Amazing no frills donut shop. All the classics without all the over the top add-ons these days (which arguably have their place, but sometimes a normal donut is the big craving). I believe mom and pop owned since forever, so very kind and local! Friendly service. When I worked nearby during high school, a co-worker snagged a box of these and I was impressed, though I had simple taste buds. More recently, I picked up a box and enjoyed how fluffy the donuts were, everything was fresh, airy, and light while balancing a slight crispy exterior. The one drawback I think is that most of their donuts are too sweet. While everything else is addicting, the sweetness can quickly catch up and make you feel sick of sugar. Then again, the fluffy, airy texture is so addicting, so it's an internal battle. read more

We've especially loved: crullers (the strawberry topping is wonderful!), plain old fashioned and the cinnamon twist. These doughnuts have no business being this good! We were headed to Canada from Seattle & needed to stop to grab a quick breakfast. We saw this and baby we did not expect to be blown away. Don't let the strip mall setting fool you. The crullers are light, glazed, airy and perfect. I deviated from my norm of simple glazed and added the blueberry topping cruller and I could taste actual blueberries in there. Prices were reasonable for yeasted donuts (way more effort to make than Krispy Kreme) and while more a takeout place than a write your novel cafe, you could tell the folks worked hard to make it a good joint. We came at 9am on a Sunday - perfect timing for brunch donut foraging. And its Mountlake Terrace, so plenty of parking. read more

The Homie and I were heading north on I-5 and I realized I forgot to do the doughnut run from Mighty-O or Krispy Kreme. Thank goodness for The Homie riding shotgun and decided to checkout Countryside as I exited off 220th. First visit! This little strip mall had a pho place, a mediterranean place, a bento place, and even doughnuts! Me likey already! Entered and that classic doughnut smell....childhood flashback! The most enthusiastic Asian guy greeted us from behind the pastry case. The Homie selected the dozen that we were bringing to my brother's house in Lynnwood: maple bars, maple and bacon, old fashioneds, chocolate bismarcks with pastry cream, and raspberry filled ones. These were well received by the bro, niece, and nephew, although I think my sister-in-law wished I brought something more healthier. Anyways, yum! As good as particular ones from Dona Queen, King Donut, Frost, and Mighty-O. Fresh, tasty and not cloying. When I think Donut shop, I think variety, freshness and a product far better and beyond what you might find at a grocery chain. We got here fairly close to closing, so the selection was fairly picked over. They did however have my go to which is a Maple Glazed Donut. I bought the remaining along with another small selection. I was less than impressed. Nothing about this donut tastes fresh and I honestly wonder if they were day old. Immediately, I felt I would and could have found something fresher or better tasting at Safeway. The man in the shop couldn't have been any nicer and I could tell that he was grateful for our business, but at the end of the day, the donut was below average in my opinion. We just happened to be in the area when we stopped, so we won't be back, but even if this was my neighborhood, I would demand a better donut experience. read more

Perfectly acceptable donuts. Blueberry fritter was the best I've had anywhere to date. Plain glazed holes weren't exciting or very sweet. Old fashioned was a little greasy and had a wet consistency, it was just ok. Cruller had decent texture, but tasted like sesame oil. Would try other places before considering coming back. read more

It is my very first time here and I went there today around 3pm and everything is almost gone!! But they still have my all time favorite apple fritter. The apple fritter is amazing. Every single bite has an apple in it and it is a bit crunchy and perfectly glazed. I also bought the French cruller ( idk if i spell it correctly or not ) it's not too sweet at all. But i think because i came a bit late so it is a bit soggy on the bottom but still super duper good! Also the lady is sooo cute and very friendly. Will go back earlier next time!!! read more

So today I needed a big whack of doughnuts to celebrate a milestone at work--a dozen plus. 14 total. Unlike places in town, this ran me under 13 bucks out the door--several dollars less than I pay downtown for an even dozen. These guys are about more than the price, but, man, you can't get away from how nice the price is. It's a modest little strip mall location off 200th. Super easy to get to; they're even right by the freeway. But the place is perfectly fine, and open eeeeearly. Plenty of parking outside, and even a little table where you can hang out and enjoy your fat pill. The first thing you see is the mountainous display case with at least half a dozen shelves of doughnuts, at least a dozen kinds on each shelf. Raised, cake, stuffed, maple bars, sprinkles, all the usual suspects. The owner is SUPER nice and quick to make sure you get what you want. They have great prices on coffee and tea as well. The second thing you see (or hear, actually) is the little flat screen TV behind you. He was watching cool old westerns in black and white while I was there. That's pretty awesome--a lot of places would just have the silly morning chat shows or CNN on or whatever, but he's actually watching something good. I dig it! I was maybe five minutes from parking to getting on the freeway, which is pretty amazing. I am not a weekly or monthly doughnut buyer or anything, but when I do need them for the team, this is definitely the spot I will be hitting. read more

This is a small family owned business, I'm surprised someone would be so up-idy about .50 freaking cents. You probably got a day old if you weren't impressed, because Safeway donuts are complete garbage! (& top pot & Krispy Kreme!)
