French Onion Soup

I have been going to 2 Penguins over the past five years. Overall 2 Penguins has good food and service. I love that it can easily accommodate a large group and has a great large selection of local beers. They sort the beers by category on the menu so it is easy to pick what you want. The service too, has always been solid and the servers are friendly. The food selection has everything from appetizers to entrees depending on what you are in the mood for. I especially like the chicken bites, really crispy chicken with delicious dipping sauces. The burgers and green chile also are some of my favorites there. I feel like the prices of their beers though have gone up so much in the past few years, even the tasters are very expensive. Still, a good local restaurant to try out if you are in the area.

SANTORINI STEAK SALAD

The Santorini steak salad was so good!! Claire was our server and she was great! Very attentive, friendly and personable. We loved the outdoor patio and Claire had set up corn hole for us which was fun. We will definitely be back!! The beer selection was also made up of Colorado beers which made it even better!

Stopped in because of the live music (Gregg Green). Pleasantly surprised. Menu looks fantastic with lots of yummy choices. We sat by the kitchen and watched all the food coming out. It all looked so good. Started with the Spinach dip and the French onion soup. Not a drinker but over 30 beer taps and a full bar. Spinach dip very creamy with a hint of jalapeño. Served with Pita. Though this was filling, we had to order the fried chicken. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes. Good choice. Crispy, but juicy. Available in Nashville Hot (but we chose the regular). Served with coleslaw and blueberry-cornbread muffins. Yum!! We'll be back next time we're in the hood. Soup served piping hot. Lots of onion. Just the right amount of cheese (no big globs of chewy yuck).

Wings!

I can see why people like it here. Chill atmosphere and an excellent tap list. Service is friendly and the food is pretty good. Hubs and I shared the wings with classic buffalo and the Chef Alan's Nacho burger with tots. Both were solid choices. I found the wings to be a bit chewy, but we certainly cleaned the plate! I didn't care for the ranch or bleu cheese dressings. Not much flavor there. The burger was sloppy and pretty tasty. The patty was a bit small and it was definitely difficult to share (not their fault, obviously!) but we managed. The burger certainly has a kick! I would have liked a little more avocado (hard to find it in there) but it had basically an entire roasted jalapeno on top and the queso was spicy. Overall, I'd order this burger again. If we are back in the area, I think we'd return.

We come here quite often with our daughtersl's family and with our best friends when they visit. There is a wide selection of local beers. The kids' menu is nice and the regular menu has something for everyone. I really enjoy their salads- especially the Power Salad. I also enjoy the pulled pork sandwich and the fish and chips. The service is always great and the food is always well prepared. There is plenty of seating. Don't let a full parking lot fool you! They also have an event room. We have never waited for a seat.

Mediterranean Panini

My boyfriend and I moved to the area somewhat recently, and everyday we pass this restaurant. We finally decided to give a try and we are so glad we did!!! From the selection of beers to the selection of menu items, you can find something perfect for you. I had a side salad that was delicious , and a Mediterranean Panini that was absolutely amazing! There are deals everyday on menu items, which means you can become a regular with a deal that works best for you and return every week! The service was outstanding, our server was absolutely awesome! Super attentive and ready to help. The general vibe of the restaurant is pretty low-key, but if you wanted , you could dress up (somewhat) and still fit in. Amazing place, and we will be returning!

I hadn't been to Two Penguins in a while so we decided to give it another try. I had also been to a large wedding rehearsal dinner there and it was good. They have a great patio area as well as private venue areas. So we missed happy hour by a few minutes, but they do have specials each weekday. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was really good - juicy and flavorful. The barbecued pulled pork, on the other hand, was overcooked, tough and chewy. The sauce on it was good, as was the cole slaw, but I sent it back and ordered the steak sandwich. I'm so glad I did! The pieces of steak were tender and flavorful and I really enjoyed it. I also tried the Tangerine Whip Cider- which I'll be looking for to buy for home. The restaurant was very loud and could use some basic maintenance (peeling wall murals) but clean. Our server, Carly, was a standout. She was friendly and helpful and very sweet. She turned a tough situation (sending back food) into an ok moment and never made me feel bad. 5 stars for Carly! I'd love to try their happy hour so I will be back

Came here for a late lunch in the middle of the week with a co-worker-- both our first time trying this place. We were seated immediately and instantly greeted by our server (Dan). He was super friendly, courteous of timing and provided exceptional service. After struggling between a few menu options (everything sounded so good), I decided on the Crispy Thai Chicken Salad-- It was absolutely AMAZING. The size was plenty full & the flavors were great. Amazing service & tasty food. Great experience over all-- will definitely be back.

