Everything was delicious! Since it was Easter season, we ordered 6 hot cross buns - and they were the best ones I've ever eaten. Bready with a great chew! Also ordered a sticky bun (OMG - this was not easy to eat in the car, but SO worth it. Caramelly goodness, studded with nuts like toffee), an apple strudel (my son loved this one) and morning buns (YUM!). Parking was easy. Pick up was fast - there was only one person in front of me. Twofish Baking is an oasis! If you're in the area or driving along the 1 it's a worthwhile stop :) I arrived about an hour before they closed and they still had a few items to choose from, which was a treat! The shop itself is really cute and has a deli, lots of drink options, and some cute kitschy stuff that I feel makes sense for being a shop in the sort of middle of nowhere (sorry, I know that is incredibly snobby to say). I chose a sticky bun and was delighted! It was definitely sticky and tasty. My mistake was not getting a coffee with it because the coffee would've been great with the sweetness--learn from my mistake! I was super pleased with the pastry and think it would be perfect if I got it when it was fresh from the oven. I fully recommend making a stop if you can! If you find yourself in the area of Gualala this place is just south of the Sea Ranch in what used to be a general store (they still sell things it is just sort of a combination market and bakery now). You can but snacks and wine and some knickknacks of various types but the real reason to come here these days is the bakery. We went mid-day and had sandwiches. I have always felt that the make-or-break ingredient for a sandwich is the bread and theirs does not disappoint. You can put just about anything on great bread and I will eat it. This place gets busy on the weekends and during "the season" but they work pretty quickly and sitting at a picnic table staring at the ocean while you wait doesn't suck. read more

We went here for lunch while we stayed at Timber Cove. Twofish baking has great breakfast and lunch items. Twofish baking is inside the Stewards Point Store. I got the veggie max sandwich and it was delicious. My husband got the calzone and he loved his meal as well. There is plenty of parking and they have 4 picnic tables outside where you can eat your meal. They will give you a buzzer that will go off when your meal is ready and you walk inside to pick it up. Inside the store they have lots of items such as locally made items for sale, beer and other drinks, taffy and other candy, and other items. They even have dog biscuits for sale if you want to give your dog a little treat. We were glad we stopped here to eat and felt that the items were reasonably priced. There's a Stepford-like vibe to Sea Ranch that honestly spooks me a bit every time I pass by those identical-looking upscale houses and especially that 1970's-era ram's head logo emblazoned on the public buildings. The ram horns curl up in what looks like eyeballs stalking your every move on the property. Creepy. Such was the feeling Jamie W. and I had as we were driving up Annapolis Road looking for this bakery. You turn a corner and end up at the strangest-looking strip mall with yes, that ram's head logo staring at you (see photo). But alas, the bakery. Before walking inside, I was worried that we would be greeted by women with glazed-over faces and Princess Leia hairdos that mirror the ram's head logo. But no, we were greeted warmly by a female crew that looked to be cleaning up after a morning rush on their goodies. We were there around 1PM, so there wasn't much left. But what was left was cherce. We decided to try two goodies for about $4 a piece. We tried an Apricot Window Pane, a lovely cookie-like pastry with a gloss of fresh apricot preserve that indeed looks like a window pane (see photo). But the showstopper was the most simple, a slice of their Lemon Cake, which was unbelievably moist and amazingly not heavily citrus in flavor (see photo). Unlike Franny's Cup and Saucer, which we would visit later that afternoon, Two Fish is not so much focused on sweet confections with frosting but more the breads, granola and pastries you like to wake up to if you didn't have to consider the consequences of the carbs later. It may be worthwhile to stay overnight in Sea Ranch in order to try a bigger selection of their specialty baked goods. Even if it does mean I have to join the ram's head cult that must exist here. BAKED GOODS - 5 stars...delicious, buttery...someone stop me! Where do I begin? The best bakery that I have ever been to? I'm lucky enough to visit Sea Ranch frequently so I have been there dozens of times. Quality, selection NEVER disappoint. Many styles of bread Sweet and savory breakfast options. Primo Barista work by owner. Great lunch sandos on their own great bread. After a long weekend trip and driving down on Hwy 1 from Fort Bragg, out of all the little towns and communities we passed, we found this hidden gem! Everyone was so welcoming, all walks of life passed through as I people watched enjoying our mid morning snack. I wish I got here early to try their breakfast burrito. This place is a combo of a general store, bakery and deli! Everything.. I mean everything is reasonably priced!! From their travel size toothpaste to coffee and baked goods! Definitely refreshing to experience from prices I experience living in the South Bay Area. Everything is made with Love and you can taste it! As a retired pastry chef, 10 stars on these tried and true class pastries and baked good. I regret not buying a fresh baked loaf of bread. Bear claw was light buttery crispy and not to overwhelming sweet. Coconut macaroons taste from someone's great grandmothers hands, pure classic, no fluff, no new take on a classic and that's what I look for. I come across places where the pastries are science experiments, combo of flavors that shouldn't belong together but taste good (nothing wrong with that) but I personally like it when people hone into their craft and is a real expertise. Everyone seems to do the most in being a jack of all trades. Losing focus on creating a good product and perfecting it. Twofish Baking Co. has definitely perfected their craft! Stop here grab a snack, maybe a missing item you forgot to pack and indulge in your time at one of their tables. Love this place and have seen the changes threw the years. The Friday pizza night is so much fun. Its up stairs and the room is filled with the feeling of history. The staff is warm and fun and work hard to deliver pizza and drinks. You can bring in your own wine with a small corkage fee. The pizza is tasty though I love Italian style pizza. This is a gem of a bakery and cafe. I found out about this place through my fiancé who has been going here for the past 20 years. The chefs really know what they are doing when it comes to everything on the menu! I always crave this bread and their Italian sandwich when I am not in the area, so much so that I have tried a mock recipe of the bread for the sandwich but to no avail, the secret speaks for itself in Twofishes bread! Hi, we have been purchasing baked goods ever since we purchased a place at SR. I cannot say enough good things about their bakery items. Like others, I love their challah and also their baguettes. Another favorite of ours, are their morning buns, and the rosemary raisin bread that they bake on Thursday. Also, for dog owners, they make dog biscuits that my doodle loves.
