Second time at Dock's, came in at 3 p.m. and it wasn't busy. We had the seafood chowder to start, and it was delicious with the perfect amount of seafood, thin broth, and quite filling even though the bowl seemed small. BF had the blackened haddock tacos; this was one of the best tacos. Well-executed and the flavors are unique and addictive. Then I had the 8oz fried whole belly clams, market price $40. See Pic. This was perfectly fried and satisfying; however, the price is just a bit much and the portions are good for me, kinda small. I've had a pint of the same clams in mid-coast Maine for $26. This serving wasn't huge, so just be mindful when ordering as it's just clams, nothing else for the price. Service was good, friendly, and fast. And if you're in midcoast Maine, try Cameron's Lobster House in Brunswick or Boothbay Lobster Wharf, as the pint of clams are less than $30.

I had read on a gf site that Docks had perfected its coating on the fried food and its gf so I had to try it. Boy, am I happy I did. My husband had the haddock bites which he said were not greasy at all and he would never know it was gf. I had a pint of fried clams. I was really wanting to try the fried chicken as well, so I ordered the kids plate which came with salt and vinegar fries. I was so happy, I thought I was going to cry. I have not had my favorite fried foods in years and this tasted as delicious as I remembered. To top it off they also had Orange Bike Brewing gf beer. If you are gf or even if you are not and just want some delicious fried seafood, do not walk but run to Docks! The service was very good too!

I really enjoyed the lobster roll I got which was a cold lobster roll with mayo and we also got the hot buttered lobster roll. The clam shower was delicious and perfect for a cold rainy day. I was a huge fan of the chips they had! They were well seasoned and yummy!

Lobster bisque, pint of fried clams and fries too.

This place is an absolute gem. The lobster bisque was some of the best I have ever had, loaded with chunks of meat. AJ at the bar was excellent and very helpful with recommendations.

Stopped in since recent post that all their fried food is gluten free! Very exciting and delicious. Great service with knowledgeable staff and seating indoors, at the bar or outside on a nice day. Offers local brews including gluten free beer and a full bar. Dine in or take out

Connecticut style lobster roll and fries.

Great lobster roll (got the Connecticut style buttered) and decent crab cakes. Has good accessibility with off street parking, which is a big plus compare to the hectic nature of downtown (Old Port) the ambience was adequate and they had some fun gift shop items as well as pre-packed to go foods like chowder. The service was attentive and friendly. The pricing is decent for a high tourism area.

Brought my mom here for her birthday cause she loves seafood and she was impressed! Lots of great things! The lobster was super fresh and you could tell it wasn't frozen, the fish in the fish and chips was cooked perfectly. Their homemade fries were amazing. Homemade ceaser salad was fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. Couple things: it's really loud so hard to hear in their. Steamers were great but you didn't get many of them. The lobster rolls were amazing but a little on the small side for the price. I will be back!

I ain't never been to Maine until this past week. I asked plenty of people what they recommended. This was one of 'em-and I'm so glad I decided to go here! The service was friendly, attentive, and got everything 100% right. The food was of great portions for its value, absolutely delicious, and exactly what I was looking for. The atmosphere is relaxed, as in any casual dining experience, but still was pleasant with its cleanliness and neatness. I have only good things to say, and y'all should absolutely consider goin' here for your Maine choice!

When you're in Maine, you have to do lobster right? Well I did and I was so happy I went to this restaurant. The place is comfortable and casual with a small but outstanding selection of seafood. I went with the single lobster and a side of potato salad. Also, there is an unsung hero on their menu... You must try the vinegar and salt french fries. You wouldn't think a seafood joint would have great fries but these are absolutely fantastic fresh cut fries with a dash of malt vinegar. Probably top five french fries I've had anywhere in the world. No kidding. Shout out to my server Grace, who was fantastic and earned a handsome tip from yours truly.

This is a place where the locals purchase seafood not only to take home to prepare but to dine in too! The market displays the seafood very nicely. The service was great. The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect and enjoy. There is plenty of outdoor seating and parking.

Overcooked, dry, small lobster roll. No flavor, all zapped out! Hard fries.

I popped in for a quick lunch. It wasn't busy and that should have been my first red flag. Tried it anyway. Although I am very appreciative of the service, if the foods not good, I'm not going back. A first time for having a BAD lobster roll in Maine. It's was super dry and over cooked. They must have taken pre-shelled lobster meat and reheated it in the microwave! Just awful! Asking for additional butter did help it either. Overcooked, Dry, Bland! Oh, and super small roll. Even the French fries were fried too hard, oily, held under a heater maybe? Nice server but It's a big no-go for me.

The day we went they had scallop, salmon, lobster, haddock, and some crab cakes and other seafare. They have a small pantry of seasonings, planks, and other seafood cooking items. By the entrance is a freezer of shrimp and other. We got standard fare: scallops and salmon. They had scallop chunks which are cheaper than regular scallops because they're the discards that have been cut up from the descalloping process, but they look, smell, and taste great. The man in charge was so attentive and really seemed knowledgeable about everything. Fun fact, they've been here since 1947! So in 2020, they've been here for over 73 years! As a result the uni I received was swimming in brine; I would have preferred the straight-up uni I had before. I got two vegetarian dishes- both were disappointing: the seaweed salad was crunchy, flavorless and the Maine seaweed in vinegar was slimy and otherwise flavorless. I ordered these for Steff- I'm afraid she and other vegetarians would be disappointed. The whole dish of salmon roe on the other hand was fantastic- I was careful not to leave a single egg- so fresh, so sweet- better than the Osetra and Beluga caviar I have had in Manhattan. Robert Deniro, whose diet I have read about consists mainly of caviar, would love this. It would take little effort to come up with more vegetarian dishes.

Once you pay, head upstairs to the staff cafeteria (third door on the right). You can use their microwaves to heat up your rice, grab sauces, rice seasonings, etc. There are some bench tables to sit at and enjoy. I am so glad I got to experience this-it was delicious! That being said, I would probably just buy my fish here and take it home next time to roll up my sushi and make it more beautiful. If you are expecting a restaurant with sushi offerings like Yosaku, do NOT be mistaken. This is a fish trading business that happens to sell some DIY lunch items. Still delicious, just come in with the expectation that they are selling and packaging fish, it smells fishy, it is a workplace.
