One thing I never thought I would be getting in Nashville is Japanese food. But let me tell you I was actually pretty impressed with this restaurant !! I didn't know what to expect and was afraid that the ramen was going to be disappointing but I was pleasantly surprised. For the food I give 4/5 - My boyfriend and I went for the happy hour before dinner and for edamame and the crispy rice. I have to say tjat the price for happy hour was pretty good and also the crispy rice was DELICIOUS!! We felt like we could eat so many of these. They were perfect bite size and had the right amount of spiciness and sweetness on top. I personally ordered the Tsukune ramen that had the chicken meatballs and I actually really enjoyed this unique ramen. I really liked the broth which was flavorful but not overly salty. The noodles were just right and as someone who has had a lot of ramen in my life I would say it's pretty good! For ambiance I give 4.5/5 - the restaurant had an izakaya ambiance and the place was nicely decorated. We sat on the bar and I felt like I was really at an izakaya. Try to make a reservation if you are coming on the weekend. The wait can get kinda crazy up to an hour and unless it's summer time you will just have to go wait in your car -- unless you want to ruin your appetite and get Jenni's ice cream It's a good vibe, dark, alternative & hipster. Definitely has that East Nashville vibe. I like their ramen but ask for the thicker noodles. It's flavorful, rich and slurp-able! Overall, I give this 3.5 stars, and here's why: We were seated outside on a nice day, but after waiting 15 min I had to go up and ask who our waitress was because we hadn't been greeted or given water. 5 min later, our waiter arrived (no apology for us waiting), but he proceeded to take care of us. We ordered spicy edamame, which wasn't spicy at all, more like just sweet, but i was hungry so it tasted pretty decent, haha. I got the vegan ramen, and it wasn't packed with flavor like I expected. The collard greens in it should have been cooked and seasoned a bit more and I feel like that would have made a little difference, but maybe it was meant to be really crunchy. (I wasn't a fan of that). I got spicy miso paste to try to add flavor and it just added more heat (not more flavor), but it made it a 1/2 note better. an absolute abomination of the japanese culture. first off the edamame was frozen it was way too soft and grainy. then we had the crispy rice where the rice and the spicy tuna was the same texture as baby food and couldn't differentiate between the two. then we had the japanese fried chicken, at first bite you'd think it tasted fine, but then you have another one and it left this grimy burnt taste in the back of your throat. I've lived in Nashville for over 10 years now, and Two Ten Jack is my favorite restaurant. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and after 5+ visits the service is always great. If you want to be sure your night goes well, this is the place to start. The brussel sprouts are the best you'll find anywhere, the sticky rice tuna will make you cry (from happiness), the JFK (fried chicken) has enough flavor to turn vegans into carnivores, the sushi is fresh with thoughtful combinations, every skewer is dripping with flavor, and lastly... You won't find better ramen anywhere in this city. I've debated over and over again with friends and the tori paitan is unbeatable. There's more positive things I could say about the drinks, vibe, etc. but you'll just have to try it for yourself (or don't and I'll get a table faster). read more

Started off downhill - upon being seated I thought The atmosphere was just ok. I was a bit turned off by the booth we were seated at- the cloth seats were just dirty / very stained and very hard for me to scoot across without being grossed out but I just had to grin and bear so as not to spoil a nice outing - I mean if u have a group reservation on a busy night it's not like they can just give you another vacant table :-/ I had the Japanese fried chicken (JFC) and fries. It was good - not great but not bad. A few ordered the spicy lobster noodles , as main dish with no other sides- they were ok. Kind of bland and dry. I dined at Two Ten Jack on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at around 8 pm. I was told this was one of the best places for ramen in Nashville only to be disappointed by their small ramen menu. However, Two Ten Jack offers a variety of small plates you can choose for starters. For the small plates: The salmon nanbanzuke was cooked perfectly and the salmon itself was fresh. The slaw that came with it was pretty basic and tasted nothing outstanding. The crispy rice + spicy tuna had good flavor, but I thought the rice to tuna ratio was too much. The wagyu gyoza was average as I didn't care for the oily ponzu that the dumplings were sitting in. The sunomono salad was heavily dressed and didn't taste like a balanced salad. Ramen: I ordered the popular tonkotsu ramen and I thought the broth was very rich, but lacking in flavor. The bowl definitely needed more green vegetables and some spices to cut the richness. The brothless spicy crab noodles were also very rich, but had more flavor than the tonkotsu. Service was friendly but could be more attentive. The food came out pretty quickly. read more

