Pinetree Seafood is an absolute must when I'm in Maine. I couldn't leave Maine without the crab…read morerolls. And the smoked salmon, be it plain, everything lox, or the pastrami lox. It's fantastic. I also love their smoked Arctic char pâté with hot honey, smoked salmon pâté, and smoked rainbow trout pâté. It's creamy, delicate, buttery, and the natural smoke flavor comes through without it being overpowering and fishy. It's a luxurious, gourmet spread, and my freezer is adequately stocked. The people working there are hard-working, polite, and friendly gentlemen. Jim, the owner, is an absolute star. He's genuine and kind. I love Pinetree Seafood and Produce, and I'm forever hooked! Don't let this go by without visiting; you'll be glad you did.

The smoked haddock chowder should be the main attraction for this place, it was seriously really legit. The lobster wasn't quite our style; the lobster was super cold and I believe had the slightest bit of mayo to the point it wasn't really even enough mayo to even know it was there. I don't mind the philosophy of letting the lobster shine, but lobster needs a bit of salt or SOMETHING to make its flavor pop. If you like Maine style then you might like this but if you favor Connecticut style then you might not prefer how this is made.

The flavoring on both rolls was subtle, but that allowed the natural tastes and sweetness of the lobster and crab to come through. Sort of a side of the road place, so if you miss it, you'll have to double back. But it'll be worth it!

I put the supposed butter i was given on a plate and it stayed liquid at room temp, so it was some sort of yellow oil butter imitation, and it didnt taste like butter at all, real butter becomes solid at room temp. After I paid and left I noticed they had sticks of real butter in the refrigerator with all the drinks. ... Also, the lobsters were not cooked in salt water, just plain water. All the good places Ive ever been to cook lobster in salt water which brings out the flavor and makes a delicious lobster broth when you crack the shells. Also, the coleslaw just tasted like mayonase. They had a bunch of kids working there who were probably new and their first job and maybe not trained yet. Nice outdoor seating space. Nice spot near ocean, can feel sea air. Hopefully management will see this review and make some changes in the future; as the lobster is the main attraction here, two giant red lobster signs on the building.
