I bought almost 12 pounds of clams yesterday morning and steamed them for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed them, and the service was great !

We were impressed with the selection and the prices -- much more affordable than other commercial spots in Southern Maine.

It's fantastic. I also love their smoked Arctic char pâté with hot honey, smoked salmon pâté, and smoked rainbow trout pâté. It's creamy, delicate, buttery, and the natural smoke flavor comes through without it being overpowering and fishy. It's a luxurious, gourmet spread, and my freezer is adequately stocked. The people working there are hard-working, polite, and friendly gentlemen. Jim, the owner, is an absolute star. He's genuine and kind. I love Pinetree Seafood and Produce, and I'm forever hooked! Don't let this go by without visiting; you'll be glad you did.

I was hankering for a lobster roll without frills or a hefty price tag, and luckily found Pine Tree…read moreSeafood & Produce. I ordered a regular lobster roll and regular crab roll, along with a small fish chowder and clam chowder. The prices were very fair: $25 for the lobster, $15 for the crab, and $4 each for the 8oz chowders (discounted with the purchase of a roll). The seafood is fresh in the rolls and lightly dressed in mayo, which is my personal preference. The focus the is on the flavor of the generous servings of meat. It would have hit the spot to have small bits of celery or a nice piece of lettuce included: that's not a dealbreaker and, next time, I know to bring my own. I was impressed by the quality and toast of the bun, which had great crisp on the outside and chewiness once bitten into. This elevates the experience over a plain, room temperature hotdog bun. I thought the fish chowder was a bit on the salty side, so the classic clam chowder would be my go-to. I was able to sample smoked salmon and smoked rainbow fish pate while waiting for my order. Next time, I may skip the chowder and buy a tub of pate. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to be able to access a refrigerator anytime soon, so I did not buy any then and there. The store itself is small and cozy, so I imagine it gets quite packed at peak times with customers. Thankfully, it was quiet and it was easy to put in my order on a Tuesday afternoon. The staff were young and responsive, and my purchase was smooth. I will stop by again!

My husband I loved this place so much we came here twice within a 24 hour period. The lobster roll is just French freaking kiss. Wow.. mouth watering good. It's been 8 years since our honeymoon visit and I still think about this place. Fresh lobster, crispy calamari, hot French fries. They have an open dining area where you can sit anywhere you'd like. I'm from the Midwest so trying east coast seafood for the first time was a bit daunting. I didn't want to look foolish lol! The staff was very nice and helpful. Honestly, this place a 100/10!

The restaurant was busy during lunch, so clearly many customers are comfortable dining there despite the cost. I ordered the small calamari, which was tasty, well prepared, and not overly crisp. Update following the owner's response: I understand that seafood and restaurant operating costs are high, particularly during the summer in Maine. My review reflected my honest reaction to the prices and the value offered during my visit. I gave the restaurant three stars and did not attack the business or its staff. I am disappointed that the owner responded with personal, condescending remarks rather than addressing a customer's concerns professionally. Walking in smells like you walked onto the sea floor of the ocean and that's a wonderful feeling! They have a small, manageable selection of fresh fish. The day we went they had scallop, salmon, lobster, haddock, and some crab cakes and other seafare. They have a small pantry of seasonings, planks, and other seafood cooking items. By the entrance is a freezer of shrimp and other. We got standard fare: scallops and salmon. They had scallop chunks which are cheaper than regular scallops because they're the discards that have been cut up from the descalloping process, but they look, smell, and taste great. The man in charge was so attentive and really seemed knowledgeable about everything. Fun fact, they've been here since 1947! So in 2020, they've been here for over 73 years! Their Facebook is chock full of helpful seafood facts and it's just a really well managed family business. I'm so glad I stopped by and wish I had sooner.
