The first time visiting (back in August), there was a little bit of miscommunication between the front desk and I about what service I requested when I went in during the week. It was a little hard to communicate, and I felt a little rushed to make a decision about my nail color. However, they have multiple comprehensive books with examples to help visualize gel or dip options. I was ambivalent about the quality of my nails this experience because of the price and kindness of my nail tech were relatively positive. In October, my sister and I had a great experience! The vibe inside is very serene and inviting. The decorations are cute, the options for gel and acrylics were laid out well, and the chairs and stations are very sanitary. Le (my nail tech) was very meticulous and careful with my nails. I let her know it was my first time getting acrylics for my birthday (but I had gotten many manicures before) and she made sure to check in with me about whether or not I liked them before moving onto next steps. She was also a great conversationalist with a great heart! My sister's nail tech in October was also super nice and accommodating as well. Her design was a little more intricate and was executed nicely. In December, both my sister and I's experience was not one I would recommend. Granted, it was a little busier; however, I called and made an appointment a week in advance. We both came in with Christmas inspiration pictures with simpler designs and specifics, which were not executed well. I asked for a more matte red with a silver ring finger nail (like the picture) with a square shape and was once again rushed to sit in a chair instead of being able to look for the color I wanted. I asked for help and the nail tech brought me a couple of options. She showed me a few that weren't close to what I was looking for, but, honestly, most of the polishes on display looked old and sticky, so I picked a red that wasn't really what I wanted. I also asked for a sparkly silver (and showed her the picture) and she initially brought out a silver with gold iridescent sparkles instead of silver iridescent sparkles (and was clumpy). I asked if there was another option and she showed me one that had silver chunky sparkles, which I liked (but didn't realize was just a top coat since she didn't show me on my nails). The manicure itself was okay, she did a clean job with my cuticles and buffed my nails. However, she filed my nails unevenly and the water to soak my nails in was very cold. My sister also had a similar experience where her nail tech didn't execute the color or shape well on her acrylics. She got nail glue on the side of her nails and her acrylics were crooked as well. Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here on a Saturday or over the weekend when the place is busier, but I would recommend going during the week and with a nail tech with good reviews. The prices here are relatively reasonable and the environment is very sanitary and clean.

Michelle then mentioned that the salon operates on a tiered pricing system but this was only disclosed after the service had already been completed. Unfortunately, her tone and attitude during this interaction were unprofessional and dismissive, which left me feeling disrespected. As you are likely aware, Virginia law requires that the total price of a service, including any mandatory fees or surcharges, be clearly communicated before the consumer commits to the purchase. Price transparency allows customers to make an informed decision, and in this case, that did not happen. Teesha did a wonderful job with my hair and was very pleasant to work with. However, situations like this not only create frustration for customers, but also place stylists like Teesha in an unfair position as the unexpected additional expense kept me from giving her a tip. I recently came in to get my arms, legs, and a Brazilian wax done and time flew by so fast because of our conversation. I didn't feel uncomfortable at any point during the waxing session (all of this came out to $170). Prices are extremely reasonable in my opinion. I used to go to one of the waxing chains in Ashburn, and I can definitely tell you that service + price at Voda Spa is way more deserving of my business. Heather also does facials :) I really hope to get a facial done by her sometime soon too. They sounded awesome when I asked her about them, and the fact they all include extractions to get all that gunky stuff out of your skin sounds appealing. In summary, reasonable prices, cozy environment, and excellent customer service. P.S. Weekends can be super hard to book with Heather, so if you need weekend appointments, book them at least 3 weeks in advance. Also, the door to enter Voda Spa is on the side of the building. There's a door outside that says "Voda Spa."