The JFC (Japanese fried chicken) is exceptional. Knocked off a star, as the meal can get quite pricey with the smaller portions and ordering numerous dishes. One of the few Izayaka places in Nashville! We came specifically this time for the yakitori. It's a great date night spot with nicely crafted cocktails and a cool/dark ambiance. Make reservations if you can, but we were able to be seated on a Saturday night at 7:30pm with a 15 min wait. We were seated at the bar and in the middle of all the action. Highly recommend getting a seat instead and not on the patio outside. Drinks Cocktails- All were great and the patrons next to us on either side also ordered great looking cocktails. Crafted well and with care. Non-alcoholic- lots of options including tea/topo chico etc. Food Japanese Fried Chicken - not what I was expecting for japanese kaarage. Not crispy, more soft batter coating than properly fried chicken. Good portion size. Wagyu Gyoza- comes with 4 and super crispy skin. Filling was great and no complaints! Yakitori Pork Belly - A must order! Comes with two so easily can split between two people. Pork Sausage - eh a pass next time for another yakitori. Wasn't a huge fan of the mustard that it came with on the side. Wagyu - slightly over cooked and peppers have a kick Chicken Thigh - super good and juicy Skirt Steak - still pink on the inside and tender Sushi Tuna Belly- good but not standout sushi Poke- interesting take w/ the fried wonton skin. Executed well but not a standout of the night Ramen I would pass and go to Black Dynasty. I recommend trying some of their other unique dishes instead. I've tried their ramen on several other occasions and it's good but not the best in Nashville. Dessert Mochi - good but it's the store bought kind. Not sure why they don't offer other dessert options? Maybe its because Jeni's and Five Daughters are right next door. Overall- Food was 8/10 with good attention to detail but slightly missing the mark in. A little bit confused because some food items were amazing, but others fell flat and it's hard to believe that they came from the same kitchen. I have had fresh ramen at least twice. I have yet to have ramen that was so good that I became a fan. I ended up at Two Ten Jack because it offered some vegan options and had great reviews on Yelp. Dinner here was quiet and peaceful. The menu didn't have a large amount of offerings and even fewer vegan options, but it was enough for a restaurant menu. Service was okay and the waiter helped find the vegan selections as they were not specifically noted. The ramen arrived on time and looked delicious, but the broth had a burnt flavor to it. No restaurant should serve anything burnt unless it is noted in the description. Well I wasn't super excited after finishing my meal. Two Ten Jack is fantastic!! My girlfriend and I went here on a date and enjoyed it thoroughly. They've got the best Raman in town and a fantastic atmosphere! In terms on negatives, the sushi that we got wasn't quite what we expected so we probably would do that again. And it's slightly pricey for what you get but so worth it!! What I did love is the crispy rice tuna appetizer, I would come back solely for that and their YUZU SOUR. Their yuzu sour is on tap which some might judge since it's not made fresh, but they make it extra boozy and strong so I like that Had the crab ramen which isn't in soup and it was good. Very creamy and buttery with lots of crab in it. I've had their ramen and sushi and it's also pretty decent. Nice little date night spot as it's cozy. Two Ten Jack has got to be hands down one of our favorite ramen restaurants. It's usually quite busy so make sure you get a reservation ahead of time. They use the Resy app. There were no reservations available when I tried, so I set an alert and when there was an opening for my time frame they automatically booked one for me and sent a notification. Just be aware they may charge for no shows or cancellations. The bar area is not open seating and could be on a wait. They also offer outdoor seating under there covered patio. They do require masks for entry. The have several cocktails on tap which are all amazing. Our favorites were the nishi cup and No. 2. Of course you can't have just one! The small plates and yakitori are perfect for sharing! I highly recommend trying the crispy Brussels and bacon wrapped asparagus. The tonkotsu ramen was awesome as always. It has a creamy pork broth which I have yet to find another restaurant duplicate this. If you want a little heat, you can add chili paste which comes on the side to mix in as you please. The overall ambiance is very chill and relaxing. It's dimly lit and all the booths are pretty separated with tall partitions between each. The menu can be accessed using your phone via QR code. They somehow reminded me of a Asian version of cacio y pepe. They were garlicky, and almost had a cheesy quality to them. Very good! I was about 3/4 done my bowl when I found a hair that definitely wasn't mine. They offered to get me another but I passed. I've been worked in restaurants and know it can happen. But it wasn't super pleasant. Husband got the Tonkotsu ramen. With chili oil and chili paste and extra eggs. I tried some and it was very good. It was a silky broth and with his additions had some nice spice. There was 2 different noodles. A thinner on like a Angel hair and then a thicker egg like noddle. He wanted more thick noodles.