Back at it again! I love this restaurant and try to make it a new experience every time. I love the fried chicken sandwich and it is really hard not to get it when I come here. But the salad was delicious and different! The Mac and cheese is always a go to. Tried a new sandwich and it had a nice spice to it, and was stuffed with filling and meats. The beer selection is immaculate with all Colorado brewed.

Do you have HH on food and drinks?

Yes, happy hour discounts on both from 3-6pm weekdays. Hope to see you then.

Can I bring my friend who is 20? Do you guys stop allowing under age at a certain time?

We are a family friendly restaurant and all ages are welcome. With that being said, if we believe someone underage is consuming alcohol the entire party will need to pay the bill and leave, not just the person under age. We have a ZERO tolerance…

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes, polite dogs are welcome. Please have one member of your party check in with the staff inside and walk the dog around the west side to the patio as they may not come through the restaurant. My dog Barney says "come on in". We are open 6…

Can you accommodate gluten-free/friendly?

Yes, plenty of options. Thank you for your interest.

Are dogs allowed in patio?

We aplogize but due to this unusual situation we are not allowing dogs for the moment. We hope to be able to change this soon and will find a way to allow our furry friends again as soon as possible.

Do you have trivia?

Hi Kendra, yes we do. Geeks who Drink every Tuesday night 7pm to 9 pm. Hope you will check it out.

The fried cheese is very different from your other standard cheeses or mozzarella sticks. The cheese is much more firm with a light fry. The cup of bacon is fatty, salty, with a tiny bit of sweetness. The ricotta gnocchi bolognese has some amazing fresh gnocchi. The bolognese sauce was okay so it's a fine dish but I probably wouldn't get it again. The duck poutine has delicious fresh fries that end up crisp topped with tons of cheese and gravy. I went solo and decided to sit at the bar where they had three bartenders that would rotate with all the customers making it very efficient and great coverage. The food was very inventive; not your typical fare even for a bistro. I started with the lobster tater tots that were served with ranch. He had the perfect amount of seafood flavor and a super crispy outer; I would recommend. Next, I had the ginger pork and crispy rice dish. This had a large helping of pork that did well with the Asian flavors and that crispy rice for texture; I would recommend. My final was the miso butterscotch tart. You can't go wrong with a dessert that has butterscotch, Biscoff, marshmallow and miso. The only criticism I could make was that the tart was pretty loose, but that did not take away from the flavor. To drink this place has lots of beer taps, a good selection of wine and plenty of interesting cocktails. I chose to have a couple beers and they were both very tasty. I would like to come back with additional people so that we could try more of the menu items. Unfortunately, it is an hour away from where I live, but the next time I find myself down in the springs, I will return.

I had eggs benedict which was ok, and a bloody mary that really hit the spot. It had just the right spice and the bartender asked me how spicy I wanted it - it was perfect! So I don't want the review to seem dated, but I think it's current enough based on our experience across those three visits. It's a great place, a great sports bar atmosphere, great food, a nice bar with great offerings of beer, wine and liquor. However, our experience on all three visits has been while the initial service is great, getting seated, getting your food served, but once that happens, then the staff seems to forget about you. It may be a staffing issue. But on our last visit for Father's Day, it appears the chef was running food to the tables as well, so we understand staffing can be difficult. That is really the only complaint we have. It's close to family, has gluten-free offerings so somewhat of a favorite so we'll continue to visit but the service drop off after your meal is served is our only complaint.

Cons for this paragraph is the wait for the food is ridiculous. Why 45 min at least for any dishes. If you're ordering multiple. They're not coming out all at once. The appetizer orecchiette we got was tasty in regard to the texture. Nicely al dente. But it was extremely salted and extremely sour. Unsure of what flavor profile they want to have. Our server recommended the roasted chicken to be the most seasoned dish. I'm not sure whatever they marinated actually puncture the meat. It was cook well but virtually no flavor. Not any difference if you just boil chicken breast by itself. Everything was really pricey for no reason. Sure it was a good size? But if you compare it to restaurants located in downtown, a similar dish is at least 8-10$ cheaper. $14 for a basket of shoes string fries, $41 for roasted chicken and $43 for steak? On par with coors field at least. My assumption is that any new coming restaurants at the Stanley market is just a test run with a safety net to see if the restaurant actually performs well if it was a stand alone business.
