Review of Texas Treasures Estate Sales I am sharing my experience with Texas Treasures Estate Sales, owned by Ava Neal of Lakeside, Texas, so others researching estate sale companies can make informed decisions. This review reflects my personal experience. I contacted Texas Treasures Estate Sales to conduct an estate sale for the contents of my 3000 sq ft home. I did not hire the company to sell the home or select a real-estate agent. During the consultation, Ava Neal walked through the home and reviewed the contents. I explained that the water had been temporarily turned off after the winter freeze and would be turned back on the next day. After reviewing the home and contents, a written agreement was signed for the estate sale. During the consultation, Ava Neal repeatedly encouraged me to contact her real-estate agent and suggested listing the home before the estate sale. I explained several times that my plan was to complete the estate sale First and choose my Own agent later. There were also repeated questions about Guns and Vehicles. I explained those were not part of the estate sale inventory. The property is approximately 3,000 square feet and contained a full household of items already reviewed during the walkthrough. I was also asked who owned the property, and I Confirmed that I am the Owner. Ava Neal asked for a house key multiple times. I explained that I was not comfortable providing a key to someone I had just met, and that I live nearby and could meet at the house whenever access was needed. Access was Never an issue. Some items for the estate sale were boxed and organized in the garage in preparation for sorting and pricing. After signing the agreement, I also set aside personal time to prepare for the sale. The following day, Ava Neal returned with tables and racks typically used to set up estate sales, indicating preparations were beginning. However, during that same visit I was told the home would not generate enough revenue for the estate sale and the agreement should be cancelled, even though the home and contents had already been reviewed and a contract had been signed. I asked what should be done with the contract and was told to Tear It Up. I had waited about a year to arrange the estate sale due to grief and hired a company because my time is valuable and I expected a professional process. When the agreement was cancelled after preparations had begun, the time and effort I set aside were lost. When working with a professional company, customers reasonably expect professionalism, clear communication, and reliability. I am sharing this experience so others researching estate sale companies can make informed decisions. Readers can review information and draw their own conclusions. I feel giving a One Star is too high for this company. read more

They listed a free fish tank and I messaged within 5 mins of it being posted. They said it is first come first serve and everyone just had to come to the sale at 10am. So my 12 year old got up super early and they went and waited a couple hours to make sure to be first but it turns out that night they sold it for $100 instead. That's just really bad business and shows that they have no integrity at the end of the day. When I told them it's rude of them, they just blocked me Instead of even saying sorry. I wouldn't choose to work or shop with them if this is how they treat people. read more

Well ,then she either proceeded to sell the property WITHOUT authorisation ( unprofessional and unlawful) or she DID get the paperwork and she's LYING that she didn't. She libels me (unprofessional again, and unlawful) by calling me a crook, for which she has no evidence or proof. The check for the sales was made out to the homeowner and deposited in the homeowners account. I collected NOTHING for my work. I f there is a lawyer seeing this who wants to sue Ava pro-bono ( it's too expensive for my budget) I'll be more than happy to provide all accounting , bills, receipts, account statements, to prove my innocence. It's all here for anyone to see. Until I can get a full inventory made , I won't know the disposition of any items from the house. just saying. read more

Lady with white hair severely upcharged on items last day *75% off* items that weren't priced(probably on purpose?)and then added 10$ to charge before hurrying us off. I think she was upset because she tried to re-price our laptop as 50$ when it already had a 25$ sticker. Got to the car and receipt literally has nothing on it(all sales final huh). STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Unethical business owner who misrepresents the final sale figures. She "missed" some items the first time we contacted her with discrepancies so she gave us an additional small amount due. When we disputed additional items we had in the house but no tickets for, she altered original tickets to cover her thieving butt.... taking her to small claims so she can explain her deception to a judge. I went to a estate sale through this company today and it was the most unorganized trashiest estate sale I have ever encountered! We had to walk out because you couldn't see nothing because everything was piled in boxes and all over the floor! I wrote her and she wrote back in a very unprofessional response calling me a bitch and cunt! No wonder this company has such low ratings! Went to an estate sale today advertised to open at 10 am. Opened at 10 to let only 10 people in with a line of 75 waiting to get in. Owner was late and they didn't let more than 30 in before 11 am. Prices were WAY OVER Priced for an estate sale. Found out thru chatting with many other disgruntled seasoned pickers that the sale was price by a antique dealer in Dallas area. IT was retail prices thru out the whole sale. DO yourself a favor and if you see this company advertising a sale, save your time and money and go to the next one. read more

