I think that due to the distance from Savannah, this pier does not get a lot of usage compared to others in the area. The pier side of the creek also contains a boat ramp about a one-half mile from the pier, with the pier situated at the end of the road. There are no public facilities or running water at the pier, with two portable restrooms the only structures located there. While fishing, there are great views of the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. Visible on the other side of the creek are several fishing and charter boats, jet skiers, kayakers and several restaurants. In between catching fish, activity from these businesses is more than enough to keep you occupied while enjoying the picturesque views. It is never too busy at the pier, with weekend traffic consisting of about ten people. Consider Lazaretto Fishing Pier if you desire a peaceful and scenic fishing experience.

Across the creek is the Loco Moco Bar and North Island Kayak & Canoe Rentals (also jet skis). Great location to watch the sun raise or just good ol' fashion fish'n. It was nearly 7 at the time and the marina was closed so that is why I called him the next day. The Bubba Gumbos manager saw the beam sticking halfway out in the parking lot as shown in my picture and he is the one who pushed it back on the trailer bed. I have no idea why it was sticking out dangerously as shown on the picture. It was around 7 and the sun glare made it hard to see as shown in my pictures. You can see the attitude and extreme lack of care in the owners response. I was always polite and respectful so that is a blatant lie saying I was belligerent. I have all the texts between us and am happy to share. Their negligence damaged my vehicle and I ran in front of another vehicle that nearly hit the beam right after me preventing a second accident within just a few minutes. I even offered to split the repair costs to which I received no reply at all. I tried to work with him, but he treated me extremely unprofessionally. We were planning to eat at Bubba Gumbos that night and had been looking to take a boat out to Little Tybee while on our trip, but will never use this marina or eat here. I advise you to do the same.

We found Sundial Charters had what we were looking for and after calling and posting to FaceBook we were able to connect and make plans for them to take us to Little Tybee. Captains Dave and Rene communicated well with us including instructions where to meet and we took a 4 hour boating trip to Little Tybee and surrounding area. Rene came shell hunting with us and she is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the types of shells, the environment, and the wildlife/ birds that are in the area. Dave shared history of the island and marsh as he guided the boat through the waterways. My husband and I were very impressed by their knowledge and welcoming demeanor. We go so many sand dollars it was like Easter! It was indeed a pleasure that we hope to repeat on our next visit to Tybee. Maybe next time we'll try fossil hunting.

They were SO knowledgeable about the area and such fun to chat with on a beautiful March day. We went to two different beaches, and Jamie helped us find probably 40 shark teeth of all sizes. It was amazing - I truly cannot believe we found so many. On the second beach, Malcolm showed us the coolest fossils I never would've even noticed, like a camel tooth from thousands of years ago and bottles left over from the prohibition era. It was an absolute blast and a must-do with family, friends, or partners. I am six months pregnant and had a totally fine time, so this would be an amazing trip with kids too. Thank you, Malcolm and Jamie for the unforgettable day! We'll be seeing y'all again!
