Easy-to-find spot near Sonoma, right by a peaceful river -- such a lovely setting. It's a self-service restaurant, which keeps things casual and relaxed. We tried a few sandwiches, and they were fresh and tasty. The ambience is great -- perfect for a laid-back lunch with a view. Would definitely stop by again.

We had tuna melt and pastrami sandwiches. Portions were big but the taste was ok. Tuna melt was a bit too salty.

Grabbing lunch before/after a float down Russian River? I got a fat sandwich from Farmhand! The space is decorated well with plenty of indoor/patio/outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is right on the river which was nice! The sandwiches are a little pricey, but sooo huge! There's a wide variety, and you can customize. My Italian sandwich was good, hit the spot, pretty good. The outdoor space has critters (bugs) which was fine, but some people didn't like it. Everyone was really nice there! If you're craving a sandwich, this is a good local business to support

The Farmhand is an unassuming deli by the riverside that offers delicious freshly made sandwiches, cold pastas and sides, and coffee. The deli itself has a variety of eating spaces - outside by the lot, inside, and outside on the patio by the Russian River. The interior is quirky and decorated with unique antique pieces. We thoroughly enjoyed the sandwiches, much more than some of the other sandwich places in the Russian River area for the same cost. They were warm, fresh, flavorful, and generously sized and worth the value. I recommend visiting The Farmhand to escape the crowds in Guerneville and enjoy delicious food with riverfront views.

I'd say 4.5 would be more accurate. Stopped here for lunch after a hike & it hit the spot. The interior is pretty cool with multiple options (inside & out) so don't let the sign saying market & deli fool you. They also have a coffee bar and my friend & I loved our ice lattes. The employee who made them was super nice. One friend had the pastrami panini and said it was yummy. I had the Brie & apple panini- it tasted great but the ratio of apples over the Brie was quite out numbered and although the bread was good it didn't hold up well so I needed a fork to eat it. We sat on the back patio which offers great views of the Russian River. I believe there is beach access here (not positive). We saw Adirondack chairs, tables & hammocks on the grassy area below. Lots of whimsical art and succulent displays.

Farmhand is one of my favorite places to eat in Guerrneville. The food, coffee and ambiance is just wonderful. I especially love their sandwiches and coffees. I came here several times during my Guerrneville getaway. * REUBEN PANINI: 5/5 HOUSE-MADE CORNED BEEF, HOUSE-MADE THOUSAND ISLAND, SAUERKRAUT AND SWISS CHEESE ON RYE. Though the sandwich got a bit soggy halfway through, the sandwich was so delicious. Also comes with a pickle :) * WILLI BIRD smoked turkey: 4/5 House, smoked turkey, mayo, pesto, lettuce, tomato, brie cheese, on toasted nightingales seeded sourdough bread. My friend said she really loved her sandwich. * Potatoe salad: 4/5 This went perfectly with my sandwich. Flavor was balanced and delicious. * Biscuits & Gravy: 5/5 My first time eating biscuits and gravy. Though I am unseasoned in the biscuits and gravy experience, I thought it was delicious... * Deviled eggs: 5/5 Super delicious, perfectly seasoned. * Iced Oatmilk matcha with lavender, added 2 espresso shots: 5/5 My favorite yes drink there. I ordered this twice. The ambiance is also lovely. Lots of intimate touches. There are games and toys to play with for free. There is also a piano, which I played. It's in tune :) Overall, I would love to come back. Service was great, the view is spectacular and love the coffee and small intimate touches they add to the entire dining experience...

In the town of Guernville there is a place called Farmhand. Where life is in no hurry or haste. There you will find simple good food. There is a small parking lot that is available to both new and returning customers. You're in the right place when you see the bright red inviting Farmhand and teal pickup truck out front. Traveling with beloved furry canines? There is an outdoor patio adorned with quirky collectibles ready to welcome them. At the early hour of opening, it was relaxing to have the Russian river and views of the distant Redwoods to ourselves. Either order up at the register with the friendly staff or with their online service farmhand.net In the front there are also a variety of refrigerated drinks and snacks for purchase. In the back there is a display of baked pastries for the day. The hot pastrami sandwich with swiss cheese, pickles, red onions, and pepperoncini on sourdough was delicious! There was even a crunchy pickle spear on the side. Something I wish all sandwiches came with. I have a tendency to steer away from biscuits and gravy, but these were home made and comforting. I would definitely order again especially on a cold morning. Their eggless potato salad was my favorite. We actually came back for it twice! There won't be a question of where we will be eating when visiting Guernville when we know Farmhand is there!

Piknik is mostly known for great coffee and biscuits, including biscuit sandwiches and other scrumptious pastries. We tried a few things, which included the banana bread, a biscuit breakfast sandwich, and a few coffees. I was very impressed by the biscuits. The texture is great, and the crunch on the outside is perfect. The sausage, egg, and cheese were a great complement. The coffee was good. My grandma enjoyed the cappuccino, which she often says is difficult to prepare properly. The banana bread was also impressively moist, even after a few days, as we ate it for breakfast during our trip. The staff here was super nice and hospitable. I enjoyed the ambiance, too. Piknik is both a cafe and a market, so they have lots of great gifts to browse as you're waiting for coffee and food. Certainly worth a stop for a quick breakfast if you're in Guerneville.

Got the turkey sandwich and it was a travesty. I had no idea it would come hot-- that should be noted. I told the cashier I was packing it with me for the river. I don't want sticky Dutch crunch bread and HOT lettuce... I guess my bad for not asking. But then the turkey... one single sad slice running the length of an 8" piece of bread. For $16. Absolutely absurd. I only waited as long as I did to get a premium sandwich. After all that, they didn't even wrap it to go and I had to plop the sticky mess into a box myself. Thanks. Giving 3* because they have cute snacks/drinks and the smoked salmon and biscuit for the "Sea Biscuit" were well done. It didn't have the promised shallots though, and all the capers were concentrated in the middle. Not a super pleasant surprise. Don't offer food you can't make correctly while busy. And fire that blond guy who was walking around like he'd never seen a kitchen before.

There is a variety of rotating baked goods and a few easy breakfast options (like yogurt parfaits, frittata slices, and breakfast burritos) that have always been delicious. The homemade pastries are seriously amazing. Today, my scone (gluten free pear, ginger, and cardamom) was so yummy I got a second one to go (there isn't always a gf option for pastries available so especially enjoyed this one). Someone said their almond croissants were the best they had ever had. And they've had croissants all over. The coffeehouse is super cute, with nice indoor and outdoor seating options.
