This is a must do for anyone who wants to learn about the Georgia coast and its barrier islands. Captain René really knows her stuff! We took a three hour private charter and saw dolphins, multiple types of birds, and landmarks. We also got to visit multiple areas of the island not easily accessible. We got to look for shells on a secluded beach. René was very knowledgeable and articulate about each wildlife/plant species as well as the geography/ecology of the area. You can tell she really loves the area and is a true conservationist.

We were looking for something different in the area while waiting to see Styx in concert. This tour had very good feedback and so we went for it. Captain Malcolm showed up on time. The tour was amazingly informative and well worth the money spent. He is very knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend the tour to folks that are new to the area.

Mother/daughter trip ended with an AWESOME charter with Sundial Charters. Captain Thomson was AMAZING. We know so much more than we did before we left. It's amazing that Tybee has this eco-system that contributes so much to our environment. If I had a professional camera, the pictures would have been so much better. Thank you Sundial Charters and Captain Thomson for making my daughters first ride on a boat something she will never forget.

We had the most amazing time this past Friday! The guys were great. Our girls had a blast. It made for a memorable trip finding nearly 100 shark teeth, 1 of which was 1/2 a Megalodon tooth. Worth every cent!

My husband and I wanted to go to Little Tybee Island but were having a difficult time finding a charter that was reasonably priced. We found Sundial Charters had what we were looking for and after calling and posting to FaceBook we were able to connect and make plans for them to take us to Little Tybee. Captains Dave and Rene communicated well with us including instructions where to meet and we took a 4 hour boating trip to Little Tybee and surrounding area. Rene came shell hunting with us and she is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the types of shells, the environment, and the wildlife/ birds that are in the area. Dave shared history of the island and marsh as he guided the boat through the waterways. My husband and I were very impressed by their knowledge and welcoming demeanor. We go so many sand dollars it was like Easter! It was indeed a pleasure that we hope to repeat on our next visit to Tybee. Maybe next time we'll try fossil hunting.

Captain Rene - incredibly knowleagable of the waters, birds, mammals and all wildlife encountered. A pleasure to be around.

Another amazing trip with Captain Rene of Sundial Charters! On an exceptionally beautiful February day we went out to Little Tybee for a sunset cruise. What we found was far more than we expected. The Snowy Owl, who is far away from it's home in the super cold Canadian climate, was standing on the beach making many seagulls mighty nervous. Take a look at some of the exquisite photos taken by our neighbor and professional photographer, Dee Bowers. Another magical trip! Thanks, Captain Rene!

WOW! What an experience! I went with a group of twelve 20- and 30-something's for a tour of Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge with Sundial Charters. Renee, David, and their team (boat drivers and a guide on WNWR) were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day unforgettable! On a cold, but sunny Saturday morning in March we launched from near Tybee Island to head to Wassaw on two small boats. It took about half an hour to get there, a beautiful ride, stopping along the way to see a group of dolphins playing. Once on the island, we met our guide, Danny, who told us the whole history of the island and explained island wildlife and their habits. We hiked through the lush greenery and then made for the beach. Renee explained all sorts of shells and sealife. Along the way, we saw bald eagles, an alligator, and learned a ton! This trip went above and beyond what I could have ever expected! I would strongly recommend this experience, or any trip with Sundial Charters.

Wow!! Thank you captain Rene for starting our spring break out with an awesome start!! From dolphins frolicking to the amazing finds!! It was and awesome trip and I will be recommending you to everyone I know!!

This was my favorite fossil tour I've ever been on. And, I've been on quite a few. Bennett and Tara were a wealth of knowledge. We found so many large shark's teeth, a whale tooth, horse tooth, old pottery and a sundry of other fossils. I could not have asked/hoped for a better experience. I would highly recommend this tour. In fact, I am planning another trip with them soon. :)

Sundial Charters specializes in day tours in coastal waters in and around Tybee Island, GA. Captain Rene' Heidt is a knowledgeable naturalist in birding, fishing, dolphins and the like. She can also take you to look for shark's and megalodon teeth if you wish. The boat will accommodate a party of 4-5 comfortably. She also has been willing to allow our decently-behaved dog to go along. If you are looking for an affordable day trip on the water, you really cannot do better than Sundial in this area.

One trip with Rene and David.

A visit to Savannah should include a charter fossil hunting trip. Young and old, it is exciting. Rene and David are experienced and kind. I live in Savannah and sign up as often I am able. From small sharks teeth, to Megladon teeth, to arrow heads, even bottles. Get muddy and get ready to hunt fossils.

Awesome little Tybee tour! We were able to learn so much about the area around us, see dolphins, and search for sand dollars! My oldest son left his sandals on the boat, and they called and delivered to our house! Hands down would recommend them to anyone that wants a great boat adventure!!

We headed out about 8:40am and took about an hour to get over to the Little Tybee beach area Rene chose.

There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it.

Where are you traveling from?" Nothing. No welcome or warm greeting. The next person wanted us to take a picture. For money, no doubt. No way. We're already not wanted, why would you want a picture? I've already decided I'm not spending any more money after being greeted in that fashion. No drinks, no snacks, and no souvenirs. The narrator was knowledgeable, had a few jokes, and was tipped appropriately. The paddlers do not run. Two stars for a knowledgeable narrator and clean restrooms. Otherwise, this riverboat cruise is a big pass.

It was nearly 7 at the time and the marina was closed so that is why I called him the next day. The Bubba Gumbos manager saw the beam sticking halfway out in the parking lot as shown in my picture and he is the one who pushed it back on the trailer bed. I have no idea why it was sticking out dangerously as shown on the picture. It was around 7 and the sun glare made it hard to see as shown in my pictures. You can see the attitude and extreme lack of care in the owners response. I was always polite and respectful so that is a blatant lie saying I was belligerent. I have all the texts between us and am happy to share. Their negligence damaged my vehicle and I ran in front of another vehicle that nearly hit the beam right after me preventing a second accident within just a few minutes. I even offered to split the repair costs to which I received no reply at all. I tried to work with him, but he treated me extremely unprofessionally. We were planning to eat at Bubba Gumbos that night and had been looking to take a boat out to Little Tybee while on our trip, but will never use this marina or eat here. I advise you to do the same.
