This is a place worthy of all the awards they have displayed on their wall. We've been traveling through Texas and wanted to try good barbecue and this is it!!! Best Texas barbecue we've tried and best value too. So much food! We had the four meat dinner plate with potato salad, jalapeño cream of corn added side of beans. For dessert we had a peach cobbler and the banana pudding. Everything was excellent and fed our family of five. On Thursdays they have Mac n cheese and we really wanted to try it but the food was plentiful. I have given Tyler's a good review in the past but I have to rescind this. The last three times, including today, that I have gone to Tyler's they have been out of Ribs. I arrive prior to the evening in the late afternoon. I start to order and then I am told they are out of ribs. Hey Tyler's: Ribs are what I came for and if you consistently don't have them then remove from the menu. Stop waisting my time. Your people behind the counter tell you they are out of menu items with no apology and it is evident that they do not care and have nothing to say or offer. You don't care about my time and my attempts to be your customer, so I am not retuning to Tyler's! Pretty good BBQ but if you cannot provide it, and I cannot get it, what's the point? read more

The ribs were truly out of this world. I have eaten barbecue all over Texas and Tyler's, in my opinion, is the absolute best. His ribs can be put up against any ribs, anywhere. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. Tyler himself came to our table and introduced himself and talked barbecue and life with us for about ten minutes. Let me just say this -- we get around. I didn't like the ribs. I've had much better. And I didn't like the beans at all. I should give it a low rating BUT maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I don't usually get ribs but wanted to try them. Also, it's the style of beans I don't like, not necessarily how this restaurant does it. Maybe I should have ordered a sandwich, maybe I should have ordered the potato salad(it looked very good). I'm not sure but what I will say is that not everything on the menu is amazing. The sauce was very good though. But also, the reason I gave it three stars and not less is the service. We drove through Amarillo on a cross country road trip and looked up what's the best bbq around. Tylers popped up and boy did they deliver. I got the brisket and potato salad, sandwich definitely need some bbq sauce but it's on the side for your own liking. My partner got the ribs and green beans, he said they were the best green beans he's ever had but the ribs course use some more meat, overall 8/10. People there were super nice and friendly, it was a scorcher, so we sat outside under the umbrellas and they have an awesome fan and water spray system for outdoor seating. I am from Wyandotte County, KS (KCK) my mom feed us BBQ once a week growing up ( I moved to Arkansas when I was 13). Naturally I have eaten at every BBQ spot you can think of over the years in KC Metro area as I travel back to KC 4-5 times a year to see family. Gates,ABryants, OK-Joes, Jones, Jack Stacks, Q39, Slaps, LC, BB, Danny E ... and the list goes on, I have tried them all (Jack Stack is my favorite btw) So here we go!!!... Tyler's Ribs are the best Ribs I have tasted period! The Beef Crown Rib at Jack Stacks is a VERY VERY VERY close second. But Tyler's is the KING.. like last meal you'ed want to eat right before you die type good! I dont care what you want when you got to Tyler's.. get the Ribs, trust me on this. And the Rub or Seasoning which ever you call it that he uses on his Ribs is out of this world delicious. I am pretty sure the owner was in the building while I was eating, he was busy talking to some locals the entire time but I wanted to shake his hand as he seemed like a very nice guy. This place is a gem. I'm not from Texas or any of the southern states so when I get to have some authentic barbecue it is a real treat. We spent like 40$ and fed me, (a 295 lb man) my wife and baby. The brisket was very good almost the best I've ever had. Ribs were great, textbook tender, juicy ribs. The jalapeño sausage was breathtaking. Just absolutely perfection. The cheese really popped the flavor profile of the meat and the spice of the jalapeño to balance it out. Service was fast and nice. Very cool also how many seats they were able to fit inside. NO SEASONING - meat very similar to chain restaurants. I have spent many years in Kansas City, St Louis, and Tennessee. I know good BBQ and this is not it. Brisket was slightly dry and lacked serious seasoning. The flavor was as if eating meat cooked in a crockpot. The ribs were well cooked, with a hint of a rub that was difficult to pick up. They carry 2 BBQ sauces. The regular was "ok" and had a good balance of smoke and sweetness. The spicy wasn't so spicy and I preferred this one to help kick up the bland meat. Tyler's catered my wedding over Labor Day weekend. To say that the food was good would be an understatement. I already knew they passed the standard test of any good bbq joint in Texas: brisket, no sauce, was perfect. The rest of the plate inevitably met the same standards. I knew this months before when I ate at the restaurant before booking them. What I remembered at my wedding, however, is that the best bbq is made with love. Love of food, love of people, and even love of the meat. This love is obvious from the house-made bacon that adorns the green beans, from the complex flavor profile of the bbq sauce, and from the ever-so-slight sourness of the peach cobbler. But most of all, you knew it from meeting Tyler, seeing the smile on his face, his willingness to explain his own origins in the BBQ industry to Texan and Michigander alike. Tyler's, and Tyler, were one of many highlights on a special day where you wouldn't think the food would shine so bright. Yet it did. Thank you Tyler's for helping make our special day so fantastic. Driving back from Chicago to Arizona we drove right through Amarillo, TX. I Yelped a place to eat as we drove through and picked this place because it had a lot of great reviews. I am sure glad we stopped here! We pulled up to the parking lot and didn't know what to expect. This place was the best BBQ I have ever had! So much so, I even bought a T-shirt which is something I never do! About 10 mins after we got there, they closed because they sold out of food. Staff here were really welcoming and friendly and even let us try some food they had left over from the day at no charge! I wish this place was closer cause I would go here more often. We had a good sample of their menu and everything was delicious! I have been to other BBQ places in Texas and have yet to go to a place that compares with Tyler's BBQ. It's a must if you ever find yourself in Amarillo, TX. I'm still rockin their T-shirt!! Enjoy! read more
