the doorway and kept our heads down as we exited, so not to be accosted by the people acting as unofficial doormen and made our way back to our room across the street.