Very unprofessional woman owns this business. I signed my contract and sent it the day after my consultation. The msg. was marked as read. I was concerned when I didn't hear back and called a couple of weeks later. Clearly she forgot about my contract and scheduled another sale in my weekend. Any professional would have been horrified and willing to do whatever necessary to correct the mistake. This woman didn't even have the courtesy to return my phone call. She kept avoiding my calls with excuses. How immature and cowardly. Scheduled my sale with another company and it was the most profitable sale they ever had. Glad I dodged that bullet! I rest my case. No apologies. She's never done anything wrong in her life. If I had nothing of value, why did I make over $20,000 profit after my 40% fee? She insulted me and acted aggressive- when I called my mother over to leave she verbally assaulted me in front of everyone- the sale ground to a halt by her aggressive behavior. My partner and I love going to estate sales! We happen to catch a sale in Bedford last weekend and it was heavily discounted on the last day. I fell in love with an antique wooden display case. We were hesitant on completing the sale just stressing about how we were going to get this piece of furniture home. The nice young ladies working the sale got Mr Neal and he made us an offer we couldn't refuse. He gave us such an awesome deal and offered delivery! That right there had us sold. No other estate sale has ever offered us delivery on furniture. And we have been to a lot of estate sales. Now I have a display case to show off all my estate sale treasures! The people running the sale are very organized and well prepared for their sales. Doors opened promptly at start time and everything is clearly marked. Found several pieces and will look for their sales again. My only critique would be that their pricing was inconsistent and many items were marked way above market value. read more

ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN! DO NOT FREQUENT HER SALES! Ada Neal (the owner) is horribly unprofessional, will grossly overprice your items and won't complete your sale or do ANYTHING she says she will do. RUN! DO NOT WALK. RUN. FAST. FAR AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN! I hired her to do a moving sale for me and pointed out exactly which items would be included. I never heard from her again until a couple of days before the sale, when she sent two incredibly unprofessional teenaged "assistants" to prepare for the sale. Our movers didn't load one of our refrigerators so I told the assistant they could sell it. We had already sold our house and moved out. Ada promised the house would be empty when the sale was over, anything that wasn't sold would be donated. The sale started at 10am today. By 11:45am she sent me a very rude text asking me where the refrigerator was. I told her my adult daughter needed it so she moved it to her house. It was never part of the original agreement, so no harm no foul. Nope. Ada proceeded to QUIT THE SALE. Just walked out. Wouldn't even confirm she had locked my house up. Proceeded to call me a BIT**H, said F*CK YOU, then called me a liar and a psycho. I was 100% professional with her, offered to let her keep 100% of the proceeds, begged her to just please finish the sale and do what she said she would do so my house would be empty for the new owners as she promised. She WALKED OUT ON OUR SALE. Left me high and dry, I have already moved away, with no way of getting these items out of my house. I called a friend to go over to my house to make sure it was locked. She sent me pictures of my items and ALL of the higher value items were GONE. And Ada says she didn't sell them, that they weren't there and called me a psycho and a liar. Nobody here is a psycho except ADA NEAL. All of this was done by TEXT and EMAIL so anyone who wants to see who is a liar and a psycho check out the screen shots below. My part of the conversation is in blue. It pretty much speaks for itself. And the "owners response" is a joke, just as all of her responses to the numerous negative reviews she has are. She doesn't even know my name. And my screen shots speak for themselves. EVERYONE ELSE is NOT a liar. The liar is ADA NEAL. The texts don't lie. She obviously does. UPDATE - 8/8/20 - My neighbor contacted me today after hearing that I was scammed by TX Treasures Estate Sales. He let me know his girlfriend witnessed two men carrying large items out of my house and loading them into a white van early Friday morning at 9am- an hour before the sale started. And Ada Neal's gray Dodge Ram truck was also parked at my house! She was having her goons load up all the items she took that she said were never there! I guess Ava Neal will be calling my neighbor a liar too. It's her go-to response, along with name calling, cursing, racial slurs and homophobic rhetoric, when anyone tells the unfortunate truth about their experience with her and these sham "estate sales". read more

This is the most unprofessional company. When they did my estate sales they did not have a receipt for me for a lot of the items. I told them what items were not for sale and of course they came up missing. I came to my house when the sale was going on and saw that they were packing up and we're going to take a collection that I had. They just made excuses that they were getting everything downstairs. I hired this company to do my estate sale. They charged me $500.00 to take a few boxes to storage. They gave me all of the receipts from the sale and there several items that did not have receipts, so they pocketed that money. . They are thieves. Stay away from this company. read more

The long and short of it is ... the owner does not take notes so items were sold that I requested not be sold, she does not communicate well and she wanted to charge me an additional $500 to haul items to charity that initially she told me were included in her percentage fee. I would not recommend this unethical company who has sloppy business practices. read more
